They seem like such cool jobs to have, but it's really not something you go to school for. There's no "casting" degrees, so really curious how people end up in that position.
Me too. As I was watching,I was thinking the same thing. There are quite a few jobs I have wondered how people got them bc there's no specific degree or training course to be take.
I'm only going under an assumption here that these food stylist professionals may have an initial background in culinary courses, since presentation is also an important factor in being a chef. The latter I'm assuming they come from various art courses, and the rest to get into specific movie stuff is a matter of creativity and connections.
@@KimberleyBianca yea, most people don't know about these things, bc we're usually fed the basic college type jobs like doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. Stuff like that. The minor stuff you have to search out.
I've been working as an SFX techie for some 16-17 years now, I got into the business through a friend who knew someone that had already made special effects for a number of years. So, he introduced me to this guy, I started helping out in the shop and ended up being hired. It should be said that I've always been inventing and building stuff, and I've worked as a professional pyrotechnician for 10 years, so my background is 50/50 self-taught/education. At the time I was hired, I was already working on some effects for another friend who went to film school. I think most people in this line of work, get into it as a result of their interests, and sort of gravitate towards companies that do this kind of work. People who mess around with latex, silicone, and epoxy as a hobby develop a certain combination of skills you can't really find anywhere else. The "problem" you might call it, is that it can be hard to find a regular job if you for some reason all of the sudden find yourself unemployed, I did at one point because the company went down due to poor leadership, and it's remarkable how many people won't hire someone with as diverse a skill set like mine, because once they hear what you've been doing before, they assume you'll get bored after a few weeks or months, and leave. I reckon there might be some truth to that, I rarely have two days alike, and I get to use my hands as much as my head, often solving unusual problems nobody has really had to solve before, or solved before successfully. Not a whole lot of people can say that. As a kid I wanted to get into either SFX, or the demining business, but as I grew up, I found out most demining companies preferred people with a military background, and as I'm really bad at taking orders, the military wasn't for me. To be honest, I think I'm happier where I am, ok, clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance would be hilarious, but I think it'd get boring in the long run. If memory serves, the deminers that get hurt on the job, have statistically been at it for 17 years, on either side of the 17-year mark, the number of accidents decreases for some reason, so there seems to be a certain level of complacency people tend to develop, and I can only conclude that is because they no longer feel the need to stay sharp.

The guys that write the scenes probably not, the director and the executive producer however are KEENLY aware of how much work and money will go into a scene. One expensive scene can make or break a film.

That never happens lol, i know the actors get more attention, but the people that make these props do appear in the credits!
@@cgguto Yeah just as if people actually spend time reading the credits. The credits are like Apple's terms & conditions, nobody reads them...
Don’t diss people who may not have finished high school. Some of us go to earn PhDs.
This is one of the reasons I want to pursue acting career. It's so I can eat poop, drink blood, cheeing on maggots, all without the health risky.
you can do that now to lol
Great ideas for Halloween parties 😊
Hey thanks for an idea
Even though I know it's not the real thing, I'd still have trouble eating it.
Imagine if a real insects accidentaly fell into the bowl and they ate it🤣
0:36 the subtitle 💀💀💀
7:33 pause then click
That face tho 🤣
He is saying: How dare u make fun of me!!!!!
Would have loved to have the big foot poop prank done to freak my aunt out. She is a big germ-a-phobe & would die laughing when she freaks.
These people are hella talented! Thanks insider for making such interesting videos!!!
This is quite the gem I found in my recommendation
8:32 what’s with that expression lol🤣🤣🤣✨
That face :/
Respect to Melissa for her skill and to the guy being able to eat that very real looking fake poop
I still couldn't eat any of that stuff, great job on her part, but I couldn't get over it. Looks too real!
This takes "playing with food" to a whole new level
These are actually great food ideas to serve in a Halloween party.
Wow. This is amazing. I can't believe such realistic-looking grossness can be made from such delicious foods
Joe is so expressive 😂
The poop made me laugh because my family have made ‘date logs’ and weird stuff that look like poop and it was really hard to eat them because of how much they looked like poop so I get what he meant at the end of the video lol
Heheheh yeah... If you've ever cooked red or yellow split lentil dhal, the visual comparison between that & the um... more liquid form of poop (or alternatively a regurgitated version) is decidedly disturbing at times too, IMO!! 😆 It's totally delicious, but you maybe wanna not think about it too hard when eating it... 🙈
that's pretty cool. especially the part with the roach and the moving antennae.
This was so amazing and fascinating to watch!!! Thank you for uploading this video!!!
She must be great at dinner parties... 😁
😆🤣😆🤣
lol i love videos like this !!!! love this channel!!!
I respect your work ma'am.
Imagine actor picking up wrong cockroach
The irony is that I would more readily vomit consuming the food props than the real thing
Maybe if Melissa made the horse heart for GOT, Emily Clarke wouldn't have had such a hard time eating it. Although Crunchy ASMR made a really fantastic jelly heart which actually did taste good.
1:39 Why censor it when you literally see it a second later
Uh accidental censorship
When U Accidentally Eat The Real SHKT Rather Than The Fake One. 😂
You know, I don't think most people have turds laying around, so I'd say the chances of accidentally chomping down on a stink pickle are rather limited.;-)
I need more videos like this in my life
I doubt the maggots in fear factor after watching this episode 😂😂
The maggots can be a good game in parties. You blindfold the player and let him touch and eat the if eats the fake maggots
