I remember finding out about Aaliyah’s death the next morning, I was only 9 years old at the time. It was a shock to me and her death is still shocking years later due to the fact that she was only 22 years old and had a bright future ahead of her which was cut short.
Michael Jackson was the most heartbreaking but Aaliyah is up there neck and neck with Kobe, Left eye Lopez , the original yellow ranger that also died in 2001 and then there is Jason David Frank who was the original Green ranger he died last year if you grew up in the 90's as a kid or even teenager you know who those ppl are.
@@Marvel_vs_Capcom84 no and i say that as an MJ fan. Aaliyah had all her life & career still ahead of her while MJ, as tragic and sad his life was, had the chance have it. But lets not make this a competition

just started listening to her recently (im so late!!!).. never realized how there was so many aaliyah fans in my neighborhood (they were wearing her shirts) it's crazy 😭 her legacy lives on ❤ what a beautiful soul she was
I remember Aaliyah's death very well on August 25th 2001 in the mids and end or Summer time for us New Yorkers and school age children its amazing how this happened so fast and all of a sudden. Just only 2 weeks until the day of that death became the worst tragedy in American 21st century history, September 11th 2001 2 weeks later. Over 3000 people are dead between the World Trade center of New York City, and 100 people are dead with another plane crashing over the pentagon and over Pennsylvania, a chain of events happened in 3 major parts of our country. It was only a 2 week period for Aaliyah's death. That is unexplainable and unremarkable reaction of life.
I remember thinking the same thing, like wtf? Aaliyah, now the World Trade Center? In 2 weeks? Both involving planes??? I was 17 at the time and remember both days vividly 😢 9/11/2001 was wild. Then 10 years later to the day of Aaliyah's death I lost my Granny, another blow. But, fly high, my babies! ❤ I miss you Granny and Aaliyah!❤❤❤
I was 15 and remember this one hitting me hard.. I had a massive crush on her and thought she was the next megastar. The craziest part was that 3 weeks later, everything would change forever 😔.
I remember listening to the news on radio. It was such a shock. She was a beautiful and talented young woman who seemed to have a great spirit. I know she would have done greater things if she were still alive today. RIP Aaliyah 🙏
Again, Rest in Peace A. It's crazy I was listening to the cd on Rock the boat at the time . I left the train to white planes Rd at the time and I put on the radio to save battery power. I had a Jvc cd. Player with digital radio and coincidentally " Rock the boat " was playing on the radio and it was like all the stations at once .so I get back on the train to o get back to Harlem and drop off some stuff and ai bumped into some of my friends that lived in the building down the block and one of the girls that hang with my friend came out and mentioned Aaliyah death because it was on 106 and Park when she saw it .the last time I saw 106 when Aaliyah was on and talking about bher album and her movie also ft" we need a Resolution " video and the Cadillac thing. So Pam said it and I was like "Are you Fcking Kidding me?" everybody was silent for like 5 minutes and then asked how. We just stood there and looking off down the block so I went home and my brother turned on the TV. Mind you he was freaked out because his birthday was the next day. I just so happen to be on an Airplane 4 days earlier from Louisiana to Dallas and a connecting flight to new York. Just so eerie too. I mean everyone that was in cars was playing" Rock the Boat "like every 20 minutes. Really sad.
@@Marvel_vs_Capcom84 at the time her Album just dropped 3 days earlier . I guess they were playing the song because of the relevancy and what video was shot when it happened.

I was 12 yo. I remember playing on my older brothers Super Nintendo and he came in and said, "Hey, did you hear that singer you like died?" I thought he was playing. I was devastated.. Bought "One In A Million" because she reminder me of myself. Long hair. Tom boy. Loved her dancing. She was just too young. And I don't believe her work was done here yet. So unfortunate
First it was Princess Diana Then JFK Jr Then Aaliyah Then 9/11 which shocked the world I think after 9/11 happened people stoped talking about Aaliyah Because Bin Latin killed so many people a month later.
@@themaverickfiles2020Yes. VigilantCitizen had an article about Aaliyah being drugged and then put on the plane. She was a nervous flier and would not have gotten on an obviously overloaded plane. Someone in her circle wrote a book about it.
@@archangel1527 yes I’ve read that and it resonated because she wouldn’t have made a careless decision like that so it’s clear she was unconscious. Of course how convenient that no one on board survived either. Kobe’s “accident” was also similar in several ways.

From all reports the plane was overloaded.
Also the pilot was Inebriated
