- It's about time I got back in the saddle with these videos again! If you've been watching the Altoona Adventure videos I mentioned this incident in Day 1. Upon finding out about this while making that video I thought "huh that'd make for an interesting video" months later I finally tell this forgotten tale on Germany's attempt to sabotage America's mainland.

Hold up, was that scene of the reanactment from the 2022 WWII weekend in Reading, PA???
As was the footage of the warbugs. The B-17 clip was from the same event 1 year before
@@Thunderbolt_1000_Siren I’m a reanactor at that show every year! Glad you enjoyed the show! Hopefully you had a great time there.
@@zacbaker2696 I wanted to go but was busy fighting the yanks for the Royal Crown
if I was in ww2 I will get as much knifes as I can
and throw them at Japanese people trying to attack Hawaii because I want to go to Hawaii
I screamed YES after seeing this. I have a feeling this had something to do with World War II.
Of course it happened in world war 2
Man, as soon as you mentioned Hoover I was like "this man is about to be a jerk again, isn't he?" And he was. Because of COURSE Hoover was.
Americans will read a story about enemy saboteurs landing on their shores and then say "hmmm yes, the real villains are the government officials who protected America!".
Absolutely incredible.
Damn it’s history in the dark
Hoover was one crooked human being
Yep. And one of them died in Ludwigshafen where I'm living.
@@ALCO-C855-fanbro that was you i’m was made before you
A very nicely-done job, as always. Speaking of Germantown, it reminds me of a story I'm currently writing about a (supposedly) haunted house within that neighborhood.
Is it the house where the 150 British held their ground during the 1777 battle?
@@insertnamehere1258 I don't believe so. The house I'm writing about is the one where a British officer was wounded outside by friendly fire, taken into the house's front parlor, and died laying on the floor.
Me: *whatches the full series of accidents years later*
Thundervolt1000siren: *uploads a New video of accidents years later*
Me: finally i missed this series!!
same dawg!
Know that he needs a lot of time to make these, as he has a life outside of RUclips.
I love this! I am fascinated by WWII and train accidents. You should consider studying the Balvano train disaster that happened in Italy 1944 where 530 people died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to a stalled train. It is still considered Italy's deadliest railway incident.
While the topic tends to be tragic, the presentation is anything but. Glad to see another very well done documentary.
I heard about the Horseshoe Curve was a target in WWII from History Channel's Extreme Trains: Coal Train. But I didn't know the full story until now. Awesome documentary.
I watch these with my cousin alot and we love the series, glad you’re feeling up to it again
Hi Thunderbolt! I was just reading about this plot before the video! You did a extremely good job explaining the whole event and the details. 👏
I feel bad about the dude who didn't want to do the mission and turned them in, He should have gotten at MOST 10 years
Why do you feel bad for a Nazi?
@@natowaveenjoyer9862 Did you even watch the video? The dude who turned himself and the whole group of people in, HATED the nazis, and didn't want to do a mission for them.
I remember reading about this operation in my 2019 Trains Magazine Big Boy special issue, and it was definitely very interesting to read about
After reading about it during production of my Altoona videos I was like "I gotta make a video about this!"
@@Thunderbolt_1000_Siren hey I just noticed you used the call of duty black ops one zombies theme damned for the credits and I’m surprised Xbox which bought activision this year didn’t give you a copyright claim
@@Thunderbolt_1000_Siren Btw is the Saboteur movie that the movie where they say SS Normandie was a sabatoge
@@Bon-so4rc the SS Normandie did not capsize at its dock by sabotage she sunk from a fire by careless men converting her into a troop ship
@@P42_foamer IK That but in the Move Saboteur they imply she was sabatoged
I'm glad you are back, great content on these incidents. Started with the Big Bayou wreck and watched the entire playlist multiple times
After 5 months and years later is back
I love this series, it just keeps getting better I can’t wait for the next one 👍.
I see you were at WW2 Weekend as well! I volunteered on Saturday as Flight Line Safety and got up right up close to the planes, moving them around and out to the runway and directing traffic and other things like that.
Honestly I really enjoyed watching and listening to this. You mostly explained it more differently than any other history channel which made it better. Well done!
missed this series, nice vid. suggestions: 2007 kerang train and truck level crossing crash or 1969 southern aroura crash
I remember first hearing about this in Extreme Trains with Matt Bown. Excellent job as always.
It's a good day when I see an upload from this channel.
WWII Train wrecks are very interesting, I'm very pleased about this.
This wasn’t a wreck, it was a sabotage operation that failed.
Stupidity got me
I think out of all your documentary’s this is the third best 1st goes to the Chase Maryland Remake 2nd goes to the doodlebug video, cause I also like the history of wars, just as much as I like the history of the railroads and certain locomotives 🚂
As someone who lives in the greater Philly area (Lehigh Valley) I appreciate this
BRO! THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!
Nice job Thunderbolt!
When the world needed him the most, he came back!
good job thunder this is one of the best videos you have made so far
I loved this video and would love to see more videos centered around operations that took place during wars
Good to see some WWII weekend footage in there my man, glad to be able to go again this year. Congrats on your channels success homie, take care
Thanks! You too!
Yes can't wait for this video. Good job thunderbolt 1000 siren production
Thank you so Much for the video ThunderBolt 1000 Siren Produced
Incredible job with the documentaries man! It's a shame I would've joined in with the live group.
This is my favorite one yet! I always loved your historical train disaster videos and now interconnecting my two favorite interests made a really great video!
He is back, my God how I missed you my dude!
Great documentary, thank you very much! 👍🏻👍🏻
Such a great video keep up the good work
I have this Story Never never heard of it.
Thunder I love your historical videos!
10:57 I grew up in Amagansett. We did touch on it at school, but it's honestly surprising how little this incident is mentioned outside of a spot in a local maritime museum and the historical archives kept in our library.
Amazing buddy
Here for the Premiere
Let's all appreciate that Dash never wanted to do the sabotage at all and prevented something that could have caused the allies to loose the entire war
I’ve been to Fort Ontario twice. A little town that most don’t know about - Fair Haven - is a half hour away from Oswego. But I never heard about this story. I will remember this.
Thr story has been forgotten overtime but videos like this hopefully make sure they aren't. Mark Felton also does that job VERY well too
@@Thunderbolt_1000_Siren oh trust me, Thunderbolt. I watch Mark Felton too 😆
Might be an Interesting story
What makes this video funny to me is the fact that Thunderbolt 1000 Siren Productions uses the Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies main menu theme for the ending of the video. But still, that operation was even funnier, considering the fact that the two agents who turned themselves in, were able to just nope outta the Nazi Party.
Hitler: "I WANT YOU TO BLOW UP AMERICA!!!"
Agents: "Okay."
(When they arrive in America)
Agent 1: "Well, being a Nazi isn't fun. Wanna defect?"
Agent 2: "Sure."
Keep up the good work
Thank you thunderbolt
do the 1984 Williston, Vermont Amtrak derailment
Cool story!
never heard this story
HE’S BACK!!!!!!!!
Hey nice to see that your back again also a great video honestly of of your fourth best 1st is Cajon pass 2nd fox river Grove and third is 8888 incident
Trains = Gods.
Planes = Devils.
Welcome back years later documents
"First to fall was Austria in 1938-"
Czechslovakia in 1936: Are we a joke to you?
What do you mean Czechoslovakia in 1936? Czechoslovakia would only cease to exist in 1939. When the nation was dividend into the German protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and the Slovak republic a German puppet state onder Jozef Tiso.
Finally another train crash documentary
Your editing has improved a lot!
Guy took the bribe and still reported them that’s absolutely hilarious
Honestly one of the funniest parts of the story
The Call of Duty soundtrack was a good addition to this video. Well done!
It was honestly quite fitting
As an avid war thunder player, I’m visually pleased at the use of footage from war thunder (thx thunderbolt)
You're gonna give Mark Felton a run for his money man
I also can’t wait for the 611 Documentary and the Penn Central Commentary video
I hope to see another engines of septa episode, how long has it been since the last episode?
ROCKS ON THE TRACK😲
Very nice and informative video, @Thunderbolt 1000 Siren Productions :)
*sees the part of 9/11 mentioned towards the end before the credits*
Ah-ha.... so you will be doing a video for of 9/11 in the near future?
When there’s chapters, you know this is big.
While i do think the executions were overkill this is a very good telling of an intresting story i wouldn't have found otherwise
World War 2 and Trains, two of my favorite things to learn about.
Are you ever going to document the N&W 611 derailment on the banks of the Tug River in West Virginia? That derailment almost caused the 611 to be scraped.
The best
what was that song at 3:20 It looked like It was from one of the real time strategy games In command & conquer
This prevents me from suicide so thanks for the content
im not used to one of these videos not being about a train accident but this was still a great video
I knew in the show weird warfare, it did show how Axis attacked the USA directly without setting foot on soil like how the Japanese had weather balloons with bombs.
Germany with their submarines on operation drumbeat. But you don't hear many stories about attacks on us soil but man that's some documentation.
as someone who is intrested in WWII history and rail history. I really liked this
Outstanding, sir!
OMG 😆 the hotel window segment I’m rolling on the floor laughing after hearing you mimicking Germanglish.
I like how while he was talking about German Aircraft, he showed clips of War Thunder
Strap yourselves in, Thunderbolt's going to war!
Good video and explanation of this botched German operation.
I love history and the learning of past events that I never knew.
So, I enjoyed this video and learning all the details about this operation.
Well done!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can you tell me what happened because ldk what happened.
My son who is a history fanatic had no idea about this until watching this video
Good on Dasch for having a conscience and not condoning Germany's vile behavior.
Awesome documentary
The Hellgate Bridge and Grand Central Terminal were also targets too the plan was to blow parts of the Pennsylvania RR mainline now the Northeast Corridor which was crucial to troop traffic and the subbasement held electric generators powering trains that could easily be destroyed by throwing buckets of sand inside.
that coastie was a smart one
Thank you, just, thank you
Interesting. I'm pretty sure this was covered in a W.E.B Griffin book.
this video is the best! keep the good content up please.....?
I think you might want to look at how the USS Barb obliterate a Train.
One minor correction. Germany didn't declare war on America until a few days after America declared war on Germany. Hitler did not want war with us until Russia would be defeated because he knew with Russias strength and America's power of influence throughout the world at that time he couldn't have a chance if both of the worlds two supper powers joined the war at the same time. Still a very well done short documentary. In my opinion the best one so far!! You sir and anyone who helps if you have help a rock boss in my opinion!!
Judging by the ending, will there be a similar documentary video next year called “9/11 22 years later”?
You could've used superelevation for the derailment simulation in Trainz (Superelevation twists the tracks at an angle and makes the trains look as they tipped over)
And take note that Superelevation only works in T:ANE or newer
He uses Trainz 12 I believe, so that's a nope.
@@griffinrails He actually used TANE/TS19 according to the credits
Glad your making videos again. When is the next train wreck doc coming out?
LETS GOOOO
Noice
Never heard of it lol
*"HE'S BACK!!!!"*
I'm not German myself but oh dear, those name mispronunciations.. especially Neubaeur
I tried :(
9:59 I recognize that "panic in the streets" footage! "The Day After," the attack sequence!
Very good eye! Indeed it is!
You should do another train crash video: The Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus Train Wreck 104 Years Later, although it would be belated because I was gonna tell you but I didn’t do it yet
