Wonderful documentary. In my time I’ve played for a small number of Music Hall revival shows. Seeing this makes me wonder if they could be brought back and if there was an audience out there!
Hello Howard, lovely to hear from you. I don't know if OTMH would go down too well these days. It's important the audience are willing to join in the songs and fun. We had two OTMH's running when I was resident at the Suncastle at Skegness both well attended Duggie Chapman's at the Embassy on the Central Promenade and another at the Arcadia Theatre on Drummond Road, presented by Terry Canter and starring Kenny Canter. My partner and later wife Hazel enjoyed Kenny's show and the Midnight Matinees they put on at the Arcardia. Enjoyed chats with Bert Weedon and Dick Emery who both came down to see my Hammond Organ Shows and Dance Sessions at the Suncastle. Happy Days as they say. Trust you can coping with the present situation OK. I get my last "Jab" tomorrow. Best Wishes to you and yours from this "Old Pro" in the Rhondda, PAUL.
@@ComptonLodgeStudios Hi Paul, Yes I agree, when you think about it in those past days at Skeggie and Scarborough. Most of the audience then during the 70s and 80s were also as old as the decade we performed for them.Nowadays all the newcomers can remember singing is ‘Viva Espana’, not good sing along material do you think? It’s the same with organ concerts, when we return to playing, will the audience who went into lockdown return in enough numbers to pay the wages? We are very well thanks just waiting for the second portion of glue!! Hope to visit you place down in Wales sometime. Best wishes to you, Howard.
@@howardbeaumont7895 Thanks for your response Howard, and once again I'm in full agreement. I've always tried to include up-to-date material in my programmes but as we all know what new material is there in this day and age. Lovely chatting and sharing thoughts and let's hope things change for the better. You never know. Cheers PAUL.
Wonderful! Thanks so much for the memories from the Halls. I was born too late. The nearest music halls to me at Ilford and Walthamstow were already closed. :/
