Great video! Farish windows look so much better - I’ve just ordered one from Kernow for 22 something. Hatt’s have some too new at that price - wouldn’t want to pay much more, though.
The Dapol Autocoach is much older than the Farish model and is a far more basic model in comparison. It wouldn't sell if it was priced any higher; the new Farish price is unbelievable though! Thank goodness for sales.

That's the full retail David, plenty on ebay that are discounted. But prices have risen so much the last 2 years. I'm glad I got most of my stock before that happened. Ron doesn't seem so steady on his pins these days. It doesn't help I ran him over with a 9f. I forgot I had left him on the track. How much is left to do? Just details now. More lights, people, cars, telegraph poles, signals.
Interesting, but evidently inflation has fallen! I have to say that both looked great running around. Funny story time! Years ago I had to go to Blackburn for work and, luckily for me, as it was the second Tuesday of the month and the moon was blue, I found a first class special cheaper than a standard class ordinary! So I get to Manchester Piccadilly having enjoyed "the lap of luxury" sort of! I find which platform the Blackburn train is on and wander over there. There is a single carriage at the platform, so I ask the guard where the Blackburn train is? He informed me that this was it, and, the first class section was the front 4 seats!!!! Seriously though, they both looked good running around. If, as I've read from other posters, the Graham Farish is £20 more than the Dapol, well, I'd chose the Dapol!!!
I do like both. The old GWR livery and the more up to date BR. Fortunately yo udon't have to pay full price for either. Not many people buy them and the yare heavily discounted. Second hand the cheapest on ebay today is £1.20, if I wanted one that's where I would start. As to Piccadilly that was my first train ride from Whitefield. I have no idea why, I can only guess it was to hospital with my eyes. I'm so long sighted I can see into next week, alas not the lottery numbers.
Inflation hasn't fallen, it's slowed. Inflation by nature can't fall, that's then called deflation. And don't forget that Inflation is cumulative, so the 10% + jump we experienced last year means that 2% now is a lot more in terms of actual £ than 2% 2 or 3 years ago....
Hi Simon! Yeah, Farish prices are definitely crazy at the moment! I think you're right, the Farish version looks a little better, but without eBay, I'd definitely be going for the Dapol version! There are rumours that they're going to dip their toe into the world of N gauge, which I hope they do, as competition is the only way prices will ever come down! Cheers, Ian.
I love an Autocoach combo, and have many in my collection that I have detailed - These look fab but not 50 quid fab 😁 Did we see a comparison between detail packs, or did I miss it being dazzled by this Stunning Layout. Liked and Sub’d 👍🏻✨
I didn't do the detail packs comparison, only that the GF had more bits. There are plenty on ebay right now, I think the lowest was at £1.20 so no need to pay full price. I do like them and it solved a problem for me not having space for a turntable or run around. Next job is to find a diesel railcar at a decent price. The layout has come along quite well in 10 months, it helps being small. I've had previous goes at doing one and have learnt from a few mistakes. It's now complete bar a few details. Thanks.

Der Sir, I hope you don't mind a random question? How do you find the set track Peco curved points? I am being forced to use them in an awkward place because of the geometry.
I've had no problem, in fact I quite like them as they do solve a problem where you have limited space. Bit of a pig to ballast but then all points are! Cheers

Thank goodness for ebay! Prices are going insane. I didn't know the Dapol was so old but I have found spares are a big issue.
