I am doing a data analyst course with springboard with some timeseries data. One person told be that Linear regression wont do good with time series data and when the target values is not numerical and is categorical. Can you please tell me how to identify whether linear can be used in timeseries data or not ?

If we have categorical target, we go for Logistic regression.
