  • An easy and fast beanie to make in less than an hour. Sized for the premature baby looked after in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in hospitals. This pattern takes very little yarn to make. My personal pattern is provided along with a video to guide you.

    I am ashamed and disappointed to hear all the negativity on this free video . I was more than willing to replay and pause where needed and now have several cute hats. Thank you for taking the time to make this video .

    I agree Sherrie D. These people on RUclips upload their talent to share with us a video of how to create something, and i see complaints about the music, complaints about the speed, some would rather hear tedious talking. Arrghh! The more I’m around people the more I like my cat! Thank you for the beautiful video❤️

      @@sheilasluss7744 as I agree with you that the utubers could put a little more thought into the finer details such as this one, you can slow your speed down in the settings ( the 3 dots top right of the screen select speed ,i often slow the vids when trying to follow them

    This is a wonderful easy pattern.
    The #8 yarn is approximately a Dk (double knit (UK) weight) or
    A #3 weight in USA.
    But,honestly you could use any weight yarn or hook. Making the hat Larger or Smaller.
    For premeeies just use an Apple or Orange to try it on for the fit or to model your darling creation !

      Jan Keeling hopefully you've found out by now that 8 ply is approx equivalent to dk weight, aka #3 weight yarn.

    Yes it’s too fast and the music is too distracting. Are there printed instructions or a video with voice.?

  • @grantharper6033

    Hi. Great pattern and video but can I make a suggestion? Zoom your camera out 20-25% so a) you’re hands don’t look like they’re gonna jump out and smack us, b) watching so close makes some people feel sick and finally c) you won’t keep going out of frame which defeats doing a video.
    Hope I haven’t offended you as that was not my intention

    Mine fits a Barbie doll head. I used Bernat baby yarn. Should I have done more rows?

    • @gailduncanhere
      @gailduncanhere  7 лет назад +1

      Did you use a DK/8ply yarn and 4.mm hook? The pattern is for a preemie baby so would come out small. You can easily adjust the size by the amount of chains to the depth of hat you want and also the rows to the width required. Try using a thicker yarn and larger hook. Good luck!

      This was made for a newborn in 8ply yarn. Try using fingering weight yarn. Adjust the cast on chains and total of rows worked to fit baby. No magic formula. Trial and error.
