Can someone please tell me how The Dance Awards actually works, if you know? I see the girl who placed 1st (Sylvie Win) did not even participate in the dance off, and Belle, who placed 3rd, somehow won? I’m now super confused at how this competition works! Anyways, congratulations to the Top 3! Beautiful dancers!
There are 2 different competitions. The Finals competition, where the dancers perform a solo and they're ranked in a top 10 - and there is the Best Dancer competition, wich holds solo performance, ballet and jazz auditions, dance off and solo recompete. Sylvie Win competed only the Finals, because she is competing Best Dancer at TDA Orlando.
@@maafeer5678 oh okay thank you! Do these 3 dancers have their recomputed solos on RUclips yet? I’d love to watch! They did so well, I just had no idea how they ended up being the chosen.
@@emilyk3256 yes, i've seen all the recompete solos on youtube. Also, one of the reasons people get confused about the Best Dancer results is because the auditions are private, some people don't even know the auditions are part of the score. So sometimes a dancer does really well with their solo and improv, but doesn't make it to top 3 due to the auditions scores.
@@maafeer5678oh I had no idea that there was an audition that they had to pass, too. Are the mini solos from Vegas 2024 recompetes on RUclips, yet? I have been looking for them every day but have not yet come across them. I really want to watch them :(

Note: the Finals and the Best Dancer competitions are not correlated. A dancers placement in the Finals does not affect their Best Dancer score.

Anyone else agree or is it just me. The announcer for the best dancers is so annoying and bad at pronouncing. Wish it was mike minary like last year.
