Such a wonderful piece. So many good things to say but I’ll just mention a few - the way the orchestra swells at around 10:30 and 11:30 was very moving. And of course Liza Ferschtman was awesome. Also, I loved the way the wind instruments talked to each other. Thanks for sharing this music.

This is classic Vaugh Williams performed so beautifully. One would think he penned this while sitting under a tree in the English countryside watching a lark ascending a descending with grace. But I hear that he wrote this while riding on a train. Either way he captures the moment in a way we all can enjoy and find peace. By the way, it is so nice to see the conductor dress so smartly. I am bewildered by seeing the orchestra members in white tie and tails while the conductor is wearing black silk pajamas.

A lovely accounting of this moving, soothing, pastoral work. Superb playing by Liza Ferschtman and it's always a pleasure to watch Maestro Kochanovsky sculpt the music with those expressive hands.

one night, more than 20 years ago, i dreamt i saw a lark ascending at the countryside where my familiy used to go on holidays. this music is exactly what i felt watching this lark. i was very closed to my dad and i remember he sang me in french the song Alouette gentille alouette (alouette is a lark). he died 23 years ago and i'm sure he gave me a sign with the lark ascending in the dusk. ❤‍🩹❤❤

I’m not religious there’s no supernatural entity but when I listen to Ralph Vaughan Williams I imagine man’s heaven

@@Gleadless no, I can't either show you that, because it is about faith. But you said, that there is no supernatural entity. You cannot say so, because you don't know for sure and can't also prove the opposite. You may say: I don't believe in an supernatural entity. That is okay. But you cannot say, it doesnt exist only because you cannot see it.
There are so many things we don't know or can't see, because our physical abilities are very limitated. We don't know where we come from, we don't know where we will go after death. We don't know what is behind the horizint because we cannot see further. We don't know what another person thinks and feels. We don't know what happens in the same second on another continent some thousand miles away or on another planet.
If we could know and see and feel all this, we could clearly say that there is or that there is no higher being or a supernatural entity. But we cannot, and so it remains a thing of believing.

@@ulrichalbrecht9723 sorry, I can’t and won’t have as you mentioned “faith” in something written down from scribes in a war torn area in the Middle East which they named the bible, no evidence as ever proven the existence of your Jesus or god , faith is like a comfort blanket with a child but your faith which includes so many different cults called religion has created so much pain and division for centuries, I’m a retired cardiologist surgeon I went to court and thankfully won a case of a young 12 year old Jehovah’s Witness girl whose parents would not allow my staff to give a life saving blood transfusion so I could safely operate thankfully I got a judiciary to give me permission and save the child so please don’t tell me about faith
Do you believe in Santa clause, or the tooth fairy because they like your god are just as real to millions , you argue with Muslims , or Hindus or Protestants, catholics Buddhas etc etc etc all these religions and more suggest there’s more than one god , you’ve chosen your god why ? Why not the other thousands?? Because you’ve been indoctrinated into faith ,,, so sad “” you believers have caused so much pain and sorry you should be ashamed, why can’t you like me believe in humanity treat your neighbour as a friend and not competition??? You sound like a good person , educated etc but don’t ask me ever to have faith in a destructive force called religion
