You are a Man among boys. This is euro tuner quality this is pristine this is incredible this is the dream. Reminds me of the early 2000s with a even a current feel of aesthetic. 7 years later and it still looks state of the art.🎉
Bad ass Malibu,i just got a 2002 Malibu have done mild exhaust work and a throttle body swap from a 3.4 , eventually wana hybrid zwap it and put the 3.4 top end in
Omg I had a Malibu like this model and I always dreamed of making it look like this. But it died previous owners didn't take care of it it was my first car...
Bro thats a sweet looking Malibu i own a 97 malibu rn i just have to ask where did u get the body kits and how was u able to get or build the center like that?? If u dont mind me asking
it was in Barrett Jackson, Hot Rod Magazine, was at the Chevrolet Heritage museum and most notably was featured at SEMA in 2001 or so. I'm sure it made its way to plenty of car shows across the nation
Hosea Robinson That's a question for Chevrolet. It is a concept design by Chevy not an individual or an idividuals custom build. It was done in house by a Chevrolet team of some kind
Rodney Norwood I didn’t find that information out from the original builders at Chevrolet Performance, it was built many many years before it got to me and not all of the information was supplied
Not sure you had a chance to check but I’d imagine the 4T65E transmission in these would blow after about six months of trying to manage the turbo! Would love to know if it’s possible though. Thanks for the video! Hope you didn’t end up with a loss after selling her!
The Bear Den I have no clue what tranny it had, I just know it was an automatic but I’m sure it was stock whatever it was. It had been turbod for 15 years or so before I got it. Only had 12,000 miles on the whole car, the tranny held up though! Motor didn’t though😢
hey, can I ask? I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu I’m really trying to fix it up and everything and I’m wondering what have you don’t with the engine bc I heard the 3400 plenum works on the 3100 stuff like that, what better spark plugs I can use etc let me know if you can please and thank you
Goosyyy I don’t know much other than what I was told, I got the vehicle because it was one of one and valuable. I never did any work and I’m not even too big of a Chevy guy sorry I can’t really help
What motor is that? The cover looks just like the 3.1 SFI but it's labeled as the 3500 SFI. It's totally eating away at me. It even looks like the same block. Did you just bore the motor and have a cover custom fabbed?
yes Chevrolet did. They had a 3.1 for a while and then came out with a 3.6. The engine in this car was a modified 3.1 liter that would later be just known as the 3.6. it was modified and put in this car before it came into production just a fun fact
Can u tell me at least all the parts i need cause im gonna upgrade my 2001 now and i need every part and where i can find especially that turbo charger
Benji 1998 my first car was a 98 Malibu. The transmission was bad. Bought a 2004 Classic for $500 from my aunt at 149k miles in 2018. It’s 2020 and I’m at 175k miles and she still runs like a beauty. This brother’s concept is excellent from the dew green flip paint to the interior upgrade with the panel stretch and racing seats 🔥 Makes me want to upgrade mine and show it!
Jaime Huff I tried to get in touch with the build supervisor and project leader but it's been many years and they won't answer me or maybe have passed away since. just to try and make sure the info was correct or not stuff like that.
Hosea Robinson They have SEMA convention in Las Vegas, the biggest automotive convention in USA, and all the car manufacturers gear up and make some cool stuff but nothing like this car anymore with the subs and stuff i mean. I got it and sold it never took it anywhere really
Hosea Robinson no I planned on it but the engine blew up because Chevy decided a turbocharger would be real cool looking for the show but didn't do anything to the engine and the engine committed suicide. And it only had like 10,000 actual miles on it when it stopped running
yeah but that's because they built it right after The Fast and Furious came out. the tailights you can't buy anywhere the wheels I agree didn't look good but that's what Chevrolet performance team picked
She’s clean bro 🧼 love my Malibu man just got her with less than 100k miles

Did general motors build that car or a tuner back in the day?
GM / Chevrolet Performance team built it themselves in the style of a tuner build. Pretty unique
Omg I had a Malibu like this model and I always dreamed of making it look like this. But it died previous owners didn't take care of it it was my first car...
Damn that’s unfortunate, I’ve seen some cool Malibus

That looks just like the concept Malibu in the magazine back in the 90s when GM did the concept of the Malibu
Yeah, that's the one
Isn't that the one from the car shows?? This car is on the malibu wikipedia!
it was in Barrett Jackson, Hot Rod Magazine, was at the Chevrolet Heritage museum and most notably was featured at SEMA in 2001 or so. I'm sure it made its way to plenty of car shows across the nation
Weres the battery at
Freddy Molina in the trunk underneath the amplifiers
Yea cause the turbo wouldnt fit if the battery is there huh
Yeah it still had charging terminals under the hood you could use the charge the battery in the back though
How much was it to put the turbo bro
Chevrolet custom built this car from the factory. No shop or normal guy did this work. Chevrolet performance team did this build for SEMA

Hosea Robinson That's a question for Chevrolet. It is a concept design by Chevy not an individual or an idividuals custom build. It was done in house by a Chevrolet team of some kind
Where can I find the headers ,I would like to add a turb0 to my 3100 v6
Nowhere, Chevrolet had them custom made. Unless an aftermarket manufacturer makes them now
Custom made at a muffler sh0p?
Rodney Norwood I didn’t find that information out from the original builders at Chevrolet Performance, it was built many many years before it got to me and not all of the information was supplied

I know some people that had a hand in making it, and I tryed to buy it in 2001.

What are the wheel & tire sizes?
Jaime Huff 19x8 Mills Miglia Evo wheels, toyo proxes can't remember the size tho sold the car
I saw an article that said the tires were 235 35ZR19 but gave two different sizes for the rim width (19x8 and 19x8.5). Thank you for the information!

Damn bro that thing is sexy. I wish the paint tho was silver or black. I have a 2002. Could I put any other v6 engines in it if I wanted to swap?
I have no idea what might fit. I’m sure someone somewhere has done it though!
The Buick 3.8 liter is practically a drop in application
