    KC fans, cherish this time you have in watching your QB play. I grew up in Chicago and was there during the Jordan years, it was awesome.

      I live in the KC area and grew up on the Bulls because it was the only NBA we got locally on a regular basis. That said, I remind my friends and fellow Chiefs fans all the time about how lucky we are currently. It was lame watching the Patriots dominate for so long and recently we’ve kind of realized how we are the Patriots now and how much hate the Chiefs get now compared to 2019/2020 when everyone was loving us.

    I promise you anyone paying attention to the big 12 in 2014-2016 knew this kid was something else. Guy was on a 5-7 team that scored like 50 points in every game and lost most of them due to Kliff Kingsbury's disinterest in fielding a real defense. He was throwing absolute lasers to nobody receivers and just shredding everyone.

    • @redcloudgamer5383
      @redcloudgamer5383 9 месяцев назад

      The bar is not 7. That's not how it works in team sports. 7 is an absurd number. Is it possible, yea, obviously it's been done so it could theoretically be done again, but it's unlikely regardless of how good a single player is. 7 would give it to mahomes without argument, but it's not needed. At least in my opinion. For Mahomes to usurp Brady as the GOAT, he needs either A, at least 5 rings and another 2 mvps. Or B, at least 4 rings with either a 3peat or the illusive perfect season.

    Chasing Bradshaw at 4 isn't the same as chasing Montana at 4. It's like comparing Jordan to Robert Horry. They aren't equal parts even though Horry has more rings. I think the same will be with Brady and Mahomes. Brady may have 7 and be second all time in many stats but if Mahomes gets to 5 and is light years ahead of Brady (which he is on pace for) in all major stat categories, I don't think there is a discussion. Sure, Mahomes needs to longevity and if the NFL keeps protecting QBs the same way as in the last 10 years, Mahomes can play until he is 40-42. 14 more years of Mahomes? Yikes.

    The Chiefs were literally picked to miss the playoffs by basically everyone but Nick Wright last year. They are hardly ever favored in the media or the betting lines in big games. Even the narrative around the Baltimore game is how Baltimore beat themselves instead of how Andy and Spags forced Lamar and the Ravens to play a game they couldn't play. They didn't forget how to run the ball, they were terrified of the game getting away from them and felt like they had to go downfield in a hurry in case Mahomes put up 30+ on them while holding the ball for 9 minutes a drive.

    I think one of the advantages for Patrick is he happens to be in an organization where the owner has shown/proven he enjoys winning. He wants to continue that legacy for his organization and for that to happen he has to build around Pat for years and years to come. I mean, Clark's dad is a legacy in his own right for creating the AFL, eventually merging to bring about what we know today as the AFC/NFC. What Lamar did with the team has allowed Clark to build upon it and create the status of what it is today. Lamar wanted to fill the stadium. Clark wants to do that AND be a winner at the same time.

    Mahomes has improved so much this year with a weaker team around him, just like Brady and Peyton did in their careers. Josh Allen was unbelievable in the play-off game but Mahomes was clinical in taking the Bills apart. I can't wait to see what comes next from this truly great QB.

    You can't just assume Pat would have been Pat if it wasn't for Andy . He needed the right coach in the right situation. How many coaches would have tried to drill the "Pat" out of him because THEY weren't good enough to nurture his special talent. .

    • @STEALTTH7
      @STEALTTH7 9 месяцев назад

      I think Pat would have been a great player anywhere, but not acknowledging Andy Reid is a huge part of it is important. I still see Allen as a more talented QB, but he plays for Sean McDermott who is just not the caliber coach that Andy Reid is. 13 Seconds is solely on the coaching in that game and that team has blown so many games defensively in the crunch. I think if you put Josh Allen on the Chiefs, he has just as many championships if not more. Buffalo would still have zero.

    Brady was largely the product of luck. Down 28-3 to ATL and the Falcons choked away +1 to Brady. Not giving the ball to Lynch on the goalline +1 to Brady. The Rams forgetting their Offense in Los Angeles +1 to Brady... his 7 could EASILY be 4 or 5. Still great, but let's not pretend he won all those games, he was just the recipient of some incredibly dumb luck.

I want that OTHER guy!! who the hell is that guy for Texas Tech??!!"Jeez!! we were laughing our butts off at how good he was... later on I read up on him and saw my Chiefs were really interested in him in the upcoming NFL draft.. I told everybody and anybody who would listen, that if the Chiefs get this guy he will set the NFL on fire..night of the draft when they traded up the announcers were saying Chiefs were going to take D Watson, but watching with friends I said NO WAY- they are taking Mahomes!next thing you know?...ha! .I've had friends and customers tell me they remember me talking him up when he was still in college- its not that I'm some soothsayer- ANYBODY that has been watching football for years could see this kid was gonna be something really special...AND... there was a photo on the Arrowhead Pride website with Patrick Mahomes, Clark Hunt, Andy Reid, Brett Veach( I dont believe John Dorsey GM was in that pic- he might have been) and it was taken when he was still at Texas Tech and the caption read " Is this The Chiefs QB of the future?" I need to go to Arrowhead Pride and see if they have that photo in their archives...I think it was taken when he was visiting KC before the draft...

    Plenty of teams play B- ball until late in the season and then go on to the Super Bowl.
    I can think of 2 immediately:
    1. NJG with Eli Manning. Both Super Bowl winning teams were not very good until the end.
    2. The Bengals under Joe Burrow. People forget just haw poor their offensive line was and how bad that defense was. I don't think they even won the AFC North that year.
    3. Even the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under Brady were not very good until some time in November.
    I am sure there are many other examples of teams who were roughly 8-6 and went on to the Super Bowl.

    Brady had to beat Joe Montana for the 🐐 status when he won 4 in SBs(4-0 in SBs btw)
    What does Brady do? He goes to 10 SBs and wins 7(in the Salary Cap Era)
    Mahomes will have the stats there is no denying that but alot of great QBs have Stats
    Mahomes has to at least match Brady in Rings and show that he can do this at a high level for almost 20 years
    We shouldn't change the rules when Brady had to get at least 5 rings to beat Montana

    I hate this idea that Mahomes needs the same number of rings as Brady to be considered the GOAT. Neither Jordan, Lebron, nor Kobe have the most rings in their sport and yet I'd wager 98% of people would call one of those three the GOAT of the NBA. Rings matter, yes, but having the most? No. The GOAT means you have the hardware, but also that you were able to lift your team to greatness consistently.
