Pile 2 I know exactly what the snake is. It's my internal toxic critic. I have CPTSD and have been working through it over the past couple of years now. We all develop inner critics and outer critics through our lives as a form of protection. Our inner critic polices ourselves and the outer critic polices everything and everyone in our outer world. CPTSD comes from long term abuse and the internal critic will take on a lot of the narratives of that abuse both about ourselves and other and it turns toxic always attacking either ourself toxic inner critic or others and situations toxic outer critic. Part of the CPTSD recovery is quieting that toxic critic. When you start on that the first one to tackle is usually the inner critic and we do that by having compassion for ourselves and shadow work and learning to love our broken selves. But what also happens is we get more self protective and that can ramp up the toxic outer critic telling us no one new is safe. New situations are not safe, that the outer world in general is not safe. And while that might be true in some instances the toxic outer critic just makes that seem true for everything. I know my toxic outer critic is having too much power and influence right now. So it's making me not want to connect with anyone new or new situations. But it won't be that way forever. I'm still working on feeling safe in my own space and energy and this is probably the first time in my life that I've felt that safety in my own space and own energy. That's starting to get easier and feel more normal for me. So next step is working to quiet that outer toxic critic but recovery is very slow going and trusting others is not an easy thing for me to do. It's a process. Pile 2 I know exactly what the snake is. It's my internal toxic critic. I have CPTSD and have been working through it over the past couple of years now. We all develop inner critics and outer critics through our lives as a form of protection. Our inner critic polices ourselves and the outer critic polices everything and everyone in our outer world. CPTSD comes from long term abuse and the internal critic will take on a lot of the narratives of that abuse both about ourselves and other and it turns toxic always attacking either ourself toxic inner critic or others and situations toxic outer critic. Part of the CPTSD recovery is quieting that toxic critic. When you start on that the first one to tackle is usually the inner critic and we do that by having compassion for ourselves and shadow work and learning to love our broken selves. But what also happens is we get more self protective and that can ramp up the toxic outer critic telling us no one new is safe. New situations are not safe, that the outer world in general is not safe. And while that might be true in some instances the toxic outer critic just makes that seem true for everything. I know my toxic outer critic is having too much power and influence right now. So it's making me not want to connect with anyone new or new situations. But it won't be that way forever. I'm still working on feeling safe in my own space and energy and this is probably the first time in my life that I've felt that safety in my own space and own energy. That's starting to get easier and feel more normal for me. So next step is working to quiet that outer toxic critic but recovery is very slow going and trusting others is not an easy thing for me to do. It's a process.
