I like that the narrator is saying “she is sitting in the shadow of where her and her sisters felt felt the thrust of live steam”. I love that he is talking about it as if the 765 was a living breathing creature. And In some ways, it is!
765 is going to Harrisburg, PA this summer as part of NS's steam events I heard. However, the runs to various cities will be private, employee only. Still, it will be great to see 765 back in PA. 765 went through my area (Allentown, PA) twice in July, 1988 pulling two public excursions from Bound Brook, NJ for the Tri-State convention, one went to Temple, PA (BM&R station) and return, and the other was a circle trip via Philadelphia, Reading, Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Phillipsburg.
@HaloCE14 Yeah thats sad too. I am just lucky to live in Harrisburg PA and have the station in there to visit and also the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum. Altoona still has a lot of its old stuff left. If you look up Renovo you will see that it still has an old coal tower there and its car shop. That place has a lot of memories in it that will last forever. It is very sad to see.
I have alot of stuff from Lima loco works that has come down through the family. Tons of pics of 765 from way back. I can tell you where alot of stuff once was.
Is this the only loco they have at the current time? I come from Garrett which is north of Fort Wayne, trains are pretty much in our blood up here and both sides of my family worked for the B&O but sadly no one does anymore, Infact Moms dad was an engineer and one time drove the train that had President Eisenhour while he was campaigning, and spilled coffie on the pres by accident when the train bumped , Grandpa latter met the pres and shook his hand and said he was sarry when he met him.
this was filmed in 1980, she's alive and well in 2019. great to see her owned by such a dedicated organization. what a fantastic locomotive.

Lima is the birthplace of Nickel Plate Road 765 and other Steam Locomotives.
