That's my Luke too! The "kids" will never understand waiting for 37 years to see something.
YES!
Totally agree ... 37 years ... and three dissapointing movies .. that supposed to be the epic finale for the most wonderfull space saga ... thank for sharing
@@samdoe5845 8 disappointing movies. But we finally have Star Wars again.
@Silicon Nomad hahaha I was thinking the same thing.
That was my immediate reaction to this episode. 37 years! I waited so long to see Luke in his prime. He just finished becoming a full Jedi Knight and then nothing from him again for 37 years and all I got before this was a the soulless dead luke in the movie that will not be named. THIS! THIS IS MY LUKE! Tremble in fear enemies of the light!
"THAT WAS MY LUKE!" Yas he is. This reaction is epic
It was absolutely 💯 percent genuine. Our predictions were that Grogu would turn to the Dark Side and that Mace Windu would take him. Sometimes even when you are as wrong as it's possible to be, it works out better than you could have ever anticipated!

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but it was great watching a reaction with people in my age group that saw Star Wars a gazillion times when it came out in theaters. Most of the reactors are a younger generation. Don’t get me wrong, they are great & know their stuff, much more than I do. But when the lady said (sorry about names) “that’s MY Luke,” that is how I felt! I believe it is a different feel. I am so happy you popped up in my feed!
Thanks for the comment, feel free to stick around and join our conversations. If you watch our video on the origin of the Cantina Club, I'm sure you would recognize elements from your own experience- we are all life long SW fans. We are very grateful that something we were passionate about as kids has lasted and maintained the interest of countless people who weren't even born yet. Whatever generation we can come together in all of our different ways at moments like this, but in a way this cameo in particular was a gift to those of us who first saw Luke and the binary sunset and were drawn in from that very first moment. It was a book we had thought was closed and to have a new page written before our eyes was truly special.
Tons of us "old fosile" fans and not youtuber reactors, said that exact frase "It's my (our) Luke". Thnks for sharing .. May the force be with you
@@samdoe5845 is it too much to hope that someday they may be able to give us that moment that we wanted to see in the sequel trilogy - the original characters together on screen?
@@thecantinaclub2848 with the digital effect or any kind of this tech. it wouldn´t, but there's should be only a scene or a very short appearence. unfortunately that whas supposed to be the whole f.... point for the new (and very poor) trilogy, to have all the original cast and to give a closure (an epic closure) to each one of the characters, and now that moment has already passed over. But this episode (and the show in general) was so da...m good that I think (at least for myself), that "now the cycle is complete" and if they keep doing all the new stories just like this one, Star Wars will be into the path of light again.

I'm 46 and I've been a Star Wars fan my entire life; this series has brought back so many good childhood memories and everything I've always wanted out of the saga. So happy to see fans all over the world reacting as I did 😭. Great reaction guys, thanks for posting!💯
Thanks for checking it out!

I'm (almost) 48. I was 4 years old when my dad took me to see Star Wars in 1977 (for the 1st of many times). Without any prompting my dad leaned over & quietly read the opening scroll to me. The next 2 hours changed my childhood.
These are my people. 💖 May the Force be with you.
In strolled Luke Skywalker to rescue the inner child of a generation.
I swear I must've seen all the reaction videos on RUclips and 90% of them have people get completely silent when Luke takes off his hood. Then there's like 5% that scream and 5% that complain about CGI but seriously man, most people just stare at the screen with their jaws dropped in total disbelief of what they're watching. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are redeeming the shit out of Star Wars right now. They gave us something in less than 20 minutes that all 3 of the sequel movies couldn't give us; a fully realized Luke Skywalker with the personality we know and love. Not an old, depressed hermit who wants the Jedi gone but the most powerful Jedi ever who tries to build the Order back up. A hopeful, compassionate, calm and wise master. They took the best thing from Rogue One (Vader's hallway scene) and flipped it around. This is what you get when people who understand Star Wars are in charge and I fucking hope that Disney takes note and puts them in charge of Lucasfilm with full creative freedom and the power to hire people that they think can contribute to the franchise in a good way. This is all kinda wishful thinking but hey, atleast we're on the right track! Star Wars is finally relevant again!
Great comment! We were all completely overwhelmed in slightly different ways. It was the greatest thing to happen for fans like us in a long time and completely unexpected. They didn't have to give us this, and we are so glad they did!
The day 30-60 year olds collectively turned into 10 year olds. The channel Star Wars Theory, he cried for 20 min after the episode was done. This is how much Luke means to people, he's like a messiah figure. He's almost a Paul McCartney figure, and Star Wars is like the Beatles name. If you use the Star Wars name, people want you to use Luke in his prime, if you have a Beatles reunion, people want you to play Yesterday, or Blackbird. They don't want you to play Wings singles.
Since we're doin' the White Album, I'd've picked "Back InThe USSR" or "Revolution 9", but point taken.
#FACT!!
That was my Luke. That is how I felt too.
I cried the moment I realized it was him...and when I saw his face...it brought back my childhood...my heroes...and being 7 years old in 77 when A New Hope came out. This is how it was supposed to be after Return of the Jedi. So grateful they did this and used Mark Hamill's face and voice. Finally, Luke in all his glory. ❤

The best part of the episode (besides Grandmaster Jedi Skywalker showing up) is the Mando crew have no idea who they just met. Sure to be revealed to them in season 3 but the “the Hero of the Rebellion” “the Death Star Destroyer” “the Legendary Red 5” in their presence and they have no idea. So cool!!! Can’t wait for that plot reveal.
The lady reactor is my favorite. The moment Luke drops his hood, you can literally see her being transfixed back to her childhood
I seriously thought because of Ahsoka Tano, they would go in the direction of Ezra. My SURPRISE guess was Mace Windu. I totally wasn't expecting Luke. That's the Luke we all needed and wanted.
We had hoped for Luke when Ahsoka laid the groundwork, but none of us thought they would have the audacity to try to pull it off. Just shows you, you have to dream and think big!
You need to Google Rahul kholi as ezra bridger.this actor has made 3 vids relating to him being ezra but he wasn't in mando s2(which I was expecting) he is definitely in 1 of these Disney star wars series as ezra...definitely 100% even though he denies any involvement

This is my favorite react video. I'm 52 and I saw Star Wars in the theater in '77. Many of us had no present fathers, and Luke was someone to look up to. I'm so happy to see Luke back the way he should be, and to watch all of you react just like I did.
That was so much fun! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, as we had a blast recording it. I saw Star Wars in the summer of 1977 as well as a 10-year-old and I still have vivid memories of that day.
The thing is ... we finally got justice for Luke FRIKKIN Skywalker.
We saw TEH Jedi .. A Skywalker in his prime. A jedi Master in action.
AND IT WAS AMAZING!
I had no idea what this episode would do to me.
Suddenly my childhood was right there... it was crazy.
Incredible surprise and something to celebrate!
Yes, sure, R2 and Grogu would have met (off-screen) at the Jedi Temple at some point.

This was by far the best fan reaction I have seen... so sincere! Great play by play reactions! Need a Cigarette Moment!
Was this not some of the BEST story writing we have seen since Empire, finding the truth about Luke's Family history as Darth Vader's father? This almost had a since of Marvel Comics End Game writing. This was FANTASTIC. Our entire family leaped out of our chairs like our favorite team just scored in the Super Bowl!!
This makes up for Last Jedi Nightmare!
Omg...wow.😀
It's awesome that your family got to enjoy the moment. Thanks for sharing with us! It's really going to be interesting to see where they are going with the story, but as long as they keep the quality level high I'm sure it will be great. Im sorry but, its sooo cute seeing this lil lady with a big star wars mug.
that lady has such great voice she sounds so young she should do voice acting
This made me relive the joy again. Thank you.
I'm guessing that is one reason reaction videos are popular. Especially right now when we can't share a moment like this all together as an audience in a theater. I still remember the feeling in the room the first time we saw the Death Star destroyed and how that expression of true emphatic happiness and celebration seemed to last minutes. At it's best, that is what Star Wars and pop culture can achieve. For just a moment can we all lay down our cynicism, and our literal and proverbial weapons and just be united in the joy of something dear to us coming home?
@@thecantinaclub2848 I do find reaction videos cathartic; a moment of joy with zero cynicism is a fine way to close 2020. I also love reactions to Nintendo game announcements; it’s our childhood, Star Wars and Nintendo. Thank you.

LOL, your f...ng jaws when the X-wing showed up, that's precious...LOL
Disbelief is the best way to describe it. You see it, but you just can't believe they are going to let Luke do something besides swill warm blue milk. There's a lot to be said for that. We all need some joy after this last year!
They definitely planned this from the start ! If you think about it, the dark troopers have been introduced in the show only for this moment, to show how powerful Luke has become.
This is amazing, I hope Favreau does a lot more Star Wars (and Ruin is never allowed to get near anything Star Wars ever again).
Favreau and Filoni are definitely on to something special. The team of directors and creative and technical talent they've assembled have delivered nothing but quality. They've put the fun back into SW and given the divided fan base a lot of common ground. That's something RoS couldn't really accomplish on the heels of TLJ. This show has re-engaged the interest of a lot of fans and gotten them speculating and excited for the next chapter of SW. Let's hope the quality of the show and all of these projects stays at high levels, and long live Luke Skywalker!
Loved your reaction! Easily the best I’ve seen of the many great reactions to this episode.
The moment that X-Wing flies in, the guy with the Buffalo hat knows right away, but when the penny finally drops for the other two, it’s a delight to watch!
And the sweet lady spoke perfectly for all of us when she said “that’s MY Luke!”, the Luke Skywalker we have been waiting almost 40 years to see.
Thank you.
You are too kind, thank you. So glad you enjoyed the return of Luke. That's what this is all about. If you check out our top ten SW characters video you will see the reasons why each of us ranked him as our #1 character.
I have watched DOZENS and DOZENS of reactor videos and you guys are the ONLY ONES who mentioned the bit about that being the first time someone touched his face!!! I thought of it right away too but NO ONE else has! THANK YOU!!!!!
It's kind of sad that the Mandalorian has had such a lonely existence and has been a true devotee of "the Way." The fact that he threw it all away and made himself vulnerable to say goodbye to the Child was the most emotional moment of the series to me.
My dad introduced me to the Original Trilogy remaster in the 90s in theaters when I was around 7 or 8 and Luke skywalker is my all time favorite Star Wars character ever. I couldn't believe they went there, with ROTJ Luke, but they did and it was perfect.
Yes! This was such a great (and gutsy) move on the producers part. As you can see by the video, we really loved it!

They passed up on a ton of money marketing the Child at the start of season one just to keep the secret from leaking. They are doing a masterful job of prioritizing that and the viewers experience.
Thanks for sharing this guys - I've literally spent the last week watching reaction videos from people who were there at the Original release back in the 70s

Had to sub to that reaction of Return Of The Jedi Part 2. I waited 37 years to see that green lightsaber again. #wellworthit
Right there with you, Troll. The green saber is the saber of reveals- from the skiff to Gideon's cruiser, it still announces the arrival of a Jedi.
39:11 "How did this not get spoiled" Thank goodness it didn't. Made the entire watch finale that much more fun, emotional, and suprising! And you guys are so right. "That's my Luke." I'm 51. I remember him with the WHEN and BACK in my day nostalgia. Gosh, I was overcome with so much emotion, then in comes strolling.... R2D2. I put my hands up and succummb to it all. I mean, I was a snotty mess.
Right there with ya! It really still blows my mind that it wasn't leaked. To me it was very comparable to the ending of Rogue One that we had no clue about either.
I was right there with you, Mishka. I was already blown away by what was happening and then...Artoo!!!
Mishka I think a lot of credit for keeping this secret is Mark Hamill. He kept making comments that made many people think he likely would never act in Star Wars again, even talking about how fans of the sequel movies don't like his version of Luke. All this is likely why many people thought this Jedi had to either be another one or another actor playing Luke.
Wow, that was a great point about the title of the show being a reference to Luke. Didn't even catch that!
We had just been talking about the titles for some of these episodes in our last podcast and how some can be seen to have different and multiple meanings. It was definitely the case for this one!
It made me cry too it’s like for a brief moment movies episodes 7,8,9 didn’t exist at all.🤩😭🤩😭🤩

I am just so warmed to see looking at all reaction videos, that no matter what age/gender/race and no matter how divided from the sequels, EVERYONE reacted the saame as i did. A perfect example on how to do fan service correctly. The fan based is united, and that was TRUE Star Wars.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed our video. :)
Luke and Grogu board the elevator and turn 180.
Mando: "He likes live frogs, but you'll want to watch him around eggs."

I'm glad she put down the coffee cup, I was afraid she would spill it and burn herself. This is the first reaction I've seen where a woman figured out it was Luke before the men; maybe it's a generational thing. Also, now I'm wondering if Luke indeed never said "May the force be with you" before.
I think I was wrong and he did indeed say it to Lando and Chewie at the end of TESB. Thank you for the comment, we are all glad Gundark survived Luke's return!
actually, if you go back and watch the guy in the upper left corner asked "is that R2?". She just said, "Is this the Jedi?". So, no, she didn't. Not a big deal though. Still a great reaction to an awesome scene!!

And Kathleen Kennedy has openly stated, for real, that women can't associate or connect with male characters such as Luke Skywalker! Lady, I think you very much proved her wrong! As so many around the world just have, despite of gender, age or origin. The real Luke Skywalker unites people, he brings hope. That's why we love him & value him. And it's because of morons like Kennedy that we had to wait even longer to get the real Luke back while she happily tossed the imposter at us.
And Star Wars is about Family. The bottom line for what George Lucas wanted. Women sure can relate!
Imagine boiling down the human experience, and all of our hopes and ambitions, until the nuance and tapestry of life is reduced to two binary threads: penis and vagina. Imagine.
it's dumb as hell. luke is the type of guy very easy to relate to, as a female.
If you check out our video where we each list our 10 favorite SW characters, I believe Luke was #1 for all three of us including Gundark. The cast of the OT just had something indelible and magical going on. Who wouldn't want to be Leia, standing up to the bad guys, or Han with that smirk and charging head first into a fight or coming back against the odds to save a friend, or Luke trying to find his own place in the galaxy while remaining unwavering good. Protagonists of all shapes, sizes, colors and genders are welcome. You don't have to tear one down to build another, you just need to tell a good compelling story with characters that we are given a chance to care about.
@@thecantinaclub2848 Could not have said it better myself. If only Kathleen Kennedy could understand this as well. But she doesn't, or refuses. As long as she doesn't, SW is in deep trouble.
Love it these videos are what I need in 2020 amazing we waited since Jedi for this finally to feel this again!
When just being moved about, guns make a lot more noise in movies and TV than in real life, though. If we don't count cocking or powering up (in this case), they make a loud rattle when moved in movies and TV, but are virtually silent in real life (unless you have a very loose gun or hang loose things on them).
Wrecks me every time! You said it best; "My Luke! It was MY Luke!"

Talk about double meanings of the episode titles... The true character of Luke Skywalker has been rescued!
Lol, the internet should have suffered meltdown by now.
And you are right; I've watched countless numbers of grown men, and women cry.
I also thought a line from this episode was laden with potential extra meaning. "The dark saber has no power. The story has the power." Handing a saber from one person to another is a hollow gesture without the power of the story behind it.
it's been a week since the episode's premiere and here we all are .. still sharing our feelings and expressing all our opinion about it .. "but the must importan of all" is that
I have never seen such a unanimous effect in reaction and opinion around such a subjective issue
The rescue of Star Wars, and possibly Disney also.
"Talent without training is nothing."
Did you hear that, Rey?!
Y'all nailed this! You know your SW and straight up awesome humor. I'll be following for more posts. Merry New Year
Thanks! Please feel free to jump in and talk SW with us!
This episode made my heart leap and break at the same time.
You literally can't calm down the last 10-15 minutes. First the twist with the Dark Saber (great villain acting!), then Dark Troopers pops up, tension is rising since before that we saw how much trouble is causing only one of them, then an X-wing show up, is it who we think it is? Jedi comes in, all grown men are in tears and disbelieve what's about to happen, epic light saber fight into Rogue One top off. Then we see that it IS actually freaking Luke Skywalker (a perfect way to split Mando from Grogu in my opinion) we are starting to calm down but then Mando takes off his helm to say a proper good bye to his "kid", all women are in tears! But ... this is not all - R2D2 shows up to create another nostalgic moment for all the fans! We are all in tears of joy and realizing this was the best thing that happened in 2020. However, post-credit scene comes out of no where showing that we will get another show with Boba Fett. What an amazing way to serve your audience!

For those of us who saw the Original Trilogy first, who felt the magic of it, this episode was the very best moment since Yoda lifted Luke's X-Wing. The Prequel Movies, everything that followed, I enjoyed for what they were. But they never felt like Star Wars to me. I never felt like that little kid watching them. I did with this show. And it's so good to see that you felt the same way. Sharing this with fans who know the magic of the Original Trilogy is special. And I loved this reaction.
Thanks brother, those that know, know.
The Prequel Trilogy filled in backstories of characters. It felt like Star Wars to me just as much as the Original Trilogy. In fact, the prequel movies made the original movies mean so much more.
@@TheRivrPrncess I am so happy when people have this reaction to them. I am, unfortunately, not one of those people. But I like it best when people enjoy the universe. And I think all the movies mean so many different things to so many different people.
When I grow up, I wanna be passionate like you guys! 😭🤗
I'm actually 38. 😆😂🤣
That was an old-school reaction and it felt like home. Thank you, guys! That was fantastic! 🙌👏👏👏💚🖤
Just like you we had no idea what was coming. A great moment that is certainly getting harder to pull off in our spoiler/scrutiny culture. It was great to just enjoy a great surprise for once!
Finding so many channels through these reactions vids
You guys are great love the reaction!
Thanks so much for watching! What a great episode that was!

Having watched the original trilogy in the theatres and seeing what the franchise went through the last 40 years, this is by the best thing they could've done.
It doesn't take much to please the fans, but this is what we wanted.
I always thought it was like an easy home run to give us something good with the original characters, and it's odd they opted to not really do that in the sequel trilogy. Even though it may be easy, it's awesome that they did it at a high level as far as quality.
Considering who shows up it would not be a good idea to have Boba there at the end 😁
Ha! They should have had Boba's rifle be a sawed off blaster.
41:05 I share the same sentiment, that's the Luke I remember!
Amazing reaction 😁
thanks.. our loved luke, came back again!
There are very few things in this modern, ugly world that make me cry like a baby. The scene where Luke shows his face is one of those things. People say its CGI so its wrong, or that he uses a Dark Side power, or whatever.
I DON'T CARE!
I saw Star Wars for the first time in 1978 from the back seat of my dad's car at a drive in theater and I was hooked for life.
Luke Skywalker is THE modern myth hero. No matter how people complain, twist words or whatever, they cannot change my memories of Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. This brings back those memories. My only regret is that my dad passed before this came out. He would have loved to see this even if he never really got the whole fandom thing. The Force is with us. Always!
We couldn't agree more. Sorry for your loss of your dad.
Condolences to you. Thanks for watching the video and I am so glad you enjoyed it. I agree with you that people can (and have) disparaged this appearance by Luke based on the CGI and all I can say to them is that they are completely missing the point.
What awesome reactions from everyone. Great job guys!
Awesome reactions....the best reactions are from the original trilogy fans :) because we are old enough to truly understand the epic-ness of what Jon and Dave put on Disney :)
It's good stuff they are doing! Thanks for the comment.
It's a love letter to the fans, especially the first generation Star Wars fans. This is one of the very best reactions I've seen of this episode. Star Wars was on life support. But The Mandalorian has most denitely given the saga NEW LIFE. This should have been the true rise of skywalker.
This season was a big middle finger to Rian Johnson
As it should be.
I thought his name was Ruin Johnson.
49:05 "I wonder how they did his voice?" They did it by having Mark Hamill. On set. Performing as young Luke Skywalker. That wasn't a pure CGI creation; that was Mark Hamill's performance, de-aged.
Mark Haimill went in and did the voice in secret. he rocks.
SHANNON BURGE He certainly does.
The ladies’ reaction was Adorable
