She's very passionate about the subject, she's just a low energy introvert. Also, the camera is a sapper of enthusiasm, so you need to be even more energetic to just come across as "normal" on camera.
Lauren, I can't wear heels. Doctor's orders. I need advice as to how to look business appropriate or dress up appropriate without them. Just a suggestion for another video. I'm sure they're lots of women like me.
I personally love the look of patent brogues / oxfords with a nice suit + pants at the work place. I find it super empowering and sophisticated :) or if you prefer flats, i'd suggest getting something patent with a pointed toe, it really elongates your legs / makes you look taller, with a nice collared shirt, and skirt + matching jacket, looks awesome!
I continue to enjoy and learn so much from Ms. Lauren Messiah!!!The Style Type Series really helps one to define their style, piece by piece, you begin to figure out which type resonates with you the most.
I'm so glad that I found your channel a while back. You keep it professional and informational which I adore. Also btw I love this series. I've watched every single one.
She always sounds like she over it in all of videos like she dead inside..I keep watching because I love fashion and she has some great pieces and tips other than that i try to tune her out because she makes me cringe when she talks about the stuff ..but great tips in this video🤗🤗
Teasha Mcgowan my thoughts exactly. This is the first video that I watched from hers, and I’m just thinking the least she can do is show a little enthusiasm, or know the brands she’s showing. Ehhhh. Not sure I want to watch any more
@@laurasilveira9522 just because she isn't the typical American influencer all in your face screaming loud mouth, doesn't mean it's a bad video. It's her energy, that's how she operates and if you're here to get style tips or be entertained by a clown is up to you.
I pretty love everything about this video. Your voice doesn’t disturb me as you seem like a quite straight forward and sarcastic person ahah. Loved every look, tho would have loved some flats!
Perfect edgy classy purse for business: coach dreamer in black pebbled leather with smooth leather and gun metal accents...bars and tiny round studs say edgy! Crisply tailored with two outside pockets that don’t look like pockets.
This has been a super series. I recently subscribed and I'm so glad I did. Thank you for answering so many subscriber questions and doing this series. I'm looking forward to watching more of the videos I missed and watching the current ones.
I love the edgy classic look, but Laurens take is not enough "classic" for my taste. Check out Letizia from Spain, now that is a really great and tasteful, grown-up version of "edgy classic". Love it, and it is much more sophisticated than those very ripped jeans and see-through blouses!! Lauren, love your videos anyway!
sis whatever you're doing with your entire lewk keep doing it! you look really young (in a good way) even my daughter could be your friend and I don't even have a child!
I really love your videos. You're my fav. fashion channel to watch on YT. I'm much in love with the style type series and I was wondering if you ever decide to do more in the future could you make an urban/street chic style type video giving tips on dressing for this particular style.
The last style type, Edgy Classic, is definitely me. But way too much black and neutral colors for me. I'm drawn to deep hues and quirky prints so that's probably where I personalize it.
Can you do a style series on plus size? I'm misses on top and Plus on bottom and have a hard time especially because I'm an edgy classic. Thanks Lauren.
She has two video up for bigger on top and one is bigger on the bottom, I had to watch both and get the tips and just add my edgy style to them, hope this helps
Hey Lauren, I am about to leave on a 3 week business trip. Can you give ideas of what to pack where I can mix and match and minimize the number of pieces that I pack. Love your videos- you have transformed my closet!
I like this look, I can see how it looks cool, but I would not wear it everyday, maybe on special occasions or when I am feeling edgy (which is not often)
I'm 19 I'm un collage and I'm a nanny so I wear veeery casual clothes, can you do a style type of that? like with converse, jeans and the casual but helping me and other on how to use it and not being around like you are in yours pjs. Thankssss
Is there an edgy look with colors? Would you consider like a red leather jean edgy ? How can I incorporate edgy but with other colors instead of black?
Love this video. Especially the gold skirt! On my channel I talked about sequins. A black sequins shirt and a crop can work as edgy chic as well. Mixing in 2 style types
Your shoes are patterned pony hair. They are a hide but not real pony. I would love a pair like yours in a wide width leopard pattern. They look really comfortable. Are they? What will you be covering next after Style Type? I find your videos a relief from the other lifestyle ones.
I'm a year late, but better late than never I guess! Edgy Classic is closest to my style, for the most part. BUT, I will NEVER wear high waisted jeans!!! I'm lucky to be thin and in pretty good shape, and I'm proud of my flat and toned, stretch mark free abs...especially since I'm recently divorced. I still run some of my outfits by my ex-husband, before I go out, to get a man's opinion. He has a good style sense, and I can trust him to be perfectly (brutally) honest! LOL I find the cutest crop tops but won't wear them without a cami or something under them, so I (usually) refrain from buying them. Other than the high waisted jeans, I loved the outfits, especially yours (sans so many rips in the jeans for ME)! I'm loving this series so I hope you do another version of it soon!
Marti Brown I thought the same about high waisted jeans for a long time but they look especially flattering on thin ladys with a toned stomach. I noticed that I got more compliments on the outfits i incorporated my high waisted jeans. Mine are in an olive green. So maybe you should give them a chance😊
Maren Asb. - Hi Maren, thanks for the reply! Maybe if I found some that fit really well, I'd change my mind. Yesterday I tried on some from Paige, and also a pair of KUT from the Kloth. I felt like my hips looked bigger and my saddlebags were screaming "look at me!" and I'm not overweight (5'4" 114lbs). I'm sort of lucky, in a way, to live in a state that's WAY behind trend (Oklahoma). So I'll keep rocking my Rock Revival skinny jeans until I find the perfect pair of high waisted jeans! Do you have a brand suggestion for me to try?
Shit, I like how I clicked on this not knowing anything about the channel or this series and found out this is the last vid of it. Lol this is awkward.
I am a very edgy person and not a lot of people know. An easy outfit is: Top: white or black top (doesn't matter if long sleeve or short or tank top) Bottoms: green or blue or black jeans that are cropped Shoes: adidas Extra: a button up (preferred to be white or black)
I think she can have someone else do her videos... But maybe personality didnt hit the gene pool. She got some good points though. Some people are just focused on what they think... thoughts for me, right... thanks for the vid edgy classic! Boom got me tho!
No offense, but you sound so bored. It's hard to listen to someone who doesn't sound interested in their own video. Just some advice for future videos.
Why do I feel like she is talking to us like we are idiots for not knowing fashion??lol. Something about the way she talks just sounds very rude and passive aggressive and like she is annoyed that she even has to be there talking about this shit.
Sis, that isn’t edgy, that’s casual and classy stuff. If you want to achieve edge, use a lot of rips, safety pins, studs, belts, boots, oversized clothes, hoodies, bracelets, necklaces, and just a whole lot of black with possible splotches of neon or bright accessories
This has been a great series!! However, when it comes to ripped pants, I think no one older than college age should wear them----Looks like trying too hard, IMO--- :)
Zuza Hicks - Have you complained about the leather bags, shoes, and apparel? I understand that someone might have an ethical issue with the consumption of meat and the use of leather, but to focus on only one item seems doesn’t make sense. Either go all in, or borrow an approach from traditional Native American philosophy: honor the animal that nourished you by making sure that none of it is discarded, that all of it is used for something.
@@altitudeiseverything3163 beautiful reply. I believe the same thing too. In the past, ppl would use every part of an animal, now not so much which is sad.
Cool video but she doesn’t seem interested in what she’s saying
She's very passionate about the subject, she's just a low energy introvert. Also, the camera is a sapper of enthusiasm, so you need to be even more energetic to just come across as "normal" on camera.
Settings wheel --> playback speed --> 1.5
Finally a minimalist wardrobe video that's youthful and sexy but still elegant and timeless. Love it!
Lauren, I can't wear heels. Doctor's orders. I need advice as to how to look business appropriate or dress up appropriate without them. Just a suggestion for another video. I'm sure they're lots of women like me.
Lauren had an older video on flats...look it up! :)
I'll see if it answers my question fully, which is how to find flats that work for dressy occasions and corporate settings.
I personally love the look of patent brogues / oxfords with a nice suit + pants at the work place. I find it super empowering and sophisticated :)
or if you prefer flats, i'd suggest getting something patent with a pointed toe, it really elongates your legs / makes you look taller, with a nice collared shirt, and skirt + matching jacket, looks awesome!

Yes. This is my style with a minimalist twist.
Lauren, do a series on clothes for body types! I'm very short and I have problems folding my jeans to wear ankle jeans
Thank you!! I have been trying to give this style a name.

At first I thought she was just constantly stoned because she talk so slowly lol. But her advice is really good so I keep watching :)
You should watch it at 1.25 speed or higher
You can give constructive criticism without saying mean/hurtful things. Cheers x

Same but with a minimalist twist. I love the black and white aesthetic.

Is there an edgy look with colors? Would you consider like a red leather jean edgy ? How can I incorporate edgy but with other colors instead of black?
Going from emo/punk rock style as a teen to now 24 and edgy but chic 😉

OMG I'm so in love with that grey jacket! I don't think you mentioned the brand?
It's Michelle Mason. Found it on Outnet :)
I adore your videos Lauren! this is me 😉
Is there such a thing as edgy romantic? I’ll combine leather pants with a flowery top .. . .
Yeah , Katherine Pierce built my attitude and style and that's why im here ...😭

Where is the Valentino Rockstud?? Cant believe this is your style and you don't have one in your purse collection video. Love your channel
Haha! I have the Valentino Rockstud shoes :)
