- Join the concrete crew as we place and finish a driveway that we set up the day before. The summer is here and the heat is on! I caught some of the guys with their hands in the cookie jar and I wasn't too happy! Then we head to the yard to excavate for the plumbing for the new building. Enjoy

I worked landscaping in the early 90’s. The boss bought one of those five gallon orange Gatorade coolers for the truck. The guys in the crew split the costs of the Gatorade mix and ice. I believe the Gatorade mix made six gallons but we just dumped the entire container in the cooler, with four gallons of water and one seven pound bag of ice. Lasted the entire day.
Same, even when I did concrete foundations. All the guys and 1 female would always split for ice, Gatorade, Powerade , case of water, snacks so on. You don't see that now a days. I remember when this new kid at the time was 16 couldn't afford boots and gloves. Boss bought him gloves and boots. Never used it when he was showed up late a few times. Cause he took the bus. That kid would end up starting a company himself. Bought the old boss these $300 boots. The boss was wanting and talking about for 2 years. Idk what or where they are now. But that was a boss like Ryan always looking out for the guys. Always trying to do family get togethers so on.
I was thinking that too. I did inground pool construction for a couple summers. We all rotated every day, boss man included. Someone buys ice, someone buys water, pop, etc.
most places i've worked in the heat, in a group, it's the boss that buys, because it's a tax write off if you have a decent accountant.... and makes the guys happy

Had a guy that I worked with every morning i went to the store filled my water cooler with water dropped some Gatorade packs. He used to drink almost all of it. Bees can actually smell lime, so that’s why if you have a bag of lime you’ll actually see wasps take the powder of lime and when I was doing masonry, we would be adding lime to the actual mortar mix to make it stronger

I'm in SoCal and in the summer we worked in above 110 degrees. I'm a finisher and I always suggest to the contractors to add cure and seal or wet the concrete after to prevent cracking and they almost never do. The concrete ends up cracking in a lot of places before we finished cleaning our tools.
I lost it when tino kept high pitch hollering "Toot Toot"😂💀 and that mini ex has literally screaming for some grease the last 2 times its been used😂
