Bro, this is the number one reason I watch and trust your content! Many RUclipsr aren’t professional, they’re influencers. They get bought to positive review these products.
I’m just trying to shed some light that as creators we need to be honest to our community. People trust and look up to us we need to hold a new standard
I’ve been saying You Tube has turned to a big advertisement channel. There is less and less creative content a more Advertising. I used to trust You Tubers but now most all are trying to make money over creative content and those I used to trust now lie to get paid. reviews have turned to Advertisement
I just started the video.. but I think one of the core issues in the filmmaking RUclips space is differentiating sponsored videos and review videos. Sponsored videos are not reviews and people need to stop treating them as such. Sponsored videos are opportunities for both brand and creators to work together to highlight a product. If people think that not genuine.. then they can watch non sponsored reviews. Both are needed. I personally love these lights. I’ve used them on pro sets and RUclips stuff. Also I don’t think a lot of people were calling these pro film industry lights.. they’re different tools for different situations. And everyone’s definition of “industry standard” is different. A true filmmaker will use whatever they can to get a job done.
Bro I’m a fan of your channel and you are always 100% real and that’s why I’ve been a fan over the years. They did market these as “pro” briefly and let’s be real we know they aren’t. This video was meant to be more of a demo about the subject and appreciate your feedback. I think as a community we just need to do better Cam! I’m homies with Kofi and I’m in Costa Mesa if you ever want to link up or need help shooting broll btw. I couldn’t agree more with what it is you’re saying bro. For me the molus x100 is usable but the CX100 is limiting with the points I brought up in my opinion. Can you use it yes, is there better options for the buck 10000%
@@ImJasonAnthony I never saw the pro branding stuff personally. But yes I get what you’re saying, there’s a lot of “shilling” as people call it. But I think most of those people aren’t in the pro industry and aren’t marketing towards that industry. I have the CX100. I think is a better deal than the X100. These tiny lights are not ideal for interviews as the battery does not last enough. They are ideal to raise the exposure of a room. They are also awesome to be placed on high places.
Can you Review the Creamsource Vortex 24 there is not that many people on the platform talking about it. It’s a light I really want for my truck but don’t think many RUclipsrs besides Gaffer and Gear (Andrew Lock) will talk about it.
I own over 30 lights that I’ve purchased over the last 5+ years. For small nimble lights that can power off a vmount for hours would be nanlites forza 60’s they have all different versions and super versatile. We’ll rig them up on rafters using cardellini clamps, they have softbox, projectors, fresnel modifiers the list goes on!
I haven’t used Amarans 60w but own nanlites version and have about 4 of them. Not enough to key unless it’s more a RUclips talking head but for an edge or hair light they’re amazing.
@@ImJasonAnthony Thanks for simple interviews and talking heads I might go with 2 Nanlite FS-150B lights. As long as I can plug them in and remote control them with my phone that's all I need.
Which light would you recommend for rigging on a cage? we are a two man crew that do interviews and walkthroughs for companies. Therefore the light needs to be quiet
Thank you for the review. I was very close to shopping X100. With your video I need to go back to research and see what might be my light. I am going to use the light with an octagonal softbox for video video calls. I wonder if you have any recommendation for me in the same range of light prices as X100.
The battery on my Molus died after 3 months and having only used it a handful of times. It's a known issue and Zhiyun's exchange policy is absolutely terrible!
I appreciate your honesty, I just wish more creator were honest with their reviews, here is my policy " you lie to me on a video review" I wont watch your content anymore simple as that, I just move on to the next until I find someone like you. subscribed.
I agree. Too many people raving about a product when I know there must be limitations to it. But I have begun to see some giving honest reviews. And there are some I trust, like Gerald's Undone. He's always very honest about the deal he made to do a review and isn't afraid to talk about its limitations. As a semi-RUclipsr myself I experienced that head on. I was interested in a particular product and I noticed that there were very few ACTUAL reviews of it. They more like talking about specs and how it's so amazing. But when I bought it and received it, there were a lot of bugs and other issues that nobody ever mentioned. I was literally, and probably still am, the only one on all of RUclips to do an actual review of it. I do want to do a follow-up to my review, because I'm still using it and am not experiencing many issues anymore. It's the Emotiva MR1, in case you're wondering. Anyway, too many RUclipsrs were all out raving about it and I could tell they didn't really test it.
Ramon, I appreciate your feedback and keep making those honest reviews and putting products through its paces! We want to see people using the products and doing just that! I too trust Geralds in depth testing and just feel like we need to let creators know whats up. I understand you cant take it literally that this is a "pro" light but at the same time stop having products backed so damn heavilty when others in my commects have experiencing multiple batteries failing over time and just annoying quirks. Id rather get a larger light like the Nanlite FS 300B thats now $160 cheaper coming in at only $239.00 USD if you don't need your lights to be super small. More power, better trusted CRI and I have 2 in my kit now for over 2 years going strong!
can you tell me professional lights whit low cost? there are not so big. wich ones are better then the molus x100? I wanna buy my first profesisonal light
I really like the Nanlite Forza 60’s they’re powerful, super tiny and can be powered by vmounts for hours on set. They’re the size of an iPhone and come in several versions. I like nanlites additional FS lights like the 300B. It’s way bigger but the same price as the zhiyun lights and 100000x better quality
Great job! Character speaks volumes. Trading integrity for dollars is an issue regardless of the industry. I’m glad to see a true professional speaking out against disingenuous “reviews”. This is especially helpful for consumers starting out or others early in their photo/video journey. Reviews that discuss pros and cons help us make informed decisions. Thanks 🙏
It's literally all about integrity and some people can be so desperate to get in front of a brands eyes and want to keep them happy they're not doing their due diligence to those that "trust" what they say. At the end of the day it's up to us to make the decision but Gear acquisition syndrome is a thing and people be falling for it all day.
@@ImJasonAnthony so true. Like you said, we have to set a new standard and that is one of real world application, honesty and sharing helpful information so we can all grow
I'm guessing the cheaper light is trash compared to the more expensive one? You didn't even actually say which one is trash. You might've at some point in your video, but I tuned out since it was just all ranting. I mean one of them is less than half the price of the other, doesn't take much to figure out which ones better. Also if you could name some lights that are "better" (as you say in your video) within the same price range of the cx100 that offers 100w and internal battery, that would be great. If you can't then it really just makes all your points in this video moot.
To be honest the zhiyun 60c is my go to for small portable lights, we rig them all over our shoots wether it’s interviews for edge or hair lights, mounted on rafters for music videos or narrative work and they can be powered via vmount for hours!
I have the CX100 and I love it. Wny? I got it for 150 bucks, weights nothing and fits anywhare. If you want profesional, go with the G200 or G300. The x100 is for me a worse deal, so expensive with the battery option.
@@ImJasonAnthony So why are you saying it's trash? Lol. Truth is I have a ton of lights, but I cant carry them in my bag. CX100 is perfect for that. I only wish Zhyiun sold the 24V power adapter. I love it. X100 and X60 too expensive, there are better solutions. CX100 is not trash. You can get pro results on a budget.
Haven’t used the light, do have the g200 and it’s… okay, but not bad for a light at its price point. Luckily Forsyth has a really good review of the light, about the only RUclipsr I actually trust in the film space cause he has the ongoing industry DP cred to back it up.
To be honest I love the Nanlite Forza 60 series. I have 6 of them some Bi color some RGBLAC and they rock. Not much loss on the output and super tiny. Now if size isn't an issue I'd rather get a larger light like the Nanlite FS 300B thats now $160 cheaper coming in at only $239.00 USD. More power, better trusted CRI and I have 2 in my kit now for over 2 years going strong!
The one thing I have found NO ONE is talking about the Molus x100, is the battery, the battery is absolute garbage and there is a known fault with them, Zhiyun also know this and with proof of purchase, they will receive it back for a free repair, but I did not do this as to return the package would cost me £50. The battery stops charging and ends up being a paper weight.
I have the x60 and x100 - they are not even what I would consider professional lights. They get the job done but the fan noise is a joke, they are louder than my Skypanels that are 5x brighter but take up a larger footprint. I got these for travel run-n-gun lighting shoots where I won't always have edison to rely on and they are great for that. Thankfully the noisy fans can get notched out in post if they are picked up by the boom ever, with 10 seconds of room-tone capture, with Lavs I have not found the fan noise much of an issue (Even though these little suckers are louder than a gaming computer sprinkled with Dorito Dust).
It seems like there's mixed reviews and some people brought up some points. For me it's just not something trustworthy for paid gigs. Wanna get by using it for personal stuff sure. Does it output 100W yeah, is it accurate from a kelvin or % power wise, absolutely not.
Thanks for saying what so many others are afraid to say. While I may follow many of these RUclipsrs, I refuse to watch videos the second the embargo is released just on principle knowing the "review" is likely tainted. What's worse is the big named youtubers I could mention that put out a video, without testing, just reading the specs. That's about as lazy as it gets.
No shade on anyone specifically but we as a community just really need to do better! That’s it once we make the shift we’re now in control of what we say and create.
Hey if they work for you thats amazing! like I said I do like the X100, the cine whatever its called just cant dial it too accurately and drives me nuts
Appreciate it bro, but didn’t know I couldn’t have a 2 camera angle setup on my video if I felt like it. I wouldn’t say seemingly random when it’s switching in my opinion, more trying to hold attention and elevate my video 🤷🏻♂️ it also helps reduce jump cuts which I can’t stand if I need to pick up from where there’s maybe a hiccup
@@ImJasonAnthony I appreciate that you're trying to elevate the video. But the cuts feel random to me (especially when they occur mid-sentence), so I find them distracting because I find myself wondering why there was a cut there rather than listening to you (which is a shame; your message is solid). I also think you're cutting to Camera B too often and spending too much time on those off-angle shots (which break eye contact with the viewer). Maybe mix in some B-roll of the products in use to drive home your points or get some overhead shots for further variety? I think that would do much more to elevate the video than bouncing between A and B.
You tell em lol, all jokes aside you are 100% on all fronts. I also hate the 100 million videos in my feed same day for same product bs. Had to unfollow mad people just because of the crap.
It’s getting pretty OD if you ask me. I started doing the same, I get it but at the same time y’all can sprinkle it across the week of the drop. I need to see 15 RUclipsrs testing stuff in their room or backyard for 5minuted. Now some friends on this platform do it proper but a lot don’t.
Bro, I agree with everything that you said and this is good content but to be honest, what REAL professional is going to run and buy this just because they heard it was an PRO light from a random RUclipsr? There is rally no risk here. This will only impress content creators and RUclips filmmakers. It is the same way people that believe the bigger iPhone is PRO just because Apple said so are probably happy with it and deserve it.
I totally agree and it’s not directed towards these lights only it was more of a general statement across the board about how loosely terms like professional is thrown around! How do people take anyone seriously on this platform anymore. The embargo push is just obvious these days and it seems like anyone will do anything for some free gear 🤦🏻♂️
This review is a little skewed. You mostly said it was "trash" because of what it didn't have. Why would you review something poorly because it didn't have certain features, when it doesn't even advertise or claim to have those features? For what it is -- a simplified, budget light, it does what it's supposed to. And if you're doing your research and know what you're getting, I think it's a great light.
Oh so when you turn the knob from 0-10% and it instantly jumps to 50% with no real gauge on what intensity you’re at isn’t a problem or the fact that the CRI isn’t close to the temperature you set? 5600 reads 6300k with my light meter. Those 2 callouts aren’t features not listed, they should just function properly. I got the cx100 to see if it could compete with the x100 🤷🏻♂️ I research everything and do my homework. I’m just tired of people riding brands jock and will say anything for a free light that costs $50 to make. My time is way more valuable to create these videos in trade for low cost items. If you enjoy the light that’s great bro, there’s something for everyone but don’t come at me saying it’s a great light. Can it light something up . . . Sure, can you get the most out of it, doubt it but what do I know 🤷🏻♂️
Especially when the product is worth less than the amount of effort it takes to produce the review 😭😭. I charge my clients $1500 to shoot their RUclips content. It takes me a day to shoot and another to edit my personal videos. So the product I’m being sent needs to be worth my time

What light do your recommend for a small space with softbox
I own over 30 lights that I’ve purchased over the last 5+ years. For small nimble lights that can power off a vmount for hours would be nanlites forza 60’s they have all different versions and super versatile. We’ll rig them up on rafters using cardellini clamps, they have softbox, projectors, fresnel modifiers the list goes on!
Like your camera angle flow and choices.
What are your thoughts on the Amaran 60x for use as a key light or hair light in interviews/talking head videos?
I haven’t used Amarans 60w but own nanlites version and have about 4 of them. Not enough to key unless it’s more a RUclips talking head but for an edge or hair light they’re amazing.
@@ImJasonAnthony Thanks for simple interviews and talking heads I might go with 2 Nanlite FS-150B lights. As long as I can plug them in and remote control them with my phone that's all I need.
Finally someone speak about it. Thanks bro.
What do think about the latest Godox ML100bi color that try to be next molus 100?
AN HONEST RUclipsR AND A SOLID HOMIE
Appreciate you Peter I know you also have no problem being honest with gear! We need to just keep our integrity on this platform!
See this is what I mean you’re the 4th person to tell me this and the brand not taking ownership is BS.
What do you offer instead of the cheaper version?
What lights do you recommend for that price range?
I appreciate your honesty, I just wish more creator were honest with their reviews, here is my policy " you lie to me on a video review" I wont watch your content anymore simple as that, I just move on to the next until I find someone like you. subscribed.
Amen and appreciate the kind words!!!
I have the Colbor CL100X that are cheaper, tiny, metal yet lightweight and overall very solid and higher CRI as well. It's as big as a soda can.
BOOM there you have it! This is what I mean, there's CHEAPER, better built, and more accurate lights out there . . . Make it make sense Zhiyun.
This is exactly how a review should be done!! 💯
Man I’m just being brutally honest
Thank you for your honest review, What do you recommend?
To be honest the zhiyun 60c is my go to for small portable lights, we rig them all over our shoots wether it’s interviews for edge or hair lights, mounted on rafters for music videos or narrative work and they can be powered via vmount for hours!
I have the CX100 and I love it. Wny? I got it for 150 bucks, weights nothing and fits anywhare. If you want profesional, go with the G200 or G300. The x100 is for me a worse deal, so expensive with the battery option.
Glad you like the light and it fits your workflow, I wish I had uses for mine.
Great man! When you say there’s better lights on the market in the same ballpark, may I ask what you would recommend? Keep it up 🔥
Good video cheers.
What lights would you recomend that are portable and bright?
To be honest I love the Nanlite Forza 60 series. I have 6 of them some Bi color some RGBLAC and they rock. Not much loss on the output and super tiny. Now if size isn't an issue I'd rather get a larger light like the Nanlite FS 300B thats now $160 cheaper coming in at only $239.00 USD. More power, better trusted CRI and I have 2 in my kit now for over 2 years going strong!
I'll check them out. Thanks for the response 💪
Finally, someone to say it! Appreciate the honesty.
yeah I watched so many video about this particular product and yeah, I felt like I was only watching ads
Hey if they work for you thats amazing! like I said I do like the X100, the fan is loud but like you said now with voice isolation its an easy fix!
cap ! we rock with this lights are awesome
Finally someone who tell the truth
Just being brutally honest
Have them and it’s trash! Love the genuine review brother 👊🏼
It seems like there's mixed reviews and some people brought up some points. For me it's just not something trustworthy for paid gigs. Wanna get by using it for personal stuff sure. Does it output 100W yeah, is it accurate from a kelvin or % power wise, absolutely not.
Great transparent review.
RUclips shilling is out of control. Thanks for being real!!
Man I love those lights lol
Hey if they work for you thats amazing! like I said I do like the X100, the cine whatever its called just cant dial it too accurately and drives me nuts
Let’s go!
🫡🫡🫡 my man!!!!
Someone needs to callout all the shill youtubers, most of them are
Just bringing light to the situation
Good point, good review, but what is up with the seemingly random use of Camera B?
I think that would do much more to elevate the video than bouncing between A and B.
merci beaucoup pour cette vidéo informative 🙇🏼♂
Thank you for taking the time to watch it!
Straight factsssss
Just trying to be real! Appreciate you Tim!
HONEST … review … Jason this is why we follow you brother … BS Meter … on
Haha I can’t help it man had to make the video and talk about it!
The embargo push is just obvious these days and it seems like anyone will do anything for some free gear 🤦🏻♂️
i suspect al low-mid rier led light is complete garbage. The more i dig the more i find.
I love it ❤
I see Cinepeer I see Cheaper
Can it light something up . . . Sure, can you get the most out of it, doubt it but what do I know 🤷🏻♂️
influencers love to get free product and then say how great they are simply because they get free gear. its infuriating.
Especially when the product is worth less than the amount of effort it takes to produce the review 😭😭. I charge my clients $1500 to shoot their RUclips content. It takes me a day to shoot and another to edit my personal videos. So the product I’m being sent needs to be worth my time
who said these were professional lights? 😂
