The lesson here. It really is beneficial to play one deck. Not only do you learn your own deck like the back of your hand. You learn how to deal with all the other meta decks you run into. I'm doing this right now with a Gruul Legends Bo3 deck in standard. So much fun to use.
Exactly!! Gruul Legends sounds like a fantastic choice for Standard right now! And playing the same deck over and over again almost gives you a specialist feeling towards the deck. The other person saw a video and copy and pasted a deck, but specialized knowledge of your deck is going to make their sloppy plays that much more sloppy!!
Cheers for the video! For some reason, after the bowmaster nerf, I feel like I'm absolutely getting whipped on ladder even though I'd also expected it to be a buff for us. A little surprised you think Wizards is a difficult match for us, though. I mean, they can have the god-draw and run us over for sure, but overall my record against them is a smooth 31-16 in my favor. Our cheap interaction in portable hole and glass casket and our ability to outlast them through Esper Sentinel, Innovative Metatect and Retrofitter Foundry just absolutely hoses them.
I always feel behind against Wizards... but when checking the winrate at the end, I have a 5-1 record against them, lol... Maybe just my fear of that deck coming through. I'm trying to think about how you are getting worse results now after the nerf. Maybe it has something to do with Azorius control being that much stronger now?
@@coffeestout I think it's just drawluck, really. Very durdly hands forcing a mull or two with my opponent having heaps of removal or otherwise great hands. Today's going better so far, though I'm going to knock on wood to make sure I didn't jinx myself xD
I’ve been trying out historical lately due to casually watching a few of your videos. I’m a returning player and the standard meta decks are expensive for me. I have some older decks I used to play that I’ve remade with some of the newer cards. If I post them would you mind giving some advice?
The deck showcased here is actually a work in progress from a budget version with 0 rares in it! It's not quite as consistent, of course, and its mana base needs work, but it should be enough to get you to plat at the very least: ruclips.net/video/38Cz6Gfn1IE/видео.html

Maybe this helps. I did add recommision to the deck in order to reanimate Lurrus.
@@coffeestout i'll definitely give it a shot!

@@1who4me Awesome. Mind if I give this a go? Maybe have a chat about it?
In the first match, you missed lethal by not making a 1/1 token after opponent decided to play Mana Flare and let him live with 1 life 13:42
Good catch! Thanks!!
Have you done any budget historic decks for people looking to get into the format?
