      Hi... Is there a particular brand of probiotics for cats that you can suggest.

    • @larsonfamilyhouse
      @larsonfamilyhouse 10 месяцев назад +6

      Yes! Lavender contains linalool and linalyl acetate, which cats cannot process in their livers. This means that consuming too much lavender can lead to liver damage. Which makes me question the validity of everything he says. I still look everything up afterward. And fish oil intake needs to be monitored. Side effects, particularly at high doses, can include diarrhea, vomiting, delayed wound healing, sleepiness, a fishy odor to the breath or skin, increased itchiness, or an oily coat and skin flakes. Discontinuation of the supplement should resolve these side effects. In cats, changes in blood clotting can occur. Serious side effects include persistent stomach upset, inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), abnormal bleeding or bruising, or heavy metal toxicity characterized by appetite loss, incoordination, or seizures. People need to realize because i sounds “natural” or good to humans certainly doesn’t mean it’s the best route for their pet. I’d do research and find a specific high quality one formulated specifically for cats as well. @@corinalaney7920

    My cat lived 16 of her 22 years in our home where we diffused and used the brand of EOs you mentioned. We had one occassion where she really got sick...those essential oils were a game changer. She lived an additional 5 years with great quality of life. I love how Murray loves the supplement. Such a pretty cat! My cat loved when I added a bit of warmed, filtered water to her wet food. I just found your channel...oh my, how helpful. I’m going to get coconut oil tomorrow, and rub some on his back..he’s a little itchy. He has been on prednisone for several years (a little scary) and 2 years ago he got diabetes. He is a total member of our family and we treat him as such. He hates wet food, but we have given him some different kinds every night hoping he will like it...well finally almost 2 years later we found a food he likes. He gets 2 shots a day of Lantis. 4 units each. He is still playful and he seems happy.....we ask him everyday...lol.
    He turned (approx.)14 years old in Nov 2018. We think...as all our cats over the years (my husband and I are both 70)he was a stray that came in our back door and never left. Thank you so much for your videos, I love Murray, and your soft encouraging voice. Didn’t mean to write a novel here, but I see people donate, but I didn’t exactly know what for...just someone said they will donate. If we can be of any help, let me know. We are also retired and are on a budget, but if you need funds to help pets or whatever....we are from Canada, so maybe also explain how to donate.
    Thanks again, this video was awesome.
    Sincerely, Linda

    Thanks for this! My 13 y/o cat has been on k/d dry for nearly 1 year now. My vet switched her after her labs came back with slightly elevated kidney enzymes. She did not mention renal failure stages. It is hard to get my cat to eat her food. We have to feed in isolation because our other cat bullies her out. I'm going to try some of the wet and see how that goes. I notice no change in her outward health appearance. I'm going back for her yearly labs in 2 months. She's also very chubby and will not play. I'm now grooming her more to help her where she cannot self clean. Her skin is also very dry and sensitive. I'm hoping to address all of these with some food and lifestyle changes. She is my heart, and my first pet after I moved away from home. Thanks for your tips! We are going to make some immediate changes this week! Thank you for all you do for animals! ❤️❤️

      It’s only safe when freeze dried or processed to kill the bacteria. It’s extremely dangerous otherwise. Unless maybe if you farm rabbits for this purpose and kill then feed immediately. Literally no vet will tell you it’s safe. It’s a myth. The only thing it eill do is kill your pet. Vegs are seeing priple’s pets die from this scary new trend at an alarming rate. Nothing wrong with freeze drying it or doing other vet recommended things, you can simply rehydrate it. Good quality wet food for the main meals is a game changer. @@machumak4915

I add a very small pinch of Bob's Organic Flax Meal to my cat's canned food every day and despite what I've read about cats not metabolizing plant food sources well, her coat became shinier within days.

I know he’s struggling with his teeth & gums, vet estimated $1,700, so he’s hit & miss with what he’ll eat. He always eats his dry kibble throughout the day and barely eats 1/4 of a very small can of wet food. He loves his crunchy Greenies but sometimes he’ll turn down soft treats. I have 2 cats, both are finakey eates, the calico has long hair and eats nothing but hard food, past couple of weeks her hair got really matted on her hind quarters , i had been brushing her before all of this , any way i had to have my son hold her while i got the matted hair untangled and brush her i had abt 3 big handfull of hair , just as you showed in your video, i seen lots of light tan or yellow looking like dandruff on her , its just on her hind quarters, i give her revoluation drops , so i know no mites or fleas , so im thinking this is her problem so going to try the coconut oil unrefrined on her hair and try to get her to eat it , if not im lost , i may spend lot of money on canned food, as she just wont eat it , guess ill be out big bucks hers as vets are expensive, any other suggestions would help otherwise a trip to the vet is next, thanks for the video , very helpfull

    What if your cat absolutely refuses to eat ANYTHING but dry food? (I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on “super-premium” canned foods and she won’t touch them.)

    Hi, I am a few weeks new to your channel and I am in awe. Catching up with all your videos I see a pattern of natural remedies. My dog (yorkie 4 years) has the most severe allergies. His vet pushed apoquel and steroid shots but the effects wear off so quickly and hes right back to the vet. He rips up his ears, inner arms, under eyes and butt and tail. It is so frustrating and I switched vets with no luck. He is on a strict diet (just food for dogs) but nothing is helping. His eyes are covered in yeast and his hair under his eyes is gone. I need help please! I have exhausted all my resources and I frankly dont trust vets anymore. They push for pills and shots and I express how much it does not work! Please help me!

      @VeterinarySecrets  6 лет назад +5

      Hi and Thanks. I would suggest 1st get the allergy under control with steroids if needed, and do a proper food trial - unique protein/carb ( ie fish sweet potato) and nothing else for 6-8 weeks. Then get on higher dose of EFA"s, 95% curcumin, licorice tincture as needed

    My cat has a bad case of mange. These knots are forming, like clumps of his fur along with dandruff flakes. It looks so uncomfortable. I'm trying to tease them off him, and I have been able to get quite a few off but they keep forming! Got to get some of that supplement.

    9:50 I use Doterra yet FYI all people use only quality non chemicals oils with pets. Also I think it’s great to use essential oils but I have a humidifier that has stickers on it that says to not put the oil in the tank I think it does something to the workings. In the back of the humidifier it has to push out with felt pads that I can put essential oils on I like it in the water more.

      I started toothpaste for cats ( only one brand is available in India) since last week. But the redness doesn't seem to go😟
      I'm really worried for my babies.
      Although my vet gave me assurance that for sure it'll recover but it takes time.
      Your videos have helped
      a lot to my cats since I never intended to get a pet and they came accidentally in my life and i had no knowledge about cat or dog in general.
      Your remedies are the only thing that i look upto.
      Sorry for long comment, but i really wanted to thank you a lot. ☺

    Can this be a genetic condition-my female cat had very dry lower back skin, dandruff and very sensitive nd flaky-and now-he kitten has it-he's now grown and has the same issue. I have other cats-who all have the same dry and can food diet-and they are fine..
    only my female cat and her kitten-have this!..Her kitten developed this very same problem early too-same place..
    as a kitten..reason i ask if it can be a genetic thing.

      If the dandruff is not seasonal, it could possibly be some form of allergies or immunity problems.Please have it checked with your vet.
