      It’s such a good price, I know! I was surprised Zhiyun made such an introductory offer, definitely a win!

      Thank You! Yes, it does a superb job at filling in the sunlight on that table!

    Thanks for the video. If I’m not wrong, the Cinepeer cx100 doesn’t have bluetooth, so no app to controll it.. I think is worth to mention. For the price, though, looks a very good deal

      That’s correct, I did mention that in my video, and I think it’s great, hence the title. A simple light with quite a bit of power, really love it.

    In case you're wondering, it is 0.678 stops dimmer than the 40 W light (62.5% of light intensity, assuming it is proportional to its power). In other words, it lis like an f/3.5 (3.478) instead of f/2.8.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  7 месяцев назад

      In my tests, yeah, whilst the 40w is at f2.8, the 25w is at f4, more or less. That’s using a Sekonic light meter, not just my Superman light meter eyes.

      @@PhillipSkrabaI used a calculator.

      We crazy fools in the film world use light meters, we’re a little loco though. A calculator might do the trick, and it’s pretty close to be honest.

    I still use a couple of old Godox SL60W (with bowens softboxes), are these lights noticeably brighter? I'm not really in the position to spend money recklessly, but doing away with mains cabling would be a boon.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  7 месяцев назад +2

      Right, so specially for you, and for my own curiosity, I just dug out my first ever RUclips light, the Godox SL60W. At 1m, 5600k, 100%, ISO 100, 1/50 your f-stop on the Godox would be f8, on the Zhiyun CX100 f13. The Zhiyun is a 1 1/2 stops brighter. It's crazy considering it's a fraction of the size. The tests were done with the Godox on mains power and the Zhiyun on battery power.

      @@PhillipSkraba You are the man. Maximum respect. I expect the Godoxes (Godoxii? Godeses?) will have dimmed with age too, being last generation tech.
      I have other Zhiyun gear that I'm happy with so these lights are now on my Christmas list. Gotta sell some more content first. However a remote on/off would have been preferable.

      @@henrytheturnip Yes, these new tech lights from Zhiyun are superb! They really surprise me, great gimbals, but their lights, just wow. Well, right now it's 25% OFF, plus I think in some places Amazon or the website give another 10% OFF, so crazy savings at the moment for launch.

    Nice, just grabbed one on amazon for 135 euros with your 25% and an extra 10% from amazon itself! Couldn't pass that!
    Btw, I might come to Radomsko at some point, if and when I'll do I'll drop you a DM, maybe we catch up for in Lodz for a coffee and a photo walk...

    So now the battery isn't removable? Have they fixed the battery issue? Because if not then you'll end up with a expensive paperweight.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, the battery issue on the X100 is fixed and Zhiyun is offering new batteries (Still waiting for mine). This new light uses their new batteries, that are improved.

      @@PhillipSkraba but the lack of Bluetooth and a display to fine tune the CCT and power it's a massive downgrade.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  7 месяцев назад

      Well, it's nice to have, but I've been in the film industry for 20 years, we never had those options, so you can really do without them, but sure, it's nice to have.

    CM25 yes! it's great. XC100 is absolutely terrible. the brightness control is like... 100% to like 70%... can't go lower than that.

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  6 месяцев назад

      Really? My XC100 works great, but yes, 1% could be way dimmer. The CM25 is such a good budget option, I just wish the battery was replaceable.
