Streetslogic WE STILL FUCK WITH PETE ROCK N CL SMOOTH, WE STILL PACK THE SHOWS WHEN WHODINI COMES OVER TO OUR SHORES...WE STILL BUY ROXANNE SHANTE MUSIC...THE ESSENCE OF REAL HIP HOP ALIVE IN EUROPE..
He gave an interesting perspective on rap music just now: "You want your words to be heard". That's really deep, because even if you're not the best lyricist you can still tell your story and have something meaningful to say. So if I met a Yatchy or one of these mumble rappers I would just ask, "what are your words on these songs saying?" Like what are you hoping to express through your music? I'd be interested to see what they would say since they barely use words in the first place.
In hardcore/punk cats were screaming, but the lyrics were all meaningful. Concious if you will. Bad Brains, Underdog, Absolution, Bold, Youth of Today, etc...C'mon!
Yeah, and then there’s the Boredoms... ignorant but genius shit, especially when Eye teamed up with John Zorn in Naked City for very complicated music and lyrics that go from howls to growls, from screeches to screams. Bad Brains is one of my favorites, but it was often meant to be so fast people wouldn’t understand and sometimes had screaming that was purposefully annoying-and it’s great.
It's a different culture now, it's Pop Culture now, not Hip Hop...If you were born in the 60s, 70s and some the early 80s you were introduced to Hip Hop as Hip Hop Culture. If you were born in the mid/late 80s & after you were introduced to Pop Culture. That in itself causes a complete separation from the foundation & the elements. The educational process is non existent in the Pop Culture Era! A dude/chic born in 1983 wasn't old enough to intake the beginning of the Golden Era with Ra, KRS, Kane & G Rap, etc...But if they really were passionate about the culture & the music once they were old enough to get hooked (Late 80s, early 90s), they eventually went back to discover & learn about the history of the music & culture. You're not going to find many fans of the culture in their Teens & 20s & even some in their 30s of today who are interested in going back & learning the history & music before their time. Corporations wanted this & they got it! Hip Hop Culture is the Liner Notes era....if you're a part of it, you know!
WCLSmooth I was born into 91 so I basically got a mix of everything and had to choose. I chose one foot In each school to utilize old and new .. but favor older music better than the new shit in terms of content. although I have to be honest about lyricism. it has improved today in the underground as compared to the past era.. especially when you hear tech n9ne or some twisted insane .. you can ignore tech these days if you already heard his older music. but twisted insane is worth a look in 2017

They've done such a good job removing fathers from the hood they felt guilty and offered up some toxic mumble rappers as a replacement for dad. Can't have Chuck D raising your kids now.
John Malcolm
TBH... you are correct. Absolutely Correct.
John Malcolm only a father can raise his son dipshit. Maybe the problem is you dickheads looking to athletes and entertainers to raise your kids. 🤔
beautifully said
Very good point made. Europeans have more respect for Hip Hop and lyrics then dumb down American's
I hope you're not talking about British rappers
***** The best?
UK Rappers = 🔥 💩
Sean Slicko you buggin out homie
He gave an interesting perspective on rap music just now: "You want your words to be heard". That's really deep, because even if you're not the best lyricist you can still tell your story and have something meaningful to say. So if I met a Yatchy or one of these mumble rappers I would just ask, "what are your words on these songs saying?" Like what are you hoping to express through your music? I'd be interested to see what they would say since they barely use words in the first place.
Great clip from the full interview! He speaks the truth ✌️
What he said about infants being blown away by peek a boo, because of the limits of their intelligence, that was a great analogy.
God damn, his new album sounds dope as shit. Those features are incredible...
I chose one foot In each school to utilize old and new .. but favor older music better than the new shit in terms of content. although I have to be honest about lyricism. it has improved today in the underground as compared to the past era.. especially when you hear tech n9ne or some twisted insane .. you can ignore tech these days if you already heard his older music. but twisted insane is worth a look in 2017
WCLSmooth DAAMN..U PUT THAT PERFECTLY! ..
I was born in 1984 and I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. If you were born in 90 and after, then you may not know about real rap, but 80's babies know the difference. Please don't try to play us. LOL
B. Wynn same here, born in 84 and never got it misconstrued and always had an appreciation for real rap, never was on no pop shit growing up. In my house growing up was a super diverse mix of music but it was all the classic shit, from lynard skynard, to al greene to rakim jefferson airplane, jimmi hendrix LL, KRS one, so on and so forth
I first started listening to rap in the early 90's around 95-96. first artist to me were pac and snoop, ive been a fanatic of early rap since, i lesrnt about NWA and their movement then moved to earlier artists lile KRS, Ice T, Rakim, so much back story to hip hop and noe it seems all lost. no one is interested in how it came to be
Scientific fact: if there's a "Lil" somewhere in the rapper's name, it's garbage.
Psyk078 excluding Wayne
Especially Wayne.
With the exception of Lil Dap from group home
2 exceptions though: Lil Dap from Group Home and Lil Fame from MOP
You stupid if you thinking "especially wayne".. Have you listened to his mixtapes? Or his stuff in the late 90s... Wayne was a wordsmith too. Fuck outta here with that shit, you sound dumb af...
Came here 2 pay respect 2 a legend peace Kool G

Tupac Shakur correction mainstream rap is shitty for the most part, underground is great as always
Bar God. One of the best ever to do it. Believe that. Fast Life forever.
People hate on Yachty so hard but he's one of the dudes that actually took the OGs advice and upped his wordplay. Gotta respect him for that
"The Shawn Price song, that was something you guys worked on while he was still alive?" No, they recorded his parts on an EMF meter.
Agreed dumbest question ever
Lmao....I love Kool G Rap music....dude is an icon in hip hop culture hands down but damn he like 80 years old bout to drop an album😂😂😂😂....damn, that's called true passion for his craft in music💯

Highlights:
Kool G Rap stares at VLAD in such a still pose that it appears that RUclips froze. 11:21 - 11:31
Classic moments of wisdom: 1:26, 2:19 - 3:00, 4:30
G Rap on some real talk right here. "entertained to the limit of their own intellect" I am in awe, and is still one of my favorite rappers of all time!
You should ask how rappers think about Wu-Tang, haven't seen any thoughts by rappers of Wu-Tang in the channel
r4ch they better put respect on their name
hip hop is dying slowly......
sad but true
greetings from germany
Ronny Joseph it’s still alive. Artists like RAPSODY, ODDISEE, and Phonte to name a few, give me hope for the culture
No rap is ( radio play) underground got gip hop
German HipHop is worse
it lives in underground tho
Kool G be sitting there looking like either security detail or about to go to war in a moment like he still deciding whether rob Vlad or not lol then puts this into words so perfectly that whether you 5 or 95 you get it and cant help but agree
"london bridge is falling down" and that shit is bananas to them hahahahhhh
K-Rino, Vinnie Paz, Akala, and Lowkey are the most underrated Artists of all time, rn off the top my head.
I Can't Wait Til Kool G Rap Drop His New Shit.
+Fli-City810 Ramsey I'm at you the only way you dumb niggas understand. Now go buy that trash... Lol "Come at me correct" Man, you can't be serious...
ITs out! KGR's lyricism is still better than his peers & juniors. Not the greatest production in the world with having Moss, & it was more of compilation with only 2 solo songs. But G Rap still spitting at his finest. Hope he still drop "Hustla's Bible"
Take a shot everytime he says "you know what im saying".
By the end you wont know what anyone is saying.
wow ! i Dont know what to say.....So many real hiphop artists is passing away. i miss Sean P, Alot of Respect for u Kool G Rap
Even the party records were more lyrical than the mumble rap songs... "It takes two", "Bust a move", "The Humpty Dance", "Good Vibrations", "Push It", "Ice Ice Baby", "Gettin' Jiggy Wit it" "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems", "Hypnotize" just to name a few.
Vlad didn't know what G-RAP was referring to when he mentioned the song Pee Wee Herman as a party song!!
this is the best interview of the year but i still dnt fux with vlad
dem features are insane holy shit.
I bet none of them charged too.
"How do you mumble rap?" -Giacanna
G rap is a living legend spiting facts in all of his tracks
Stacking on these money racks
Great interview 🎤🎛🎚🎧Kool G Rap handled that like the champ that he is.! Brilliant.
This years will be reminded as the No-sense Music Era!
Man I hope somewhere down the line someone starts a hip hop hall of fame, if that ever happens Kool G Rap is first ballot h.o.f hands down...
Hip hop artists go into the rock n roll hall of fame
That’s funny he hit it on the nose with “Peek A Boo” by accident. Lmao
"they got a brother on the run" "what man what" "wake up stupid we gotta go" hahaha still listen to that joint till today
'A person will be entertained to the limit of their intellect'... Damn! I couldn't agree more with G on this. Always had huge respect for him. There always was more depth to his music than your average.
for those with high intellect... look up a guy named K-RINO
respect to K-RINO, but that shit toooo underground. not everyone would dig it unlike the mummble shit we have.
