Ironically that launchpad is probably more expensive than a nice midi
not a launchpad moment
Took the words right out of my mouth XD
Yup you can buy a sl88 studio for cheaper damn...
You sound like the kinda guy who would eat dry noodle fast lmao
Even many launchpads have dynamic buttons, this one doesn’t.
a true midichad

I actually love your mutual love. Keep loving, live is love. Love & love.
@@Composerily You can use that for isomorphic or microtonal music
Marble Soda from yours is arguably the best Midi board song ever. 👌
@@Composerily what is the thing you use to play the music
The fact that this is way more complicated than actually playing the piano makes it even better.
well in all fairness fur Elise wasn’t supposed to be that difficult (or at least the opening)

It’s weird how different piano sounds without the fade away that the keys have. When he stops hitting the button the sound stops but on a normal piano the note kinda fades away. Nonetheless it is still really impressive
but like keyboards have also existed for a long time i think
No, the fade away only happens if you use a sustain pedal. If not it sounds exactly like the video
@@paradoxmeld2937 oh I didn’t know that, I’m only talking as someone who has listened to piano.
@@kremit_frog4031 Fairs, have a good day 👍
YT videos also often have exagerated reverbs that you'd never have irl with an average piano
I'm actually more impressed you can play Rondo Alla Turca on an 8x8 controller than on a piano.
Hey RGTM fancy seeing you here
He can't. At 0:31 he misses the button but it lights up anyways.
8x8 is too small, we must think bigger
@@SylvainHunter yoooooo what's good
@@augustdeer so its fake?
I'm just wondering how he has such good dynamics when he's literally pushing buttons
Same.
The actual notes are pre-programmed. He just has to hit the right buttons. Kind of like Guitar Hero.
@@Typhoon792 He's playing the same notes with the same buttons but the volume is different for each run. I don't know how his launchpad works so I'm not sure if there's a second input like a pedal or a variable input built into the launchpad
It suprises me the amount of people calling this a launchpad- its a fighter 64-

Let’s be real here this is just as impressive and challenging to do as a piano
I've played piano for 8 years, and this, this is really impressive

I’ve played piano for 14 years and this is, indeed, very impressive.
I’ve played piano for 4 years and this is very impressive
I never touched a piano and this is really impressive
I started playing last year and I already composed an anthem ahah, but I can't play Turkish March yet
The end though, it is very lit. You never disappoint us .

Hello again
The title: when you can’t afford a piano.
Me: isn’t this more expensive?
They can be about the same price depending on the brand and quality. Most good pianos are much more spendy than this thing though.
piano depends on the wood, craftsmanship, the maker and the tuner
better of any of those i mentioned especially the maker, the price can be extremely expensive
and antique pianos after fixing, tuning and overhauling is extremely expensive
and piano needs yearly maintenance aka tuning which also costs quite a bit
so in a sense, piano is actually more expensive overall
A grand steinway is about 500K to maybe 1.2 million. Worth more than your house, and certainly this piece of dinky plastic.
Who will have grand piano as beginners? I only got a 61 keys electric piano.

Can we just talk how this content creator did a total 360 on his channel and tripled or even quadrupled his views? Total mad respect, sir! Looking forward to the next melody
180*
180 lol 360 would be nothing
360 means he ended up where he was to begin with😅 Like others said, you probably mean 180😊
Still grateful you didn't leave
RUclips recommendations never seem to be accurate but also never disappoint.
The fact he also did the Turkish March's dynamics perfectly makes this a true masterpiece
ive always wondered how long it takes to memorize a song on these
You can program it to always play the right note regardless where you press. I'm not saying this is how he did it, but its not hard to do
@@rederickfroders1978 interesting....
@@rederickfroders1978 Hmm.... Nice
@@rederickfroders1978 but I would think it would still take time to learn patterns to make it look real
It's no different from playing a piano really. If you set it up so that each row has the exact same notes just different octaves, it actually doesn't take too long to memorize, especially if you're used to playing piano. Ofc there are ways to fake it, and a lot do fake it, but in this case it wouldn't really be necessary and probably just more work
imagine how much skill this must take. this dude deserves lots of subs
I was expecting a digitized twist at the end, got something better.
Man it's so cool to see how these midi fighter videos blew up because I was JUST thinking the past few months that it was kinda sad that launchpad light shows and performances had kind of faded away after the late 2010s and become less common, even though they were the thing that convinced me last year to get into music production in the first place.
So yeah, you accidentally just revived a dying genre of video, absolute legend
Perhaps musicians just stopped doing midi performances, they never stopped being popular. It was probably easier to focus on the music than it was to make a light show? Idk honestly, I just know I’ve always been interested in these kinds of midis
Much more aesthetically pleasing
Adding The Still D.R.E tune in absolutely everything makes the thing even better and seem more LEGENDARY
Wtf dude hit the sequence just right, so many pianists hit hitting all three keys at once. Man's finger rolls are perfect.
The ending made me cry.
When you can't afford a piano, but you can afford a freaking Launchpad...
At 0:31 seconds, you completely miss the button, but it still lights up. This is actually pretty impressive to accomplish, but come on my man.
damn
that sucks
this man doing a softcover over here lol
Well it’s still very impressive that he hit most of the notes at the right time, he coded the notes anyway
@@HornaracH No absolutely. It's actually, imo, more impressive this way because he has to follow along to a track doing something that he'd have to do if it worked like it did. I just don't see why he didn't make it work like we all think it does
@@OliviaSNava Got this from another person in another reply section, "I’m pretty sure this is a softcover: where someone plays as if it was real, but adds the audio in post for whatever reason. In this case, the reason is probably because the MIDIFighter isn’t velocity sensitive, so, if this were real, every note would be the exact same volume. So the audio is fake, but I’m sure he’s fully capable of doing it for real." - I'm not tryna fight with you, just adding possibilities. Though I do agree that even if it is fake, it's still pretty impressive
Edit: Looking closer, it doesn't seem like he missed any notes. I'm not sure if I missed the note he missed, but I played it in slow motion, and he just hit it really fast, making the illusion of a note being missed
@@rainii9639 you are very correct, however he did miss one button, and you have to tap fairly hard to hit it so there shouldn't be that illusion anywhere
Dang that song brings back so many memories..
Dude, how?? This looks 10x harder than a piano wtf?? Mad respect
Okay all jokes aside, I really love this ! The effort is really great and epic. It's like the hands are having a dance party, It's rlly satisfying to watch this ngl . 😻
The dynamics he added in 👌
A flexible mind is a far greater gift than a good memory. I've worked as a warehouse assistant and a microbiologist and I respect the warehouse manager far more than any lab manager. The shit he could manage to pull with the shit-all resources the company gave him were amazing.
Awesome but who asked?
@@Capybara_me11 You must have self-esteem issues. I feel for you

How did you still get me at the end?!?!
"Guess who's back."
"Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart."
But you can afford a whole RUclips setup with perfect sound

@Flower no, not fax actually
I got a simply panic ad with this exact song in it before the video
This unironically appears to be harder, and more expensive, than cheap digital piano. Note to mention, the key's are splayed on a square pad rather than a continuous gradient of keys from low to high.

It might just be me but playing on a launchpad as a piano looks more difficult than playing actual piano, love these short vids man also please make a patreon (because fiverr is terrible), you deserve our support for all the top notch content you do.
the talent is another level like what!
I see what you did at the end there.
As a person who has genuinely not known of this thing’s existence, this is very confusing and impressive
A simply piano ad appeared when I was about to watch the video lol-
I play piano and to be honest in my opinion that is harder then learning the keys because they aren’t in a row where you remember them lol
yes, like these people saying ‘this is a lot harder than piano !1!1!1,11!,!’ even though they haven’t even played a launchpad or piano in their entire lifetime
Do you "play" the piano or actually PLAY the piano? Just asking, cause I've been playing for 20 years (with a long classical training) and this seems like a joke. I very much hope this doesn't sound elitist, it's just the way things are, I don't know.
I play piano too, and launchpad is definitely easier because they can decide where the keys go. Still mad impressive.
It looks infinitely harder to learn something like this
I appreciate the simply piano ad before this.
And I can’t even afford a MIDI Fighter
I think im more impressed by this then when it is played on a piano.
The fact I got a simply piano ad at the beginning is phenomenal
for some reason, idk why playing piano in a launchpad is a bit better than playing from an actual piano...
you can choose where each note will be...
@@RafaelMedeiros-dr7sw Not like he made it super easy on himself lol
@@RafaelMedeiros-dr7sw i mean, any launchpad is technically a 64-key midi piano. without any modification, it works as if it were a 61-key keyboard with 3 additional keys
Isomorphism? Microtonable?
Video should be titled " when you don't need a piano😂😂
the simply piano ad i saw before this video played also played this song?!?!
How do you play the dynamics? Is it touch/weight sensitive or it's post-processing? 🤔
I'm genuinely curious because I'm not familiar with that device, and I only (limitedly) know that the device is usually used to make beats/loops. I'll be thankful for any enlightenment.
Most likely finely tuned weight and temperature sensors, a good gyroscope sensor too. Our hands and fingers can create a few grams of pressure up to hundreds of grams at once, so find the median and you can pull it off with the right hardware instructions and middleware. The Seaboard does a very similar thing.
This device actually has no dynamics. The performance is not really live, the audio has been touched up in post to add note volumes and then the edited sound has been dubbed over the video original recording. Kinda deceiving, but it's makes for a cool RUclips video.
The way that he manages to remember where the notes are is absolutely insane
That’s the same way I feel, when the music plays.
i feel like this should be more expensive than an entire grand piano but here we are.
