**OUR MOST ASKED QUESTIONS ANSWERED**
Q: Does Steven ever not like anything? 😂
A: Of course!! First of all, we have been married for 19 years and I was not always good in the kitchen. In fact, I was a pretty terrible cook for the first 12 years or so. So there were plenty of times when neither of us liked what I made. But I've gotten better at picking out meals that I'm pretty sure we will enjoy. I don't just go pick a recipe and cook it. I read through it and research different variations before I deem it a good one to try.
Secondly, if we were to not like something I would NOT show it here. Solely because I want to share only recipes that we would recommend. I don't want to waste your time, or my time (editing) on a recipe we would never tell anyone else to try. We've only had that happen once - and I got rid of the footage we had filmed (which was so sad because we took time to film it).
I hope that answers that question! Remember also that we only film 3 meals a week. The rest of the time we have our family favs or go out to dinner.
Q: Where did you get your chopping block/ cutting board?
A: Our friends gave it to us as a Christmas gift. :) They had a friend who made them, so it's not something that I can link to as it was handmade.
Q: What knife do you use?
A: It's a Pampered Chef knife that I've had for over 10 years. It's still hanging on!! :)
Q: You made a (insert recipe name here) one time, how do I find that video again?
A: Type in the RUclips search bar - "Mandy in the Making (recipe name)" and it should bring up the video where I made it. Click the video and then check that video's description box for the recipe. I tag all of my videos with the name of the recipes included so they are easily found. Hope this helps!

SUBBIE SUPPER CHICKEN TORTILLA SOUP from Jen
1 rotisserie chicken
1 can black beans
1 can corn
1 can fire roasted tomatoes
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 can green chilies
1 can red enchilada sauce
1 cup chopped cilantro
2 cups chicken broth
1 packet taco seasoning
Combine all in the crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours! We top ours with cheese, sour cream, sliced jalapenos, and tortilla strips! It's perfect for a lazy fall day, or even a football Sunday!
*Our edit* - We made this on the stovetop. We sauteed some onion before adding all the other ingredients into the dutch oven.

Great soup recipes. Here in Scotland we have a long tradition of soup making. I make all sorts of soup but the more traditional ones are still the best. Scotch Broth, chicken broth, lentil and bacon, potato and leek etc. We serve soup with a sandwich as a standard lunch but soup in the evening is usually a starter to the main course. We serve soup with crusty bread/roll, usually buttered. Can I also that i have a little garlic roller like yours but in blue, I bought it as a european farmers market complete with a little dish that had a rough surface, which enabled you to grate the garlic. Pronounce the Worcestershire sauce as Woostershir sauce lol. Thank you for the new soup recipes xx

As I was searching for fall soup recipes, I thought about you and your recipes, so here I am on your channel watching thd e soup recipes. I'm so glad I found your channel. You always have the best "sounding" recipes, more than anyone else I've found. I just love you and you husband, and of course your son. You all seem to be so happy and that makes me happy. So many people at your ages, eating dinner together is not heard of anymore. Fast food is the ruination of our country and the people in it.

I cut corn tortillas in strips and fry them in a bit of oil and sprinkle them with salt. And don’t forget to squeeze some lime juice in that soup before serving!

Here is a very easy recipe called French onion pork stakes .... 4-5 pork stakes (the long thin kind) 4-5 potatoes cubed 4-5 cans French onion soup 2-3 cans of green beans drained put everything in LG. pan bring to boil then lower to simmer and simmer for3-4 hours no need for any seasoning the soup does it all it is so easy I don't like pork but my sister tricked me in to tasting it then told me what it was hope you like it I am from Fraser Michigan

I adore stuffed peppers! Probably 20 years ago I began the Journey of making a stuffed pepper soup like I had at a little cafe in the Massachusetts Countryside. I would say 10 years ago I finally nailed it but it's hard for me to pass it on because I didn't measure anything. Someone would have to watch me cook and write it down which I have done before for a cookbook when I lived in Morocco.
Mandy you can make a substitute for buttermilk from regular milk
1 TBSP vinegar + enough milk to make 1 cup. Let stand for 5 minutes

It’s funny that you made the comment about subscribing if you continuously watch videos. It baffles me, but at the same time I understand and am guilty of doing just this. As a RUclipsr and someone who watches, there are a few things I see.
1. I think a part of it is just pure overload since as you subscribe to more channels your timeline becomes more convoluted. I’m struggling with the same thing, as I’m sure many others are. I watch several videos on a channel before I subscribe to make sure I really want to subscribe. Doesn’t make sense to sub and then unsub because the channel isn’t what I thought it was.
2. I’ve also been on channels where I finally subscribe and then the person changes the content I subbed for or just goes MIA. That bugs me a little, more so the content change. Everyone needs a break so I get it. I’m sure I’m not the only person that’s experienced that. Nothing wrong with growth, but people came for the thing you’ve been posting about all along. Don’t just stop suddenly doing it OR expect your following to change or take a hit. In the same line of thinking, sometimes people’s interests change and that affects us also. But, that’s natural and should be expected.
3: There are going to be channels doing similar things (and I think this plays the biggest part), but it gets to a place with all of the collabs and shares that everyone is literally doing the exact same things and is being exposed to the exact same audience (it’s like a bandwagon effect). It gets old after while. If I subbed it’s because you had something unique. If your suggesting a channel and I find that they are literally making the same thing you made last week, this week, I likely will not subscribe, even if I watch a video here and there. It’s redundant. So I sub to who does it better or to who caters more to my interest of actually creating/making homemade recipes. Nothing wrong with collaboration with like-minded channels once in a while, but maybe it will help to expand in the collab space.
This was long-winded, but definitely something I’ve observed also and have been curious about. Glad you brought it up.
I love your content & I saw a vlog where they trash u & Steven that's just so sad. They are very cruel! 😪😪I am so sorry people are like that Mandy. Just ignore it & keep up the great work. I have to get motivated to cook. I'm soon to be 60 & I feel old lol when I stand there for awhile. I finally got rosemary & thyme which my Mom never used & I have smoked paprika & the regular, cumin etc so I'm trying to expand my horizons. I'm still catching up on all your vids & hope u just show all those who are haters that your subscriber base will still grow! I even got sciracha! The chicken soup is my daughter’s favorite. I use the same recipe. It’s yummy! The only thing I don’t do is add the hot peppers, or that kind of cheeses...it’s all good though :)

Hi Mandy... I'm new to your channel. Love all of the recipes. I have a question about the chicken tortilla soup you made in this video my fiance and I aren't fans of cilantro. I know it could just be left out, but what can we use ( if anything) in place of it. .
You know I love your cooking but not everything is good wish something would flop.....
So happy to see stuffed pepper soup. It's my favorite! I also use that same veggie chopper and boy does it save a lot of time and energy lol. This soup is actually what I'm making for dinner tomorrow. I'll have to try it with the sausage, because we usually just use ground beef.
