Cool Footage…seems a bit archaic but that’s just what it was almost 40 years ago… camera seemed to pan in on Fotiu, Beck , Greshner the most… also noticed Pavelich, ftorek, Hanlon, Patrick.Fotiu was massive and pretty fast.
Not really. The original building was completed in 1924, predating the start of the Rocket's career by almost 2 decades -- as the home rink of the expansion Maroons, no less. The Canadiens would not become co-tenants until 2 years later. Give Richard the lion's share of credit, however, for a 1949 renovation that expanded seating capacity from 9,000 to about 13,500. For the record, the clock over centre ice and the "hockey-stick" escalators facing Atwater Ave. were added in the 1968 reno.
We are happy to have started a game that went over our borders, but all over the world! Thnks to the world to tell us that we are appreciated at that point, with that, i ll link you the day the Forum had closed his doors, with us, the Canadians fans, sorry for my french, but at least you ll see ours stars players from the 40s t ill 96, and The Rocket Richard, the Mr. Hockey, had an ovation nearly 8 mins non-stop! I tell ya, its in french, but the players that are presented, are both, french and english. Here's the link, it was our saddest day of our heart's tradition! Playing Hockey! Thanks to the world. ruclips.net/video/QVry_zzoy_M/видео.html
I was in Montreal in January of 1976, but the Canadiens weren't at home that day. Never got a chance to see a game at the Forum.
