Young adult male here. Seeing Ethan listen to Faith about her view on receiving emotional love through just having thought behind things, (48:40) is probably one of those things to go unnoticed and under appreciated. I think a lot of people can get a lot out of what Faith’s saying and the way Ethan is listening, really healthy habits and cool to see 🙌🏻

As the parent of a near 4 year old….the house is tidy overnight. From the second she’s awake to the second she goes to bed it’s a battle just keeping it somewhat clean 😂

I have a 5 year old and 20 month old… I have to stop myself from cleaning up toys and colouring utensils throughout the day, it’s literally pointless… but the second they’re asleep at night it’s almost therapeutic to clean up everything knowing it’ll be good for at least 8 hours lol

I think if you listen to Faith's points it somewhat comes across more like a millionaire believing they can simply pay for love - at what point is 'providing' as a millionaire simply 1. you wanting nice things for yourself 2. Money comes easy to you so its an excuse not to do more than expected.
Her point about an 8 grand gift being nothing to him comparatively or him saying she can do up the house is two arguments backing that.
I agree with you obviously, I just think if your love language is 'providing' when you are a millionaire then as a partner - as faith suggests - no real love is being expressed in that instance or at least it can very much feel that way.
@@Lilianastil Idk if it would be acts of service as so many times faith would say that Ethan excuses not doing a lot of the house work by saying he's tired from football which I think leaves a lot of unnecessary load onto faith. Then when faith asked if she wished she could ride her horse more Ethan said he trains at 8am so if she wants to ride her horses at 8am she can - but that doesn't make sense because it doesn't matter what time you are putting aside for your hobbies if when it comes down to actually do work around the house you are 'too tired'.
That instance of faith crying at Simons wedding when she was carrying all the suitcases and olive sticks with me because it seems like the load is always unevenly placed on faith and Ethan always dismisses or has an excuse to brush of faiths very reasonable arguments. So I think it is more so 'providing financially' as @bexandaiden1111 has said as if it were acts of service then faith wouldn't - at least by her own admission - have to do so much work unevenly.
Perhaps Ethans idea of what being a father is is skewed by him not having a father? Believing fundamentally his role is to pay for the bulk of things and that is enough (traditional father mindset) but who knows. He is very loving and means well - that is obvious - I just think men can do so much better to elevate the sufferings of their partners by just being a bit more compromising on their own leisure. Equally faith should be more firm when asking for things to change.
But that is just my opinion as a viewer and supporter from what I've seen from their relationship - I'm sure all is not as bad as it may seem as it is very clear that they both very much love and support both each other and their daughter 🙏🏽😊
