Diana expert here: NO Chanel for Diana. They can make a “Diana” bag all they want, but Diana did not wear Chanel because of the interlocking C’s. (Imagine Chanel’s despair they were rejected by the one and the only Diana.) I actually read a bit of an article recently that spoke of a Chanel outfit Diana wore. She didn’t! Obviously I can’t say she never had one on, but she did NOT do Chanel. In recorded interviews only released after she passed, she says she did not wear Chanel due to Charles and Camilla - THEY enjoyed the interlocking C’s for their own initials and Diana couldn’t bear it and we couldn’t bear it for her. (Remember the interlocking C’s cuff links he wore ON THEIR HONEYMOON??!!!) ALSO, I thoroughly enjoy Shea’s videos, my only “problem” and it’s not a problem, it could just be me, is that I really enjoy the few channels I do watch when I am waiting somewhere for something or someone, where women speak as they speak if you were right there with them, instead of the sort of, choppy “So, here I am...wearing...a...white...blouse...” and there is sort of a syllable added to the words that are even ONE syllable. Just relax and talk to us as if we were sitting right there with you enjoying your take on things. Again, I am a subscriber and enjoy your sense of humor enormously! One of my favorites to watch is Alexandra Anele. She gets a little off color sometimes - fair warning - BUT you would swear you are sitting at the table with her as her speech pattern is so comfortable and normal and confident. She’s all about make up. She’s gorgeous. Highly recommend to all. Had no idea I was going to push another channel on someone’s channel but I am just making a point. :)
What are you talking about, there are literally pictures of her wearing a chanel suit, she just wouldn't wear anything with a massive double c on it after the divorce, but that doesn't mean that she didn't wear chanel at all
No offense, but the Marilyn outfit didn’t seem much like her to me. I think her pants were a little more tailored but without being tight, and the shirts were tucked in. She often wore belts to show off her waist too.
Finally- Right on point Shea!! The classic style of these ladies (Chanel, Hepburn or Kelly) is timeless and will be forever fashionable- surviving all "showy" trends. And isn't it wonderful how a simple string of pearls, real or not, elevates your outfit instantly? The other day I saw a lady at my local grocery store in her jeans and white t shirt and a lovely single strand of pearls ..real? not? It didn't matter.. She looked instantly "elegant"! Thank you for highlighting these forever icons of timeless understated elegance.
Diana loved wearing Chanel! But after her marriage was troubled and Charles was carrying on a long affair with Camilla she stopped wearing it because the double CCs in the Chanel monogram reminded her of them.
Just to chime in with fashion icons, my all time fave is Jackie Kennedy. She loved wearing bold layered pearl necklaces, (which it still very on trend today), and cute cropped jackets with a matching skirt. Love, love that look!
@@user-nb2sn6id4r interesting... I don't know about the other languages - do jump in if you do! - but in British English the emphasis is on the first half of the word, e.g. MON a co.
I definitely think Jackie (Kennedy) Onassis should have been included, she is absolutely, without a doubt, most assuredly a major fashion icon of our time 🤔
For those intimidated by a red lip- don’t go with a glossy formula, it tends to look more “shouty”. Try a matte or powder finish lipstick, the ones from MAC are the best IMO.
The gloss can smudge as well and look nasty maybalines superstay liquid lip is really good it doesn't come of I use moisturiser too get it off you only need a thin layer

Thank you for sharing your outfits that are actually lower in cost. I watch a lot of fashion videos and it's rare to see walmart pop up- and look so good!
I live in a small town and our shopping options are limited. I very rarely order anything from the net…I like to keep my tax dollars at home. I also am retired on a small, fixed income. Having said all of the above, I will and do shop at Walmart, and it’s not rare for someone to compliment me and ask where I bought an item. It comes down to knowing how to dress my body. People are always surprised when I admit to shopping at low end stores. Also I dress in a classic, timeless style…..even though I’m basically an old hippie. Looking good can absolutely be done on a small budget.
Interesting fact: Edith Head was the costume designer in Hepburn's first movies, and she decided put an scarf on Audrey for the Roman Holiday, because she thought Hepburn's neck and collarbones weren't pretty, so if you check some movies, you'll see Audrey wearing scarfs, turtle necks or big necklaces, to hide that.
That _is_ interesting, Alexajani! I wonder if she herself was surprised to find that she had helped Audrey create a whole new way with fashion as Audrey truly did look sweet and sophisticated like that... :)
I thought that although Edith Head received the film credit that is was Givenchy who made the clothes in that movie. I do know that he made most of her movie and personal wardrobe.
Audrey Hepburn clothing was primarily designed by Givenchy. The most famous little black dress in “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” and her costumes in “How to Steal a Million” just to name a few are classic styles she wore well. I personally love a white shirt or white Tshirt with a jacket & jeans.
I have a tip on red lipstick, instead of looking for the typical shade of red that everyone wears, first find out you skin undertone. Finding your undertone makes life much more easier when it comes to fashion and makeup. If you find out you have a warm undertone, use a warm shade of red, if you have a cool undertone, use a cool shade of red. If you are neutral or ivory, find a shade of red that has the same undertone.
Hi Shea. What a lovely video! Style is something we should never ignore. We all have mirrors, look at the pic there and add or take off certain things.
Audrey Hepburn is my favorite! She always wore pencil pants, a nice fitting sweater or white button up shirts with the collar up and the sleeves rolled up, her hair tied back with a small scarf and flats. I also like Amal Clooney.
I feel like bigger sleeves made my waist look bigger. Must revisit. I wore necklaces that had long backs so much in early 2000's with backless shirts. Be careful with the red lip. Ones with orange tones can make your teeth look yellow. Blue undertones won't. We need some bright color in 2021!!!
Hi Shea! I just want to say how much I appreciate this video. Sometimes I feel that fashion is portrayed as looking just one way. It was really interesting seeing you pull from different important women who have an array of fashion taste! It’s a friendly reminder that fashion is meant to be fun :)
You look great in that magenta colour! Have you ever had a seasonal colour analysis done? I’m curious what you might identify with as I think I have very similar colouring to you. Magenta and leopard print are my favourites to wear, too. Thanks for all your tips
No, no, no! You do not want to wear bright red lipstick. It is not you or anyone else I know. Calm those lips down and show how lovely they can be without the fire engine red. Have you seen teeth wearing this lip color? Terrible!! I don’t like pink either. A nice coral red is attractive with a dash of gloss. The eye of the beholder goes straight to the lips, so please suggest another body part to be viewed.
Lady Diana was beautiful but I always thought her style was super dated. It screams 80 and 90s to me, not classic. Grace Kelly and Audrey absolutely classic.
Actually, all of them had looks that are clearly dated today. However, there are elements of even dated styles that circle back because they are classic. I think some of Diana’s early fashion mistakes were due to the constraints of the crown and her being so young. People forget she was only 20 when she married. That Kate Middleton wears more fashionable styles is thanks to Diana, plus Kate was older when she married Prince William.
Dated yes. But the point is to take her verbal advice and adjust it for the times. Like in the video it was mentioned that Diana wore massive sleeves to make her overall figure look smaller. 80s sleeves are over the top, but if you just choose a wider sleeve that is well suited for today we can have the same effect (lantern sleeves are in, a less dramatic form of the puff sleeves are in too.) The point is to take her advice, not to dress just like her.
Diana' early style wasn't good, that wedding dress. She was only 20 when she got married and hadn't really found her own style. But in her thirties her dress sense changed and her style became more classical. Don't forget she was only 36 when she died. Oh my God !! I love all of them.. like all.. especially Diana is my favourite.. I loved the video.. just a micro suggestion, you could include the criss cross way Audrey Hepburn wore the shirt.. would really love to see you that way..

I didn't love the sweater, but the purple colour looked so good on you.
