So I spend a lot of time on RUclips and whenever I stumble upon a new channel, I like to play this game I call "guess the subscriber count". This dude should have 100X more subs. Great video, love the in depth insight. Subscribed
I have friends that buy a new driver every year! They’ll NEVER beat me! You can’t BUY a game! Enough of this interruption, back to the putting & chipping green ⛳️
Great, informative video that lets us know what’s coming. Good because now we can see if we should wait or purchase a driver on the way out at a significant discount.
i hope callaway comes out eith another DCB iron. Need those and i cant find em in any stores. Any word on the irons? Or an estimate on when callaway clubs will come out?
Love your videos David. Thanks. I'm disappointed again with Ping's shaft options. I mean No-one uses any of the shafts they offer. I'm currently using 430 GST which I rather like, but I had a heck of time outsourcing a decent shaft. The driver I'm most looking forward to is the Srixon ZXi which I hope to test next week. Pretty decent range of shaft options and I like the fact that they have available weights in 2gm increments from 2-20 gms. Surely that has to be a massive advantage in customising.
I know several good custom fitters who start fittings looking for good shaft option, THEN start trying heads. A shaft that matches your swing can make different heads work well. Within brands, hosels are almost always back-compatible, meaning old Ping shafts work on new Ping drivers, etc. If you have a shaft you like, you could try it on a new head (if its the same brand). Also, changing the tip from something like a TaylorMade to a Callaway tip or a Ping to a Mizuno tip, is very easy for club builders. So, if you KNOW you want an old shaft but a new head, it can be an option. You'll still pay for the shaft that comes with the driver (brands don't see just the head), but it could save you money on a new after-market shaft. - DD
On center strikes, we're just about there. The battle for the last few seasons has been on improving performance on mis-hit drives and protecting ball speed poorly-struck shots. - DD
Crossfield dropped a Cobra adapter video the other night then pulled it quickly by the looks lol. I've got to be honest for a single figure player , I think the new Cobra adapter is a game changer..doesn't it have 30 settings?
Regarding the Elyte TD, it's literally the same removable/interchangable weight system like they had in the Ai Smoke TD and the Paradym TD, no idea why you went off to compare with the subzero when those two recent examples are literally right in front of you.
You raise a totally valid point. I guess I was assuming that viewers would know that and could have communicated it better. The two-weight system has been around for a while, and my point (which was made poorly), was that it started with the old Sub Zero products. - DD
If you were well fit for a Paradym, you probably would not see significant performance gains from a new Callaway driver. Everything is incremental and the PAradym was a sweet driver. - DD
It's impossible for me to know which will be better for you on a platform like this. Go to a shop, hit both and see what the launch monitor data (and your eyes) tell you. - DD
They want your money folks, the laws governing ball speed off the face are strict, so the ball isn't going travel further but Forgiveness, weight and aerodynamics is all they play with. The price Gouging has gotten out of hand, if people don't buy, the price drops, Personal Opinion.
I'm not saying your wrong, but the golf equipment industry is like any other (cars, mobile phones, etc.). New gear comes out every year and if you're happy with what you have, there's no reason to buy something new and spend money just to have the "latest and greatest." I haven't upgraded my iPhone in two or three generations because I don't need to, and my car is from 2015. That said, if I needed a new smartphone or car, I'd watch videos and do research to see whats out there and what I might want to consider. - DD
Calloway… I like the older drivers with the sliding track weight as on the Epic Max, LS, etc much better. The Elyte is ho-hum for looks. Taylormade just looks boring. Srixon is ok and the design is logical but nothing great. Ping appears a big improvement on looks, colour images show a gray and blue design on the bottom which is very sharp along with the chrome. The top of head looks good with the carbon, however the turbulators need to go and a nice new design needs to appear. Way too dated. Nothing here to get excited about the prices likely will be at least as much or more than they were in 2024, which puts them out of most golfers range.
As someone who has already hit all of these clubs, and others that are coming for 2025, I can tell you there is more than meets the eyes here ... I'm just not allowed to share it. Yet. LOTS of videos coming in January. - DD
Agree totally. Ping really need to step outside of their own orbit and come up with some new aesthetics on the crown of their drivers Out of all the new and recent releases, nothing comes close the Titleist GT, which isn’t much of a looks change to previous iterations
With the USGA rules and regulations, there are several drivers that are now similar in shape because brands have learned what works best. Higher crowns, less point in the back, get the weight out of the middle, etc. What I will be very curious to see is how drivers evolve after the USGA's new ball testing kicks in and golf balls get slower and have more spin. - DD
The Callaway is hideous hopefully it performs out of this world or I wouldn’t use it but I never liked callaway drivers except the ai smoke was good for me

Yep- I’ve been saying the same thing since I found David.
I agree
Totally agree- I learn more from David than anyone else.

@@DavidDusekYou served me :)
Callaway has already posed the Elyte woods on their website for pre-sale. The fairways are interesting for the addition of a new titanium club.
When is the Titleist GT1 coming out? That's the King!🚀🚀🚀🚀
Shhhhhh! 😉
Great info, thank you very much.

Can you do a video for the cobra DS-Adapt
Crossfield dropped a Cobra adapter video the other night then pulled it quickly by the looks lol. I've got to be honest for a single figure player , I think the new Cobra adapter is a game changer..doesn't it have 30 settings?
I’ll give you the whole rundown soon. Very soon.
That video was great ....and then it was gone
Kind Keyser Söze.
33 settings actually, hide the wrench from the tinkerers.
IMHO, The Titleist GT, Srixon ZXi, and the W/S Dynapwr are the only decent looking drivers so far.
Titleist GT is a thing of beauty!
Seems like we’ve hit a technological wall.
The USGA regulations and rules on driver performance make it hard to create big jumps there days. - DD

You forgot Wilson...probably the best new driver for 2025
Looks UNBELIEVABLE
The video was already over 20 minutes. Gotta save something for the next round. - DD
When they make a new driver that does something very special let me know , until then I play my 3year old paradym
If you were well fit for a Paradym, you probably would not see significant performance gains from a new Callaway driver. Everything is incremental and the PAradym was a sweet driver. - DD
so I guess the marketing departments all gave the orders that black/grey drivers are in
The photos are all taken from the USGA‘s list of conforming drivers, and the images on there are black-and-white. - DD
Thank god new clubs will be out soon 😂 give me more carbon, bells and whistles please 😅
Srixon with the fire!
The brand has been making sneaky-good drivers for a few seasons. - DD
@@DavidDusek Just added the ZX7 mkii to my bag and I really like it.

The taylormade is the dark speed

@wessims3412 I agree 100% but I love new releases, even if I can’t afford. I almost look at new driver releases as a two year wish list item

These are very impressive 😂. Let’s just roll some 💩 out every year just for the sake of rolling out something (new) with a different paint scheme.
Another 1 yard for £600 smackers.
The days of "this club is 10 to 15 yards longer" are long gone. - DD
