- Milan Cathedral or Duomo di Milano is the cathedral church of Milan, Lombardy, Italy.
Dedicated to the Nativity of St Mary (Santa Maria Nascente), it is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan, currently Archbishop Mario Delpini.
The cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete: construction began in 1386, and the final details were completed in 1965. It is the largest church in Italy-the larger St. Peter's Basilica is in the State of Vatican City, a sovereign nation-and the second largest in Europe and the fourth largest in the world.

So amazing, very beautiful! Only one m3 rock is 1.5 tons, only one m3 marble is 2.4 tons, only one m3 wood is 0.7 tons! How did they carry materials to build it and the other such magnificent architectures? By horses?😀

ειχαμε κλείσει ξενοδοχείο και αεροπορικά εισιτήρια για Μιλάνο , και μόλις τότε μπήκαμε καραντίνα λόγω κορονοιου , η δε Ιταλία ζούσε δράματα στο Bergamo και σε όλο τον βορρά , κι έτσι δεν πήγαμε ..και τα χάσαμε όλα .δεν μας αποζημίωσε κανείς . κρίμα .! αλλά δεν το " κυνηγήσαμε " το θέμα , γιατί ο κόσμος πέθαινε σωρηδόν , και το θεωρήσαμε πολύ "φτηνό " εκ μέρους μας ...κι έτσι έμεινε η υπόθεση "Μιλάνο " ...
