@@ponchimunchy7444 yes but when you wear something like that, you know it looks cheap but you wear it anyway cuz you like it (in most cases). That's just my opinion. So chill :)
My first video I’ve ever seen of hers and yeah same here. She kept mentioning how expensive other things were (tops at $60 how that was ‘so expensive’) but I noticed never mentioned prices of lily silk despite half the video being about it. Upon googling, it’s because the top she’s wearing is $90. “Now keep in mind there are sales!” Yeah because you know your subscribers would freak out at the prices, it’s why she doesn’t mention them.
When someone teams up with a brand, yes they are now doing advertising for that brand in that video. It happens. She said she's been talking about them for years & been buying their products, so obviously Lily silk decided to have her be a spokesperson. Nothing wrong with that. I would do the same thing.🤷
When the supposedly "tips" video started endorsing a specific product then its advertisement / endorsement. Not to mention the using her code in purchasing... Other videos like this do mentions products but not limited to just one.
She's a fraud. Sorry. She's getting paid to tell people a bunch of made-up nonsense, just like most of these self-described "experts" on youtube. They say "this is out of style" yet you walk into any public place and we're all wearing the same thing. It's all a creepy cult. They want you to believe they are style gurus and they're really just trying to pay their electric bills, hoping to get clicks. Wear what you like. It's funny how men have absolutely no idea that women are all looking at "what the style is" yet not one of the men care, while women go blow thousands of dollars on clothes they can't afford just to impress people who really don't care what they're wearing.
I watched another channel- “mommies, makeup & moscato” - and they had a video about items that are dated or not stylish. Items like flats with round toes, wedge sneaker booties, skinny jeans, tie dye- things that everyone wears! It’s ridiculous and beyond annoying. Also so wasteful! Wear what you like.
Everything’s always an ad with her now. She’s always shoving something in our faces in every single video, she doesn’t post unless it’s sponsored anymore. She pretends she uses/wears all the Tat she’s pushing on us. She must think we’re idiots 😂
But what happens with clothes that are meat to be big. Look Hailey Bieber, she wore all the time clothes that look big on her, and she never look cheap..🤔
As far as gold jewelry looking too yellow or too gold, take a look at your doctor's jewelry. If your doctor is from India or Pakistan, I promise you they will be wearing exquisite gold rings and necklaces that are "too" gold. My second promise to you is that their jewelry is not fake nor is it cheap. My doctor's jewelry is so beautiful, it will take your breath. I understand costume jewelry can often be unnaturally glossy, but real gold really IS gold.
Yellow gold looks tacky on her because her skin has cool undertones, so anything silver or cool-toned looks automatically much better and more expensive on her than gold. BUT it doesn't mean that gold looks bad on everyone else too. People with warm undertones to their skin look much better with gold jewellery so this tip really can't be applied to everyone. It should be more like: Wear jewellery that matches your skins undertones to look polished ja put together.
switched off when I realized it is yet another sponsorship. too many of these lately and no added value for us on the other side of the world. I am sorry :-(
I've heard this more lately, about ribbed sweaters looking cheap. I really like the look of ribbing! Also Aritzia has uber popular ribbed tanks that look very put together when you pair them with office wear attire. Am I the only one who still really likes them? :'(
I still like ribbed items, I think it depends on the material more than the ribbing, if the color starts to fade it is way more noticeable on a ribbed sweater. Btw I have a sweater from Eileen Fisher, that should cost almost $400 and it's ribbed (I got it second hand of course). So no, ribbed does not mean cheap.
I wonder if it's specific to cotton knit ribbing? In the early aughts, cotton ribbed sweaters were EVERYWHERE and maybe it's a dated/overload thing. Plus cotton is classic for shrinking and stretching weirdly .. So not really amenable to ribs. Cable knit too, but people don't react to that as viscerally...
Sometimes ribbed items can look tight and thing, giving them a slight transparent look. They can look more like long underwear than a form curve hugging sweater! Haha
I am seeing this whole, "How to dress expensive!" all over. Not sure why they chose that verbiage, but it makes me think we should say, "Dress to look less...mug-worthy!" (If you look like your outfit costs $$$...muggers notice.🤔) I think we don't want to look tacky and/or disheveled. This woman looks classy, and well-put-together. I just don't get the whole push to look like you paid a lot for clothing. As long as it's clean, ironed, and fits well for your personal body type, (and occasion) what's the big deal 🤷🏻♀️
That's the point most people miss. Pressed, properly tailored items made of good fabrics that suit the occasion will always win the day. Most expert stylists will tell you fit and fabric are more important than label or price.
I bought lily silk pillowcases after watching a video by Anna Bey from school of affluence, and honestly I have zero regrets. There's so many beautiful pieces that I have my eye on. Don't hate on this lady for pumping their products, it's good quality. And no, I do not work for lily silk haha. Just to add, I have a top that has pearls and beading on it. I've had it for years and I just keep stitching the beading up when it gets loose. I don't ever want to part with it. Same for droopy buttons. Never undestimate the power of doing your own quick fixes instead of tossing an item, if you love it
Buttons are SUPER easy to tighten. I've done that to so many buttons including coats (with the proper string). So if you like a blouse or something and the buttons are droopy, you totally tighten them with needle and thread!
I have a denim jacket and I paid a fair amount for it. But, the buttons made it look cheap. So, I bought new buttons and changed them out, and now the jacket looks more expensive
My favorite sweater is a cashmere black ribbed v neck. I loved to watch your videos but honestly i disagree with 90% of what you say. You’re “stretchy fabrics” are not holding shape because they dont have enough Lycra. When the stretchy cotton knits first came out in the eighties they had no Lycra. They looked great when you first put them on then looked like hell as soon as you moved. Look at old footage of maddona in those turquoise stretch leggings with the saggy knees. If you are wearing jeans that stretch but dont hold there shape you are buying cheap jeans. Lycra is the best thing to ever happen to denim. Just a bit of Lycra and they fit so much better and you can sit and move around much easier and i am not referring to jeggings. As for shear blouses, they require a nice camisole. The best way to improve the look and feel of clothing it’s with proper foundations. Chiffons and georgettes are beautiful fabrics along with gauzy cottons and linens. Nothing cheap looking if worn properly.
The only thing I'm "doing wrong" is owning and wearing ONE ribbed shirt. Do I like it? Yes. Will I keep wearing it and don't care if this woman thinks it looks "cheap"? Yes. It's my choice if I want to wear something like that and that goes for everyone watching this video. Just wear what YOU want.
These are all spot on except I wonder who started the evil rumour that ribbed looks cheap...? xD Made with good quality and in solid colours it's such a perfect base for an outfit and it can be dressed up or down.
Well stated. It's all about the fit/cut and pairing, IMHO. I love my 'classic' ribbed pieces; they're versatile, figure flattering, and honestly 'on-trend' ATM. XO
This is just marketing for non ribbed stuff....I love ribbed everything and it has an elegant quality to it. Whatever makes you feel put together and elegant should be good enough IMO.
I just bought 2 ribbed sweaters. Since she says they're not in style and thinks we should buy the things she's getting paid to make up as she goes, I'm going to buy 2 more ribbed sweaters tomorrow. Her examples of what's in style are ugly.
I have two ribbed wool sweaters, both French brands, that look expensive and were expensive! I think it depends on the fabric. Ribbed cotton can look cheap or expensive depending on the item. Polyester, acrylic and rayon blends tend to look cheap because they lose their shape.
yeah, i have a black shirt that i love but had escandalous golden very cheap looking buttons, so i asked my sister to sew black simple buttons and now it looks amazing
Suggestion...at the beginning of the year, I turn my hangers so they hook backwards. As I wear clothes, I turn them the correct way. It lets me know what I am not wearing to purge at the end of the year.
Humm, I like ribbed sweaters better. Silk is not for everyone it shows everything. I had a blouse that was expensive, and you could see through it slightly it was beautiful, very tailored.
Have a few ribbed sweaters. Pulled them out to see If they looked Cheap- they do not but they are all a very wide ribbed natural fiber so I feel those are good....agree totally on cartoon characters- even on lux items (gucci).
Hi Shea. I agree with most of what you have said and am grateful for the extra tips that I did not have a clue about. You can wear cheap clothes and look good. One tip is to wear a cheaper dress with expensive shoes and/or jacket and so on and so forth. There are lots of tips as you know. It does have to be said, in my humble opinion, that I do not find Lilysilk to be reasonably priced at all. It is definitely not something I could or would buy too often. The bedding and pyjamas are lovely buy I feel as if those shirts look very frumpy and old fashioned. That is saying something because I am 68 yrs old and would not wear one. However, you look pretty in everything. Thank you so much for your video. I did enjoy it as always.
Commented this on an older video but want to comment on a new one since you're more likely to see the comment - just wanna say thanks as a deaf viewer for having properly and manually done captions on videos. Keep it up!
People ... take her advice with a grain of salt. If you love ribbed sweaters, wear them! If you want to sew on your buttons, do it! If you want to buy knockoffs, go for it and enjoy. If you don’t want to watch sponsored videos, click out! Wow I am shocked by the vitriol 🙁
Thank you Holly!! I really appreciate your comment! This is a totally free video for people to watch... purely for entertainment and simple things to consider :) No one has to agree or change anything!
IDT there was any 'vitriol' anywhere in the video; she wasn't 'spitting venom' over any of it. The content is based both on her job/position WHEN sponsored and feedback from subscribers, whom she's often- yours a fitting example- at the mercy of. No one told you, you personally look 'cheap' nor condemned anyone's choices. That's the beauty of REAL fashion; it's art. You only pick and choose the 'art' of your taste and liking;) XO💛
I have some slightly see through reformation blouses that don't look cheap at all. They are some of my favorites and I get a lot of compliments on them!
Yes i completely disagree with this video. There is a différence between not liking a trend ( like see through clothes or embroidered blouses ) and calling the trend tacky or ugly.
My husband is Ukrainian and was surprised to learn that those shirts would be called peasant tops in other countries. I don’t care for them unless it’s really the traditional embroidered shirt for holiday wear or special occasions
X’ed out of the video the moment you started attacking ribbed sweaters. I have chunky cozy cashmere ribbed sweaters that make me feel special and confident and not at all cheap. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way.
Their product is disappointing, as is their customer service. I won't purchase their products again. I wound up taking them to the cobbler and had the red soles reinforced. Cost $40 bucks, but I can at least now trust the product.
I own two Louboutin heels. When I got them (a decade ago) I thought they were so high fashion! I was so paranoid and careful wearing them because of that bright red sole. But now, I NEVER wear them anymore! They are so uncomfortable and I just can’t do a stiletto heel. I refuse to torture my poor feet anymore and put them through that trauma for the sake of fashion.
@@heidij7374 Yes, Sam Edelman heels are waaay more comfortable and the heel is not as high! They look great and classy, and I will never opt for discomfort or risk twisting my ankle (haha) with the CL’s again!
Another thing I don't like is when breast pockets start to sag. I think that looks horrible and will usually avoid buying blouses/shirts that I think will eventually look this way.
Use invisible sewing to close the top of the pocket, when you first buy an item with a chest pocket, as it's unusable anyway. Then it can't sag, but will still have the look of having a pocket.
I love my sweaters with beading & detail. I just use delicates bag in wash & nothing's come off. Sorry but I'd never get rid of them & I had lot compliments so they don't look cheap. Do love this video 👍
If your buttons droop, the threads probably just have gotten a bit loose. You can easily just rethread overtop their attachments to tighten them up. It's a pretty natural part of daily wear
Can you please do a video on laundry! How you keep all your nice items looking good/new. Do you have to take your beautiful silk blouses to the dry cleaners, etc?
You should take your Christian Louboutin shoes to the store they will fix them and put a rubber red sole that looks good and you can wear them a lot more
Shea thank you for being so honest and real. I’ve mentioned I’m 75 and although I’m retired and on a fixed income I love fashion and timeless clothing. You inspire me to make great choices. Do I wear silk ? No. Only because my lifestyle is more relaxed now. But,jeans I’m very conscious of how they fit and tops I try to make sure they look nice 👍 I’ve bought expensive bags and I will say I refuse to buy cheap dupes. So with that said I’ve had bags that to this day look like they are new as well as my clothes. I’m very careful how I clean them! Wrinkled cloths just look cheap on any level 🥵💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I agree. I feel if all you can afford is Walmart clothes, if you iron them with some magic sizing they will look pretty good. Wrinkled clothing of any quality just looks cheap!!
Taking care of your things will eliminate some of the issues that the video says makes them look cheap. Shoes can be cleaned and resoled. Buttons can be resewn to make the tight again. Proper washing and drying will make a huge difference.
DONT BUY SILK!! “ Extracting raw silk starts by cultivating the silkworms on mulberry leaves. Once the worms start pupating in their cocoons, these are dissolved in boiling water in order for individual long fibres to be extracted and fed into the spinning reel.”
I'm sitting at the table, eating a sandwich, feeling like garbage, unemployed, without self-esteem, using google translate to express what I feel, and what I feel is that it gives me a little joy that I have been following Shea for almost a year and (I don't know if it's good or bad) his videos remain the same, and it's comforting because it gives me the impression that nothing has changed, and it feels good.
Actual video starts at 4:45. And while the silk blouse is nice, polyester charmeuse is done so well, it can easily pass for silk charmeuse at a quarter of the price. And shiny fabrics really don't look expensive, unless you're getting married or the clothing is for an evening event.
whereas polyester/nylon/acrylic/spandex kills sealife, cotton uses tremendous amount of water, and rayon produces toxic waste that poisons environment. That leaves wool I guess, but I'm sure no one likes the sheep/goat/yak/alpaca/camels shearing either... plus problems with ethical labor in third world countries. And let's not even start on leather (or fur(!). My point is that, while being concerned about those things is great your main goal should be to lower the overall consumption of clothes because there is no fully ethical fabric on the face of the planet. (Well, linen is the closest, but no one likes the wrinkles). But good quality clothes last longer and reduce the waste so I have several thrifted silk tops and feel good about it.
@@horace6851 it's very easy to buy new/used clothes that don't contain animal ingredients. with a little effort one can find out if clothes are made ethically as well. just because nothing can be made fully without some negative impact, doesn't mean we shouldn't try to reduce it as far as feasible
The silk dress is a slip. It is meant to give a smooth silhouette under a beautiful garment. I know, I know. Maybe the brand is featuring it as a dress, but please, don't wear a silk garment in lingerie weight fabric as a dress. Ribbed sweaters are classic. You just have to get the right quality and fit. Yes, cashmere! Always a winner. I agree, sequins on a sweater or anything that is not evening wear, just looks cheap. Finally, someone admits cartoon prints are not for adults! If the buttons are drooping, just fix them. Or if you don´t know how, take the garment to a cleaner that does repairs and alterations. There is no reason for buttons to droop unless they were sewn on wrong or the thread is starting to wear out.
What about petite sizes at Lilysilk? If I’m going to spend $100+ on a silk blouse I’m not going to want to shell out more to have it altered and poorly fitting clothes look cheap...
Then don’t shop at Lilysilk? What is getting snippy with Shea going to do about it? I’m a petite person as well, but for the price of Lilysilk, I’m willing to take it to the tailors. To each their own, but don’t shoot the messenger.
Love these videos! On another note, anyone notice how Shea takes her time reading and replying to comments? And she writes very thoughtfully too...not just rushing through and replying "thanks!" to everyone. Whatta woman. ❤
Ha ha, the ribbed khaki green sweater you showed, actually looks nicer than those two other sweaters that are totally old looking and are the same as what my grand ma and her old friends wear all the time. LOL. Ribbed does NOT look cheap.
Oh my gosh, I will never understand the lux knockoffs. (I'm not someone who can afford high-end ether) I'm in a lot of crafting and etsy groups, and the amount of knockoffs I see made is crazy. Just because you put the Louis Vuitton logo all over your shoes doesn't make them any better looking and it ain't fooling anyone. I think its so trashy.
6:30 I love how she lumped embroidery, beading and sequins as looking cheap than shows a blouse that has sequins on it and how horrible it looks. That is the only example she gave. No example of embroidery looking tacky for an outfit or beading. Are there issues threads can get damaged and beading can fall off over time? Yes, but there is a thing called needle and thread. One should understand their clothes and learn how to take care of them. I have a strange feeling that sequin top looked cheap way before the sequins fell off. She bought that thinking that was stylish, but she thinks embroidery can look tacky... I'm really curious what kind of embroidery she thinks looks tacky.
I’m literally wearing a banana republic silk shirt (see thru-ish) and Express jeans that are stretchy (cuz I’m curvy and there the only jeans I can wear). I guarantee, I don’t look “cheap”. I feel like you can wear whatever you want and style it to look nice and not trashy. Or you can buy from her sponsors.
I think it depends on many other factors. Designer doesn't always mean better. If you know your body type and what colors suit your tone skin tone, it doesn't matter where or what brand the clothes are. This is exactly why I stick with solid colors/ neutral colors as I'm petite and can't wear bold overly bright patterns. Also big #1 that many people disregard, dress for FOR YOUR SIZE. Nothing looks cheaper than someone that wears something that doesn't compliment their actual size.
Maybe when pieces are missing/falling apart. My mom loves her some embroidery too! I give her tips on how to take care of her clothing. I honestly hand wash the majority of my clothes that are at risk of falling apart. I hand wash half of my wardrobe and machine wash the other half. If you have a newer and advanced washing machine than handwashing isn't 100% necessary.
Absolutely. I think ribbing can look too clingy and revealing on large-busted figures - like you’re trying too hard to look sexy. That look can easily slide downhill into “cheap” - especially when paired with something tight on the bottom. But on smaller chested, slim-waisted figures, ribbing can be flattering. My ribbed sweaters aren’t flashy - merino wool or cashmere in black, navy, and charcoal. My husband loves it when I wear them. Maybe it’s a guy thing - they like to see a woman’s form, and ribbing does showcase it. As usual, a full-length mirror and a realistic eye is your best friend.
Lilysilk looks so amazing and I LOVE the hidden button. But, I can not justify buying one... or two right now. I wear a uniform for work and hardly go anywhere worth wearing something this nice right now. Still feel like I NEED IT in my life lol
You're lucky do not buy any of the silk Blouses I did I cannot get the wrinkles out of them I steamed them I try to iron it it's terrible they're not that good quality silk they're real thick and not really that soft. She looks like she has those professionally steamed. So they can look nice on the video very sad spent too much money for a bad product
Great video! I hate the diaper bootie, but love a little stretch. I am so pleased that Lily Silk is now size inclusive. In regards to size, I find it so disappointing that many of the plus sized offerings have tacky prints, sequins and fabrics. I want clean simple lines in beautiful fabrics that do no accentuate my size. I think it is possible to look sleek, expensive and classy at any size, but it is more difficult if you are larger. This should go without saying but for the fat-shamers -I’m working on a healthier diet, exercise and am not thrilled with my size. I don’t know a plus sized person who is thrilled with his/her size and we shame ourselves enough as it is. On an unrelated note, how do you care for your silk?

Not to mention the using her code in purchasing...
Other videos like this do mentions products but not limited to just one.
Hahaha yeah
Hahaha yeah
All talk and limited product showcase as references.
Agreed..
Droopy buttons usually just need to be sewn on tighter! Just resew-don’t donate!
That was my thought also...
If you want to donate... be free... but if you love the shirt ... a simple resew will bring it back to perfect.
And shoes can be repaired, and clothes with sequins can be properly stored
Ah, yes the “Don’t wear this... buy this instead (sponsored)” video.
Sucks
So true
I looked at the lady on the vid, checked the title again. Nahh. I'm not taking tips from someone who looks cheap herself. lol
Does this video actually tell you what these mistakes are? I am halfway through it and it is simply an ongoing ad for a clothing company.
Right! I stopped watching halfway because of this
Everything’s always an ad with her now. She’s always shoving something in our faces in every single video, she doesn’t post unless it’s sponsored anymore. She pretends she uses/wears all the Tat she’s pushing on us. She must think we’re idiots 😂
Waste of time.
With a cutting my ears voice !!!
Reminds me of QVC
Someone else may have mentioned, but clothes that don't fit properly look cheap. Fit is the #1 thing in looking put together and "expensive. "
I was thinking that as she tried on the sweater. Clothes fitting properly make a world of difference.
💯
10000% agree with THIS. 👍🏼
But what happens with clothes that are meat to be big. Look Hailey Bieber, she wore all the time clothes that look big on her, and she never look cheap..🤔
@@patotazzy difference is she’s rich lmao
As far as gold jewelry looking too yellow or too gold, take a look at your doctor's jewelry. If your doctor is from India or Pakistan, I promise you they will be wearing exquisite gold rings and necklaces that are "too" gold. My second promise to you is that their jewelry is not fake nor is it cheap. My doctor's jewelry is so beautiful, it will take your breath. I understand costume jewelry can often be unnaturally glossy, but real gold really IS gold.
It’s not a typical style in the west
I believe they are 22 k gold.
@@hydeperv is pure silver southwest jewelry out west ❤️❤️❤️
Yellow gold looks tacky on her because her skin has cool undertones, so anything silver or cool-toned looks automatically much better and more expensive on her than gold. BUT it doesn't mean that gold looks bad on everyone else too. People with warm undertones to their skin look much better with gold jewellery so this tip really can't be applied to everyone. It should be more like: Wear jewellery that matches your skins undertones to look polished ja put together.
I have a handmade piece of white gold and tanzanite from Indian doctor got at antique shop beautiful 🤩
switched off when I realized it is yet another sponsorship. too many of these lately and no added value for us on the other side of the world. I am sorry :-(
yes lilysilk are onto everybody .x
Lilysilk is all over these influencers..
Yeah, this whole video was basically a commercial
Agreed 💯 % . Oh and btw, I love my ribbed sweaters. After all, fashion is subjective.
Working from home, wearing a $100 silk blouse? I don't think so.
I've heard this more lately, about ribbed sweaters looking cheap. I really like the look of ribbing! Also Aritzia has uber popular ribbed tanks that look very put together when you pair them with office wear attire. Am I the only one who still really likes them? :'(
They are my fav
Haha
I totally agree. To me, non-ribbed fine knit can just look like sweatshirt material.
I am seeing this whole, "How to dress expensive!" all over.
Not sure why they chose that verbiage, but it makes me think we should say, "Dress to look less...mug-worthy!" (If you look like your outfit costs $$$...muggers notice.🤔)
I think we don't want to look tacky and/or disheveled. This woman looks classy, and well-put-together. I just don't get the whole push to look like you paid a lot for clothing. As long as it's clean, ironed, and fits well for your personal body type, (and occasion) what's the big deal 🤷🏻♀️
Hi there.. how are you doing? Hope you’re fine and staying safe?
So if you like a blouse or something and the buttons are droopy, you totally tighten them with needle and thread!
nice comment but her point was and is that you shouldn't have to do so with a well sewn item
I have a denim jacket and I paid a fair amount for it. But, the buttons made it look cheap. So, I bought new buttons and changed them out, and now the jacket looks more expensive
Great idea
Hrmnnn have never really associated ribbed with being cheap - anyone else?
I only started thinking it when so many people mentioned it to me!
No way is it cheap looking. Long live ribs lol
No way Even more mid brands and up have ribbed tops 🤷🏻♀️
Yes. I hate ribbed.
My mum told me when I started shopping my own clothes that ribbed fabric is cheap. I’ve had a distaste for it since lol
Yes these are all great suggestions too!! I was just trying to offer my own thoughts & suggestions to consider! :) Thanks for watching!
I think even cheap jeans nowadays have lycra:) i mean cheap is H&M zara and even primark. Just need to read the lable
Dude, relax, it’s just a video she doesn’t mean any offense she always says that and if you like it, wear it
#Wearwhatyouwanttowear :) #itsyourchoice #itdosentmatterwhattheysay #doit #dontlistenkeepgoing :)
The video is for those who are interested in looking expensive, no one is telling anyone don't wear this or that.
These are all spot on except I wonder who started the evil rumour that ribbed looks cheap...? xD Made with good quality and in solid colours it's such a perfect base for an outfit and it can be dressed up or down.
www.whowhatwear.com/best-ribbed-sweaters
I knew ribbed tops look cheap about 25 years ago. I had one & wore it to a friend’s (v casual) wedding. Concluded it was terrible & never again.
I have two ribbed wool sweaters, both French brands, that look expensive and were expensive! I think it depends on the fabric. Ribbed cotton can look cheap or expensive depending on the item. Polyester, acrylic and rayon blends tend to look cheap because they lose their shape.
I've just never found any silk items that flatter curvy women! I wish it worked - these are beautiful looks
I'm very curvy I found a silk tank that suits me but You are right a blouse or short is a no no it just sits horrendously.
The sheen and shadow of the fabric highlights any bulge. Not to mention having to wash silk. Groan. Not for me!!! 😁
@@annfairfax9797 Oh god yeah washing it urghghg

Try silk knits, very luxurious, and avoid charmeuse - the shiny texture can be unflattering.

Droopy buttons can totally be fixed. If you love it but don't like needles, take it over to your friendly tailor.

Yes, she always says this is just her opinion! If your opinion differs, okay.
How do I I watch it?
hmm well how can you decide if you don't like the video if you don't watch it? lol

I do this every six months.
An absolutely amazing advise!

I think the ribbed sweaters look very nice I have a Cashmere sweater that has ribs in it very good quality very soft the ribs are beautiful
Keep it up!
I am HOH and always have captions on and my sympathy goes to you as the CC in most RUclips videos are not very good.

Even with those post-type buttons (that don’t sew on flat)? It seems that it would be hard to perk those up, even with needle and thread...?
People ... take her advice with a grain of salt.

Yeah, these are some of my favorites, too. I wear something under when appropriate, of course, but I love them!

I LOVE a good embroidered piece, but I have that boho vibe so I feel like it works for that 😊.
Yea some embroidered is really nice!! It just depends!
There are some things called needle and thread for those buttons.
But that looks poor, you want to look expensive right?! (please note this is sarcasm)

If they are well done they can look great. On the other hand they can look cheap and tacky if not done properly.
My husband is Ukrainian and was surprised to learn that those shirts would be called peasant tops in other countries. I don’t care for them unless it’s really the traditional embroidered shirt for holiday wear or special occasions

So glad I FOUND YOU! Had to unscribe from Mommies, Moscato and Makeup, and Math ect.
Wow! For as expensive Louboutin are, one would think that they would be more durable.
Girl, I love you so much and your videos!!! But that silk “dress” looks like a slip. Lol!!! But hey, we all have our opinions. Still love you! ❤️
Yes, so true! Since I'm too cheap to buy Louboutin shoes anyway, I'm relieved to hear that the Sam Edelman were more comfortable and durable.
@@heidij7374 Yes, Sam Edelman heels are waaay more comfortable and the heel is not as high! They look great and classy, and I will never opt for discomfort or risk twisting my ankle (haha) with the CL’s again!
Ribbed t shirts look pretty good with jeans
Another thing I don't like is when breast pockets start to sag. I think that looks horrible and will usually avoid buying blouses/shirts that I think will eventually look this way.
Yes that's a good one to look out for!
Use invisible sewing to close the top of the pocket, when you first buy an item with a chest pocket, as it's unusable anyway. Then it can't sag, but will still have the look of having a pocket.
Just when I thought the massive advertisement was finished 'this is actually from lilysilk'
I love my sweaters with beading & detail. I just use delicates bag in wash & nothing's come off. Sorry but I'd never get rid of them & I had lot compliments so they don't look cheap. Do love this video 👍
Thank you so much Jenny!!!
Shea Whitney I watch your videos for style all time you have such beautiful clothes & accessories too 🙂
If your buttons droop, the threads probably just have gotten a bit loose. You can easily just rethread overtop their attachments to tighten them up. It's a pretty natural part of daily wear
I have a silk pillow case! It's really nice!
Yes it’s sooo nice!!
I just ordered a Blissy silk pillowcase for my B-Day yesterday (the 29th) & I'm so excited to see what all the hype is about!!
Can you please do a video on laundry! How you keep all your nice items looking good/new. Do you have to take your beautiful silk blouses to the dry cleaners, etc?
You should take your Christian Louboutin shoes to the store they will fix them and put a rubber red sole that looks good and you can wear them a lot more
Good points. Cheap materials used more now, even with good labels on them. Need a good eye for quality.
You always look fabulously put together. So chic and simple but not plain ❤
Wow that is so nice of you to say!!
That shiny silk blouse you wore in the beginning of the video is gorgeous on you, you are so pretty.

Actual video starts at 4:45. And while the silk blouse is nice, polyester charmeuse is done so well, it can easily pass for silk charmeuse at a quarter of the price. And shiny fabrics really don't look expensive, unless you're getting married or the clothing is for an evening event.
2,500 silkworms die to produce one pound of silk. In case you didn’t know.
whereas polyester/nylon/acrylic/spandex kills sealife, cotton uses tremendous amount of water, and rayon produces toxic waste that poisons environment.
I’m aware of all this. I just simply stated a fact.
@@horace6851 it's very easy to buy new/used clothes that don't contain animal ingredients.
with a little effort one can find out if clothes are made ethically as well.
just because nothing can be made fully without some negative impact, doesn't mean we shouldn't try to reduce it as far as feasible
@@katy940 with what purpose??
I will mourn those worms and wear my silk to honor them.
I must be really cheap cuz lool most of the stuff didn’t look cheap to me except a few like the busted louboutin shoes
I have missed watching you. You are an inspiring, energetic, and funny gal! Thank you for sharing
What about petite sizes at Lilysilk? If I’m going to spend $100+ on a silk blouse I’m not going to want to shell out more to have it altered and poorly fitting clothes look cheap...
Was wondering the same thing!
Then don’t shop at Lilysilk? What is getting snippy with Shea going to do about it? I’m a petite person as well, but for the price of Lilysilk, I’m willing to take it to the tailors. To each their own, but don’t shoot the messenger.

What’s wrong with embroidery?? I personally love it!!
I love it sometimes too!!! I guess it depends! But it can tear and look bad sometimes! I guess that’s more what I meant
I think she meant went it’s snagged and you keep the pieces anyway
Maybe when pieces are missing/falling apart. My mom loves her some embroidery too! I give her tips on how to take care of her clothing. I honestly hand wash the majority of my clothes that are at risk of falling apart. I hand wash half of my wardrobe and machine wash the other half. If you have a newer and advanced washing machine than handwashing isn't 100% necessary.
Embrodery is luxurious..
$600 pr for red bottoms shoes only worn 3 times and already scuffed up is a total waste of money. I also heard they are very uncomfortable.

Ribbed looks awesome if one has the figure for it 😍🤩
Great advice 👍
You look fabulous! I love your shirt!😍
Awe thank you Hadia!!!

Ahhh thank you soooo much!!!!
Love the dress and sweater combo, looks fab and practical now its getting colder too
Lilysilk looks so amazing and I LOVE the hidden button. But, I can not justify buying one... or two right now. I wear a uniform for work and hardly go anywhere worth wearing something this nice right now. Still feel like I NEED IT in my life lol
Yea that makes total sense!!! But they are really nice! Sometimes its great having a uniform though! :)
If you looked up how silk is made you may change your mind 🦋
This is all so obvious. Kind of a pointless video. Lilysilk must not sell ribbed items. 🙄
