It should've been LT. One one that made sense at the time was hill because he was on a big winning streak when they announced him as one of team Canada's goalies
Canada's goaltending is very weak compared to the U.S. Binnington and Hill are no match compared to Hellebuyck and Oettinger. Canada's offense better come to play in this tournament. Otherwise, its the U.S's to lose
Scheifele is the top goal scorer of all Canadian players. He's flirting with being the top goal scorer in the league, before the break. And he's a center who's improved his defensive play and play making. If Canada doesn't win the tournament it's gonna be a minor scandal.
I believe he was injured when the team was selected but Barzal is one of, if not the fastest skater in the NHL and the most important factor in these tournaments is speed.
@@lAmCanad1an Have you looked at the US roster? Crosby is old. This whole team is riding on Mack and McDavid. That's barely enough to get an NHL roster to a cup. Volume of talent doesn't mean anything. People have to play their positions. Only 6 players will be in the top six. And if old man Crosby/Marchand are in the top 6 the team is doomed.
Eh, the whole thing as a concept was poorly planned so don't fret too much. The league somehow managed to design a showcase elite event that leaves out the number 2 player in the world because he's German, Ovechkin, Kucherov and Vasilevskiy because they're Russian, Necas because he's Czech, and Josi because he's Swiss.
I don't understand how your mind works. Virtually every tournament leaves out talent. Neither of those countries have a chance in hell at winning olypmic goal. This tournament is very much a lead in tournament for the Olympic games.
@@dixonhill1108 In the past 5 Winter Olympics the Russians won a gold and a silver, the Germans won a silver, the Slovaks won a bronze, as did the Czechs and the Swiss. But if you want to understand how my mind works, the NHL and the IOC are different organizations and the NHL's principle concern is the market the game in the United States and Canada, not to showcase an IOC qualifier. Even as a Knights fan, This season honestly hasn't felt consistent, despite us being in the top five of the league standings. And Adin Hill has not been at his best this year, having a Save Percentage just above .900. So yeah, questionable decision to having Binnington and Hill. (And yes,I 'm still bitter about trading Thompson to the Captials, and trading Nick Suzuki to Montreal in 2018 for Max Pacioretty.)
You question Binnington , his play recently...his play the last several years...save % etc. I agree he never should have been picked. Problem is you basically blame Sweeney ! Why do think Binningiton is on the team ?? Same reason Parayko is on the team and shouldn't be...DOUG ARMSTRONG !! Head honcho for the blues. Ironically you end video by claiming it will be better at Olympics when Armstrong is in charge. Come on these guys shill for their own players usually to the detriment of the team.
Let me blow your brain. By the time Russia is allowed to compete again, Russia will not be the 3rd best team in the world, but probably be behind Czechia. War isn't great for developing talented hockey players. Nor is the rapid demographic collapse in Russia. Russia disqualified itself from international sports and by the time they can play again they will not be a top 4 team.
They ain't making the season shorter. By your own admission regular season hockey is meaningless. Your opinions about international hockey are a joke. The vast majority of humans like and enjoy international tournaments. The olympics is next year, and this tournament will in all probability lead into deciding the winner of the tournament. Teams that blow it in the 4 nations tournament will blow it in the olympics. You don't understand competive sports if you think playing competitive hockey before the Olympics isn't critically important to winning olympic gold. All you can do is promote the edgelord nonsense, where in reality you're not just a hockey fan. You'd probably watch potatoe races if it was a team in your city. You don't like competitive hockey, you're not an actual fan of hockey deal with it. You try to pretend you're some great hockey purist, you're not. The players value Olympic gold over a stretch in the season that is largely meaningless. The relaity is you're either not a hockeyfan, or too lazy to realize great competitions aren't great off the bat. THere's a real possibility these mid winter tournament turns into one of the biggest events in modern sports. YOu know this of course so you have to grandstand on some hockey purist narrative, a hockey purist narrative that doesn't correlate to any other behavior in sports.
Who should be Canada's starting goalie at the 4 Nations Faceoff?
I move for the secret fourth option of resurrecting 2016 Carey Price
@sharkhaos_probably I feel like if you strapped some pads on his bad knees, he'd still be better than Binner

Canada will repeat their junior's team fate
Facts, maybe they’ll learn how to start putting together rosters again after that
No they wont.
It is generally very idiotic to nominate the rosters several month before these games...

in other news: who cares?! no russia no slovak no czech...etc...lol...yawn
Leading Canadian goal scorer not going and the Vezina runner up not going either....brutal 😮
Barzal, Scheifele, Marchesseault… to name a few others.

Get rid of Bruce Cassidy and bring in Logan Thompson over any of the 3 goalies lol
