Denver Fire Department: Leadership So Everyone Goes Home

- Denver firefighters opened their doors and their hearts to share painful lessons to help improve firefighter safety across the country and around the world. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) has released Denver Fire Department: Leadership So Everyone Goes Home, a documentary highlighting the department's efforts to make improvements after the tragic loss of three Denver firefighters over a six-year period.
The documentary, produced by STATter911 Communications in association with Greg Guise Media and PC Productions, focuses on the line-of-duty-deaths of Firefighter Robert Crump in 2000, Assistant Chief Charles Drennan Jr. in 2001 and Lt. Richard Montoya in 2006. Members of the department, from the rank of firefighter up to the fire chief, share their insights into the loss of these three men and talk about other incidents where Denver firefighters have been seriously injured.
My Grandfather Claude V. Snyder Retired Denver Fireman, made the marble head stones for this memorial. He did all the art work and sandblasted all the name on them until he died in 2003.
The Denver Fire Department should win awards for their internal commitment to safety and also for this excellent video!
I literally loved fire fighters when I was little but I can’t stop watching
I'm glad The Denver Fire Department makes sure firefighters wear their seat belts and safety harnesses, and uses closed-cab trucks now. That is such a far cry from the days of firefighters standing on the back bumpers of engines, as nostalgic as that might be.
To Firefighter Jessica Crump
My Prayers and Thoughts go to your family
and to DFD for their Ultimate Sacrifices
I really love Denver firefighters i always see them in the store and they always smile :D and they are awesome
One of the best Firefighter safety videos I have seen.
Well done Dave and staff. Congratulations to DFD for their open discussions and the commitment to "Everyone Goes Home".
First ever oral board for me next week. I'm nervous but very excited. Nothing else I want to be. To be a part of the firefighter family would be an tremendous honor.
Its a cool feeling realizing your calling. It just happened to me a little over a year ago. I missed the cut on my first written test but studied any way I could and kept up on my physical fitness. It's all I think about and I'm not giving up. Go after it Andrew, wish you luck
Thank you National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Denver Fire for sharing this valuable message. May strong situational awareness be with DFD and all firefighters. ~ Rich
hardly having any fires also helps everyone go home , of all cities Denver ? lol

Bringing this into the firehouse for some shift training! Good to learn from our brothers down south!

thank you for sharing. great way to start my day.
Very nicely done! Thank you for not only making this video, but being willing to share it with the rest of the firefighters in the world not affiliated with Denver FD
It, s real sad to lose 3 fire fighters in the line of duty
Can someone explain why there are 32 dislikes. This is why I tell people to respect emergency personnel.
Some people think that to think about personal safety is wimpy. When it is about going home. We still have people that refuse to wear BAs. It is crazy.
Much respect from a UK student paramedic. A death protecting and serving within the emergency services is a good death. Ultimately death isn't good overall, but doing it in the protection of the community and people is the best way to go.
+revron77 With emergency comes risk, with risk comes death, with death comes glory, with glory comes understanding, with understanding comes less risk
My granddad was a cop but this applies to firefighters and EMS just as well. You're lucky you don';t have to get shot at or run into burning buildings though, we bring em to you XD

You'd be surprised the level of abuse and assaults directed at paramedics. I for example have had a guy on legal highs try to kill a child in front of me, then try to attack me. Luckily police were in the area. Paramedics experience tons of risk. In Australia paramedics die more than police officers, completely crazy.
In the emergency family, we are all holding the thin blue, red and green line. Thank god we have each other.
*****
Yeah i know i was just joking. And you're absolutely right, we'd really be screwed without each other
Awesome film !!
this goes without saying I'm not from there but THANKYOU
I'm a fire fight I had a call from my grandpa that died on my hands when I was doing my job like every fire fight that made my really sad at work that as a fire fight it is hard to not cry about it time to time

Lol, why is she wearing plastic gloves in the truck. very unprofessional.
SKIT I MITT NAMN DE DU lol are you serious man? hahah
she touches every thing in the trucks interior .The gloves becomes dirty. I do not want them hands in my open wound. It will increase the risk of infection. She REALLY need to learn how to work Asepsis.
SKIT I MITT NAMN DE DU The field is not aseptic. Majority of fire departments have their crews put the gloves on in the ride. This ensures that the crews are wearing the proper PPE.
