Hi Adrian I'm new to Alexander Technique. Thank You for being Here!! I am here to learn (watching everything, you'll see me like what I've watched) and practice the techniques as a non medicated, non surgical, pain management skill. I will show ya my MRI one day if needed. I currently, due to reasons (homeless for 10 months and starting from scratch), have a milk crate with a cushion to sit on at my low table, not coffee table height, not dining table height... and I think I like it even more now. I was born malnourished in womb with a sacral dimple, mild-moderate scoliosis and lumbarisation (S1 not fused) .. I have had 2 occasions that may have resulted in my T11-T12 fusing with ankylosing spondylitis and I'm pretty sure the discs that bulge in my neck are from the 12 years of nerve suppression "therapy" that I was released from in mid 2021... peripheral neuropathy is my very loud cue to stand straight like my life depends on it. I am in stable rental lease studio unit accommodation for 12 months. I am not on pain medication. I do yoga and I walk (a lot). Sitting up really straight has reduced migraines, however I don't drive, no mopping, no talking with phone to my ear, no long hair to style, even the picking up rubbish to help our Earth and nature photography that I love to capture while walking have reduced coz of the numbness and pain that happens. I sleep with a towel rolled as a pillow. I quit smoking cigarettes, no alcohol, great food choices, hydration, yoga, all inflammation reduction options, including aloe vera juice are my friends. So .. I found you here. I'm here to learn. I am grateful. I will watch everything and be in contact for fine tuning. Lifted crown and chin tucked .. Squatting like a rice paddy farmer. 😀 👍 can do
@@AdrianFarrell Please do! I can't wait to get your wisdom on squatting...and also on running!! It's an under-explored application of AT, judging by the dearth of AT teachers actually addressing it. Yes yes, Malcolm Balk and Lawrence Smith, but we need your take on it, Adrian!!
@@Robb3348 hi Robb, will do 🙂 Btw, I took running lessons from Malcolm Balk, so I don't really have anything new to add, but I could still talk about my experience.
The Case of Mary Bond & PD I think I remember you saying something about PD being a particular interest of yours, I like Mary Bond, so I could not resist making you aware of her case. Ignore this if I'm wrong. Link ruclips.net/video/FI-pffb7O4o/видео.html
I wasn't familiar with Mary Bond, I see she's a Rolfer, so we have very different views on movement as the Alexander Technique is primarily about thinking in activity.

Jolly baity!
Do you play piano?
No actually, I play guitar, but I bought the piano stool as it's perfect as an Alexande Technique teaching tool.
That's right... get your body weight over your feet because that's where it needs to be lol.
