In this video learn about one of two ways to do the "Ring Thread Method" in needle tatting. This video will show you how to make the non-traditional method, with two threads. Stick around, or skip, to the next video for the traditional, one thread, "Ring Thread Method." Enjoy! ~ Katy
*If at any point this video is moving too fast for you, and you would like to take it slower, and get a better look at what I just did or follow along, RUclips has a video speed adjuster/slow motion setting, that is great to make use of.

Only video I found that taught left handlers - displayed slowly and repeatedly so could master the stitch. Thank you so much!

Am I understanding correctly that when doing this tatting off the ball, the entire length of the tail thread is the "core" that's pulled thru with the knots all wrapped around it?

Hmm. I don't think I've seen anyone do a double thread 'bare thread space before'. Interesting.

I love watching your vids and I have learned so much! What size thread are you using and where do you buy your threads? Thanks

I you a size 10 DMC Baroque crochet cotton for my videos and a lot of the item that I make. I just really love their ecru color. I came across it a lot time ago when I was looking for a thread to match vintage tatting that my grandmother's grandmother had made, it was the perfect match. You can find it on amazon, some craft stores (though I have not seen it in store for 4 or 5 years now), and I sell a white version on my etsy shop. www.etsy.com/shop/RustiKate

This looks very complicated to me. I’ll have to try next time I’m not working on a project already.
