That first top ten single "Try" sounded unlike anything else on the radio at the time. Especially true of Jim's vocal. The excellence of the writing and performance were undeniable whether you were interested in country music or not. Good on these guys for sticking to their vision.
I love these guys! Such a great interview- thank you for profiling Blue Rodeo. They are certainly the soundtrack of my 20's and 30's...i never tire of their songs❤
5 days in July. Banded at 12. Travelled the world forever. 3-4000 audience. For me, harmonically, vocally this album was one of the most seasoned, lyrical and making Queen St. an exit point, forever, and beyond. Thank you.
Going to see Blue Rodeo in Niagara Falls this weekend. First concert for me since Covid hit. What a way to return to "real life" with one of the very best bands Canada has ever produced.
Grew up in TO; went to uni in Waterloo and London; moved to Halifax and Fredericton; lived in Calgary, Canmore and Lethbridge. Blue Rodeo; a national treasure!
Greg said Three Rivers, then changed it to Trois Rivieres. Wow! Shades of growing up in Shawinigan where we always used Three Rivers, and still do. Thanks, Greg
It’s so great to see so many that have know & stayed in contact with their childhood friends. As an “army brat” that’s moved around a lot as a child, I always miss my old friends that really & honestly felt like family to me growing up. I still hope & wish them nothing but blessings❤️🔥🖤🤍🌈✨
Enjoyed the interview. Just saw Blue Rodeo at Budweiser Gardens in London. on. Fantastic concert🎶❣️. These guys are amazing live 👏 I have been fortunate to see them 20 times or more. They are one of the few bands who sound as good live as recorded. Please keep playing concerts.
Never give up telling your story I'm sure it was funny then and it is sure is funny now. It just made my day and left it my spirits give me that little chuckle. Thanks for all that great music I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and keep up the good work
I heard this interview on the radio earlier today while on my way to get my booster, Tom had mentioned CBC Q on RUclips, I just watched it and I really enjoyed it. So nice to see Greg & Jim talk about their 40 year journey, nice to see they still appreciate and like each other, good job Tom.
Blue Rodeo fan since the late 90s. So cool they met at NTCI which was my high school too. Always mention them along with other famous NTers Keanu Reeves, Eric Lindros and Malin Ackerman to name a few.
This is awesome! Blue Rodeo, Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy wow.....simply amazing band, "Try' of course, their break out hit, who doesn't love that song? All of their music is amazing, I still remember seeing them play at the 'Taste of the Danforth' years upon years ago by the infamous 'fountain; gyro zone....live and outstanding per their norm, they sing, perform brilliantly, love them. Thanks for posting this, I thoroughly enjoyed this and learnt a lot about one of my favourite homegrown bands.....woohoo.
This is great love RUclips great interview. Also I think I saw blue rodeo at the HOTEL ISABELLA in the 80’s on a weeknight with nobody there but me. I said to myself whoever these guys are they are incredible.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview with these two incredible artists. My wife and I have seen them twice and have tickets for the February 10th show at Place Des Arts in Montreal.
Really hoping to meet the boys in Peterborough 2019 - my niece's man, Matt Blakely got us tickets - we thought backstage but somehow that went south - so many great songs and memories ...
@@VeeVeeVeeV no it's in the context of his actual health issues from long term ear issues which lead to migraines, so hopefully he'll find some techniques to help mitigate that 🙏✨
Loved the interview and happy that Blue Rodeo is still making music! I have seen Blue Rodeo many times over the last 30 years and I am glad I did because I won't submit my medical privacy to any venue for any band including my beloved Blue Rodeo.
It's all about the writing. Some of the best lyrics and melodies in the history of music.
Their music means so much to my life 🙂 Thank You

Well, maybe listen to Spandau Ballet's, True, then put on Try. You might change your assertion.
One of the best interviews I’ve heard on the Q. These guys are such a huge part of my life. I can’t imagine my life without their music.
Took the words right out of my mouth..Well said
So great to see Jim and Greg tell their Blue Rodeo story. Really great interview! I'm a longtime fan of Blue Rodeo. ❤⭐
Outstanding interview. Can't wait to see Blue Rodeo play live again. Cuddy/Keelor are Canada's Lennon/McCartney!
More like Henley/Frey
That’s very true! Great way to put it!
I love these guys! Such a great interview- thank you for profiling Blue Rodeo. They are certainly the soundtrack of my 20's and 30's...i never tire of their songs❤

Did you meet "Mike" while in Canmore?!!? Lol. More Canadian Lore IF you remember? Only a Canadian would know "Mike from Canmore" lol

Saw them at the Sidetrack Cafe in Edmonton. Incredible, small venue. Something I’ll always remember 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
So many great shows at the side track....
Great band . Been a fan for years .
My favorite band of all time.

I KNEW BAZIL DONOVAN WHEN I WAS 15.. WHEN HE PLAYED THE CAMERON WITH BLUE RODEO ONE OF THE FIRST SHOWS ...💙
I WENT TO GREG'S PLACE WHEN HE LIVED ON SORAUREN AVE AN DUNDAS..THAT'S WHERE THE FIRST..L.P. WAS MADE..

No one cares about your medical privacy.
@@LeeAnneG That’s right! No one cared before March 2020 and no one should care about it now except for the woke idiots!
See ya soon 😘
I think the vibe of Blue Rodeo is starting up in a big way as people are tiring of what's out there...
The math teacher who looked like a beaver was Mr. Coles.
Gone .. . But NOT SURE 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️
When did Wayne Gretzky join Blue Rodeo?
Its so strange seeing people you grew up listening to become old men. Young at heart, old at life.
Is it just me or does Greg Keelor look as lot like Steve Bannon?
Catharine Oharas slightly older brother, as that unique Irish colour of origin beams. Be nice.
Everyone looks like they just rolled out of bed
Child.
Greg is a peach.
You can tell they both love weed! 🤣
Face-lift Jim?
Try being famous, no dont. Magnanimous is difficult for narcissists, oui ?
Gotta chew gum on an interview?
Nicorette
I dont think of blue rodeo as country , I think they dont fit in any group .
Sorry but Greg looks terribly unhealthy. 😢
I agree, he looks unwell.
I disagree. But you 2 sound illusory.
Got tickets for a Dec. 28 concert in Peterborough. Can't wait.
