Malcolm is the most genuine bbq guy on RUclips! I love his delivery and style...and his recipes are the best. I've bought a lot of items from his shop/store. Everything is top notch! This video was put up 10 years ago. I watched his most recent video this morning. Malcolm, you are looking awesome these days! Keep taking care of your health. We need you around!!

yeah, finally did a meatloaf. My family loved it. Smoked meatloaf is the best tasting meatloaf I've ever cooked. Even better than my Mom's - just can't tell her that.

Malcom, If I'm on RUclips it means I'm usually watching BBQ videos and yours are the best I've seen so far (and I really mean that man). I haven't smoked a meatloaf in a while so thanks for the inspiration. It's absolutely a night and day difference when compared to the old oven baked standard that's for sure.

Not even a handful of times. Loving it! Watching your videos helps me to know what direction I'm going. Love what you do. Keep up the good work

THIS IS AMAZING! YOU MUST use Malcom's Rub and BBQ Sauce - it wont be the same without it. I used my own meatloaf recipe. Following Malcom's instructions - in refrig to firm up - sprinkle top with The Killer Hog Rub - smoked for 2 hours - pecan wood. Then basted in Killer Hog BBQ Sauce. TO DIE FOR good. The smoke ring was amazing - the sauce was like icing on the cake! THANKS Malcom. DEAR READER - if you have not tried his BBQ Sauce - let me say this - 20+ years of trying sauces - THIS IS IT.

I took this recipe and added 2 diced jalapeño peppers and 1 diced habanero cause we like our food spicy. Because its 34° outside today I had to let mine go for just about 3 hours before they were done. I let them rest for about 15 min after and omg were they good!!!! Thanks for the tip about the little loaf pans though... that made my life A LOT easier!!! Love your videos!!! I'm new to smoking and I've learned more by watching your videos than anywhere else!!

I used the pellet smoker because it's really convenient when I'm shooting videos. But you can use any smoker - even a UDS - for this recipe. As long as you can maintain a constant temp for 2 hours, your good to go

  • @tom1959100

I did this a couple of years ago, and it just takes meatloaf to another level!! But even if it's done in the oven, I still use the BBQ sauce instead of ketchup or tomato paste....BBQ sauce on meatloaf is just better. I use both green and orange bell pepper along with red onion...and use Ritz crackers instead of bread crumbs. This meatloaf along with some smooth, buttery mashed potatoes, sweet corn, a salad and rolls makes one heck of a fine meal!!

Oh boy. I followed along with the exception of the half and half, I subbed mayo. I've made a lot of loafs, I use my grandma's recipe, but never put one on the grill. I fired up the PK with some b&b briquettes and some oak lump coal, took about 30 mins to dial in the grill to 275, right on the button 2 hours indirect. We twice ground 2lbs of sirloin and a pound of pork steaks. There's a local bbq company in Bakersfield,ca called Kickin Ash, glazed accordingly. My wife had an end of one, and wanted to cry, I lent her my shoulder. Thanks man, just picked up some of The BBQ Rub, dang. Keep up the great work!!!

Made these tonight and came out great! Mine took about an hour and 40 minutes + 15 for the BBQ sauce to caramelize. I had a big spike at one point when I went in the house; came out 10 minutes later and it was up past 300°, ouch. Other thing was that there's no place in SoCal to find Moore's Marinade, so I had to improvise. Next time I'll order online. Either way thanks for the recipe and great video Malcom. Hey Malcom Merry Christmas. Just letting you know it's Christmas Eve in Kansas City and I just put four of these on the smoker and hour ago for dinner with guests tonight. Such a great way to have a meatloaf. It almost deserves a different name because it's so different from
a traditional meatloaf. Hey I recently made these and added little cubes of fresh parmesan I cut from a wedge and added a handful of parm cubes to each loaf with the vegetables. It was outstanding. Great recipe and technique...you make it easy for a noob like me to produce lovely food off a smoker.

hey mate i just wanted to say thanks for this recipe video, i've actually been a long time fan of you and your channel over the laste maybe 3 years i have been learning about briskets and chickens and sometimes pokr, not so keen on pork these days but yeah man the beef and the slow cooking and whatnot, i always really appreciate you and your channel specifically its one of the first i look for, although i gotta admit i do like the bbqpitboys theme song too :)
thanks for showing me this man, i have a kilo of ground beef all flavoured up and into a log the shape of a pringles can, literally inside a pringles can in the fridge overnight to get a shape, its got onion and garlic and peri peri chillis inside plus a bunch of paprikia cumin nutmeg cinnamin black pepper white pepper cilantro parsley rosemary its got basil its got oregeno its got extra garlic powder and onion pwder, it's going to be full on..... and yet while i am confident in cooking a lamb shoulder or beef ribs or a chicken, this particulr problem of how to slow cook the smoker meat log.... man thankyou so much
i personally dont want no sweet on my beef, so i will skip the bbq sauce glaze but i really genuinely appreciate your videos so much and i picked up that tip today about applying a rub before popping it on the grill, thats so cool i will try it when i cook up my beef log in the morning dude cheers, ive learned a lot from your bbq vids man i appreiate it

I make mine similar, except I sautted the onions and bell peppers in bacon fat and chop up the bacon bits and mix in meat. Then add garlic at the end until fragrant, deglaze pan with a little red wine and reduce until 1/4. Once it cools then I mix into the meat, I leave a channel down the center and pack it with sharp cheddar, put a meat lid on it and I used diced white bread as a binder.

Malcom you are the man! I have made this meatloaf twice now, and it’s a big hit. I have also made your St. Louis spare ribs ( the honey is for the money)!! Those ribs turned out amazing. FYI, I do all my cooking on my XL BGE.

Gonna do my first meatloaf on the smoker this weekend next to my turkey. Always wanted to try meatloaf on the smoker!! Thanks for the tip of forming it in the pan then putting directly on the grate. Wasn't sure if it should cook in the pan or not.
