All these boats today are great fishing platforms, and as a former Skeeter owner, the cutaway bow on the Skeeter makes it great for maneuverability while fishing, catching less wind and water when the trolling motor is down. That said, no boat rides better than a Phoenix. Gary Clouse is the best hull designer going, and has been back to his Stratos days.
I've got a 22 FXR 20 and I love it. It's had some electrical problems but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. The hull is so good. Such a clean beautiful boat. Is there a better looking boat?
Went to the Houston boat show two years ago. It was smaller than normal and I only saw a Phoenix, Skeeter and Ranger. The Skeeter and Phoenix were just shy of 100K and the top of the line Ranger was 105K. Those are not bad prices are they? And here on my home lake from my perch above the water, I see a fair number of latest model top shelf bass boats. So people buy them.
While there is no doubt that Skeeter makes a great boat as a recreational angler I can’t justify spending $90K when I can get a Nitro for about 70% with most of the same features: swing tongue, step up, tons of storage & tons of the same little extras found on these really expensive ones. I’m on my second Nitro and If Nitro is good enough for KVD & EE than its good enough for me. And don’t bother to comment about ‘free boats” since both of these guys could be sponsored by any boat company they wanted to and they are with Nitro …
@@sethbeussink9158 I’ve been running my Nitros a lot longer than the 1 year they do before they get their new boat & I literally have not had even one issue with the boats. I had a hydraulic pump on my jack plate fail but that’s a Bob’s jackplate & with the 3 year warranty itv was replaced for free. Also those guys put more miles and more abuse on their boats in one year than the average recreational anger does in 10 and they still hold up. That itself is a testament to the quality of boat. Any bass boat can look good if you have 50 hrs on it over 3 years but these guys are at the extreme and they still have no issues …
I’ll just say I’ve heard more bad stories about nitros than any other glass boat brand and if I’m going to spend that kind of money I’m not going to spend it on a brand that has a suspect reputation.
@@sethbeussink9158 well I don’t know what to tell you except that many times there is a lot more to “stories” than meets the eye. I couldn’t be happier with my Nitros & since I’m retired I’m literally on the water every week with them. there’s no way I’d ever spend $90K on a bas boat when Nitros are still available …
Skeeter needs to heavily up there quality control . I’d like to buy one but I definitely will not until they sort out there wiring and attention to detail as well as start using quality parts in assemble . Skeeter charges a premium without delivering a premium product . It looks good when your 10’ away but when you get up close and know what your looking for it’s not very pretty in there .
Wouldn't it be better if the live wells were round inside? Maybe square is okay for bass but it's bad for bait fish, they'll jam up in the corners instead of swimming around and around.
I've always heard that if you have to ask you can't afford it, and that's definitely my situation. Nice boat but I'd rather have a little catamaran hull.
MY 25 year old Champion is still going strong. Same equipment and i fished a lot of local tournaments. Now with 100 thousand bass boats with live scope etc its just not worth it for the average wage earner bass fishing person.
Great quality, great time to plane but their lay out and room in the boat is horrid I got in a 21 footer felt like I was in an 18 foot boat and they dont ride for crap I'm big waves, They need to make the boat wider make the gunnels not so wide they eat up to much of the width inside the boat.
I like how you describe everything but i wisj your camera guy would focus and show us what you are looking at a taling about he just keeps the camera on you the and we dont get to see what everything looks like
My old Ranger is my last boat. I've only a season or two left in me. Then my fishing buddy and best friend inheritance shall be all my gear.
I pick up my zxr20 in 2 days and can't wait. They are awesome boats.
Nice. Yeah they're tough to beat.
Dude. U are in very good shape for someone over 60. Good for u man.
I like the color combination on that boat. Good looking.
Great job repping for Skeeter in this video. You and Skeeter work well together.
Thanks for showing that nice Skeeter boat. Good video.👍
Thx Roy
Really nice boat and trailer 👌
Right on Randy, I’ve fished in them all, before I purchased my Skeeter FXR20 love the ride and fish abilities
I have a 2018 zx250 and love it so far the ride and the fit and finish is great

Super super, super super, super super. Randy can you describe Skeeter boats? Yes they are Super Super! 😂😂😂
Very nice boat, lots of room for a livescope up front! 🤔😂 just pulling your chain Randy. They make a really nice boat for sure. 👍🎣
Hey Randy, I haven't watched in a while, you seem to be buffing up💪🏽
Skeeter has always been one of the best looking boats in my opinion, top notch performance also

Skeeters are nice. I went with a Phoenix this time around.
I love my 2020 version!

Beautiful boat but unfortunately I don't have $90,000 or able to finance one. Absolutely insane what a new bass boat cost!!!!!
How many have the money ?
Called boat wrx in Osage beach awhile back and quoted me on a fxr 20 for 99000. Way too high priced so I ordered a Phoenix for 20000 cheaper.
Very nice, now just throw about 5 livescope screens on that bad boy and we are in business!
LOL!
I knew that was comin ..
😂
Na wouldn’t want to ruin it
@@randyblaukatintuitive I know it 😆 I just know this crowd!

Those guys also aren’t running those boats long enough for most problems to start occurring. They’ll sell it for the next guy to deal with

I see it has a great front end for mounting live scope/panoptic electronics!!!
😁😂😂😂

It’ll never be a Ranger! Even tho there not built in flippin anymore it’s like getting a Camaro when you really wanted a corvette
What are you going to do since I heard that boat works went out of business?
Best rough water boat period
I think the camera man thought you were for sale because I didn't see inside half the compartments you talked about.
I love skeeter, but their quality has been slipping. I saw multiple new boats last week at my dealer with all sorts of gel coat issues on them.
the Best is the One you can Afford and I Love Skeeter BUT
AS ALL of the Rest... It's Over price in my view... So No
Cant afford it Randy. Whats your recommendation around the $50k and below budgets? Thanks
A used Skeeter with good engine compression or a quality aluminum rig
Curious as to the MSRP on this boat with all the accessories you mentioned?
I've always heard that if you have to ask you can't afford it, and that's definitely my situation. Nice boat but I'd rather have a little catamaran hull.
@@comfortablynumb9342 I already know I can't afford it. Like I said, just curious.
I’m gonna guess 101k
Well over $100k
@@ralphhentges8023 already figured that, was trying to get more specific. That seems to be a secret. Thanks.
What a beautiful, fantastic bass boat. But I'm guessing it costs upwards of $50k?
Lol. Try in the $90k ish price frame.

Best bass boat ever? Lol don't think so.
And the price is what for that puppy.

My next boat, dumping ranger.
MSRP pushing 100k and some models surpassing 100k is an absolute joke
Awesome boat. But as a disabled veteran on fixed income, I'd be pressed just to buy a Jon boat. 😢🙄😅
I'd take ya fishin!
Me to brother!
If your ever in wnc just holler go all the time!

Your camera person should learn how to shoot video. How about showing the boat instead of just showing the person talking. Very poor video!
LOL! I said basically the same thing.
A bit excessive. Why not a Jon boat?
LOL!
Got one the biggest piece off junk I have ever owned
