Yeah. I agree. But eitheir way she loves fancy metaphors sometimes and i love that she can do both in such a meaningful way. There is a beauty in the simple and a beauty in the fancy, you just gotta know how and when to use them, cause they are tools, and there is not a better one, the important thing is to pass your message and Taylor does it very well.

I'm pretty certain this is going to be the album of the decade, it's come at a really important time. You can't fault any song. It's complex, layered, emotional, beautiful, personal and perfect. It's music to save us from a world covered in pain.

I know that a lot of people consider this to be the worst song on folklore but this song is just so magical and beautifully written. ... Where are my hoax stans at????
Edit: You can see that this is the least-appreciated song in the fandom. This was the first song on folklore to leave the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was the lowest charting song of folklore on said chart in its first week. It's also the least talked about on social media and one of the least viewed lyric videos of this album on RUclips. Hoax honestly deserves more love.

Folklore is a masterpiece that you can listen to in any season, but it just feels more special when it's raining outside and you're playing this album while slowly sipping hot cocoa beside your window, pondering about what has been and what could be.
Happy anniversary to Grammy 2020's Album of the Year, and actually one of the best albums of all time.

When I first listened to this song, I didn't really have any feelings. It wasn't until I listened to it a few more times that I truly started to understand how intense it is. When she says, "I stood on the cliffside screaming give me a reason" it makes my skin get goosebumps. And, "You know it still hurts underneath my scars from where they pulled me apart" makes my eyes sting. You can hear the hurt in her voice, its chilling. It's hand down one of the best songs on Folklore

I slept on hoax, pease and mad woman. don't know why, i was a big fan of all the others but forgot about these ones. then i heard them reading the lyrics and WOW. i absolutely adore them. so beautiful. this is the perfect album.

In 2020, I had went through a very difficult situation that changed my life forever. My mom passed away, the very next month I was s*xually assaulted by someone I believed was my friend. My boyfriend at the time dumped me because of that (he was very religious, not an excuse but HIS excuse) and everything was falling apart to me. Taylor dropped this album 2 months later and I truly believe her music saved my life. I listened to folklore and specially this song on a loop for hours and hours cause my heart and soul felt nothing but pain, and this album gave me the hope I needed. The part where she says "you knew it still hurts underneath my scars for when they pulled me apart, but what you did was just as dark" was something that resonated with my situation a lot. Now, 2 years later, I still listen to folklore and give it a different meaning but I can't help to think back to those dark, twisted days. Now I'm healing, now I have hope, and I am doing it for the 19 year old girl who wished this pain would stop someday. It does.
