Really great way of thinking about cost & ‘value’! I’ve been thinking about how when we look at deck lists, we usually see top competitive decks that want to squeeze every bit of value out to increase their odds of winning. Nothing wrong with that, but idk if that’s something we should hold as the golden standard of deck building if we ever want this game to grow
Always good to see passion in the game we play. Just want to give tunic a bit more credit. Tunic resource is an instant resource. You are able to use it when blossom can't. I.e reaction step, threatening a pummel if you got one floating already. The beauty is you don't have to use it. Also paying for the null rune to stop game ending arcane damage when you can't use action points. It is true when 2 aggro decks face off, tunic is the not right, but if one deck is control, tunic's value can be game winning. Like your content, keep it up 😀
great video but i was still kinda wondering about the weirder budget descisions that have to be made. right now ive been on a sandscour "budget" list a friend helped me make for azalea and it feels like the value and potential lost from not having cards like codex/premeditate/new horizon severly hamper the effectiveness of the list, and makes it feel like theres not really another choice budget wise that doesnt just demand i spend ~30-90 dollars on a playset/equipment piece. im not really sure how to feel okay with some of the budget replacements (like memorial ground for frailty) when i lose out on blocking, the ponder token value, and the frailty in some matchups. it feels really significant
@slyrytang yeah you should probably just slowly upgrade your deck in the most cost effective way. Not having premed/codex is rough but if you can buy red in the ledgers for less and get similar value from them then you should probably buy those first. The cards that give you the least value per dollar should be added last.
@slyrytang if you're looking for specifics I can go a little more in depth on discord rosebud64209 you can dm me on there or if you're in the fab seattle discord just @ me
I believe you shouldn't see equipment this way, Skullbone Crosswrap let you do much more than 1 value per turn. Sometimes you don't have an arrow, and you're only able to get it with Skullbone. Sometimes Skullbone lets you find your key arrow (like red in the ledger against ninja) faster and that changes the game absolutly Also, sometimes with Azalea you need to use your death dealer with a full red card hand and you cannot do it unless you pitch a red (-3 value) OR you use a resource from your equipment (like tunic / blossom). This is 3 value when you use it correctly. The fact that Blossom is usable at any turn makes it very close to tunic (specially on blitz). It's much less valuable tunic than skullbone on Azalea. But with other decks the fact that the tunic resource is avaiable at instant speed makes it much better than blossom. The value is then more about the actual gameplay change than the actual math value of each card. Sorry for the long text lol
@@gasparzuker I agree. Please do your own math and come to your own conclusions about card value and make your own decisions on your deck upgrades. That's the whole point of the video! Thanks!
I don't know, we're still talking about randomised cardbord product here. you're implying there's actual monetary value to the concept of in-game value, it's a supply and demand thing. tunic, cnc and codex are played in multiple classes and the rarity system introduces an artificially created low supply. Which is why i'm fine proxying lss into financial ruin, actively subscribing to a pay-to-win mentality does not mitigate card prices in the long term
@hanitschi this video isn't really about the concept of money and how capitalism is ruining society. It's more of a practical guide to actually being able to play the game irl. You should spend as much money on the game as you feel comfortable with.

@@flashfish1 tunic is obviously better than blossom, I just don't think it's 100 dollars better
