RA The Rugged Man to Mumble Rappers: Take the C**k Out of Your Mouth

  • While the world is going crazy over Migos' hit single "Bad and Bougie"- thanks to Donald Glover's shout-out at the Golden Globes-RA the Rugged Man tells us that he's never heard the song and after listening to it with DJ Vlad, he's not a fan. Although the rapper says he scouts for fresh artists, he explains people tend to recommend hot artists to his taste. He tells VladTV, "I bring rappers on tour with me. I got dudes that are monstrous, but a lot of people in my circle, they'll go 'Yo, you got to listen." He explained, "If Migos were for me, I'm not saying that it's not, but if it was really for me a lot of people would go, 'Yo, you got to give these boys a chance. Go listen to that."
    Watch above.

    *DOUBLE TIME RAP HISTORY ⬇*
    1. Twista aka Tongue Twista started it and was forgotten.
    2. 3-6 brought it back.
    3. Bone Thugs popularized it.
    4. Migos f*cked it up.
    NOT DEBATABLE.

Metal bands like Tool, Opeth, Meshuggah, & Gojira have among some of the most cerebral/spiritually substantial lyrics and meaning in all of music. You might not like the vocals, but the substance is undeniable. Hip hop and rap in general is just more accessible to the people not so much into the feeling of rage incarnate on a track. Though I find that most scholars of lyricism are willing to venture out & entertain the possibility that some of the guys growling and sounding inhuman on a mic are actually sharing substance, occult concepts, and power.

What people don't remember is that "Mumble rap" came out of the junky era when rappers first started talking about Lean and E-pills, Zannies and etc, It was originally supposed to sound like the rapper was turnt on lean or pills, Thus the mumble or dragged sound in the voice, Its the same voice you have when you're off lean and pills, That's not my opinion it, For some reason, Is a fect that people forgot, In the mid 2000's, Kind of starting with the Hyphy movement(That was big with X pills, Thizzin, Lean and extra stuff, Than rappers (Before lil wayne) Started mumbling over their songs as if they were in the studio off of lean and shit.

Somebody doesn’t like country music, it’s okay, you don’t like metal? That’s cool. As soon as you don’t like Migos or Lil Pump or whoever popping right now you’re automatically hating. ok, Vlad. Good on ya for bringing up Rock&Roll's twisted tendency to work gibberish and hard to hear lyrics into the mix. but you can go back to the 60's Rock for those kinda examples as well (knowing you were keeping it topical to the '80's for your viewers and guest, i feel your references and their relevance). Look at "Louie, Louie", hermano.
RA's recognition of what he feels (from movies to music) is what it's ALL about. i'm totally on the same page about not feeling the pop music. the 100's portion of my radio dial ain't got no presets.
and the Soul and R&B does it better. Every-Time.
Love the Beatles and a lot of other pop that other folks might not even consider.
But look at Aretha Franklin's version of Eleanor Rigby vs. the Beatles. Look at Stevie Wonder's version of We Can Work It Out vs. the Beatles. The Beatles were great songwriters and seasoned performers. I can feel where RA's coming from on how those singers with Soul power, hit him.
