Glad to hear that you are up and about. There is no therapy quite like a day in the shop. Your work is so methodical and yet immensely elegant. How about a tour of your house with commentary on all of the inspiration for the architrave you have created . I really enjoyed your presentation explaining the contrast of the classical Greek style to the organic Asian style.
@@royalvarez6436 Thank you! I’m glad to be up and about, too! And you are so right. My shop is the best drug I’ve got, and all the endless projects around my home. “This must be heaven.”
This is very inspiring to us younger generation wanna-be carpenter folk who may hope to glean something great from your kind of craftsmanship. Thanks for making and sharing your rad video!!
Yeah, I, too, feel that architectural style deep inside me. I'm fond of every architectural style and period--truly entranced with it all, especially Georgian and Federal and Greek Revival styles--all the classical styles, and all the Victorian periods, too! But I'm nuts about the Craftsman style, the Arts & Crafts period, and Asian architecture and philosophy.
@@jonathanlombard8897 Thank you! It was the last major project in my house. I was finally able to install the last missing pieces of baseboard. Took 12 years.
I am just a tad less mature than you ? ( age what a bunch of hog wash) I hv a different story where my past life required me leaving it and becoming a finish man say 12 yrs ago ? I am so joyful to hear the tools, smell the wood, figuring stair skirts, steps, risers , base, caps, all that ! But seeing you back to working and making a video ? That brought a huge smile to my face ! God bless you! Also? I am taking some time to work on my place and I liked your kitchen ? I felt the warmth ! Great job ! Can we see a little of that Gary?
I've never really stopped, not for long at least, but health issues and stuff really took a lot out of me for a few years. Miraculously, I endured it all, and bounced back. I know living here was a huge part of that miracle.
That's an Occidental "clip on". I wear that when I'm working in my shop and all my tools are 'at hand'. When I leave my shop, I usually wear a vest, which I love, made by Diamondback.
Really enjoyed watching the process, love the result! “…It didn’t stop me” best part of the video!!
@@plgard You know, I always debate whether or not I should get into my medical/health challenges. Thanks…in the future, I won’t let myself stop me. :)

@@THISisCarpentry now that’s great news!
Thanks Gary, I like how you work.
@@rickreid2661 Thank you, Rick. My methods might be a little dated, but they work.
