- In this video we’re spending a perfect day exploring Mauritius by car. We start the day at the beach in Flic en Flac at our favourite beach spot. We then review our favourite ice cream that’s from Mauritius (called Kulfi Malai) and super tasty! For lunch we taste delicious Mauritian/Creole food at a family restaurant called Creole Shack. Our plan was then to drive further inland to check out the local market in Quatre Bornes and the park on top of a dormant volcano called Trou aux Cerfs. In the evening we make it back just in time to Flic en Flac to enjoy a great sunset at our favourite beach spot.

This video is part of a multi-part series of our ultimate ROAD TRIP THROUGH MAURITIUS! Mauritius is a popular honeymoon and beach holiday destination but it has so much more to offer than beautiful beaches (although there are many of them as well). We’re really excited to get to know this African island country and its culture and cuisine. On our road trip we’ll spend three weeks driving from the South up the West coast, then further into the North and finally down the East coast. Our goal is to get to know Mauritius from all sides, as well as check out its beautiful beaches and nature.

Hey guys, thanks for the awesome content. We were in Mauritius last week and went to Creole Shack on your recommendation. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Also showed the chef/owner your this video and she was pleasantly surprised 🙂 that she was on RUclips.
Thank you! 😊 The owners are really sweet, so we're happy to hear that. Hope you had a great time on Mauritius! 🙂
@@ZoeandSimon They are such lovely people. We had an amazing time thanks so much. Lots of love from South Africa...come visit soon ❤
These videos are really helping me organizing our trip to Mauritius next month. I am taking a lot of notes! Good job, thanks to you both! Ciao from Italy.
I am loving your videos - makes me so homesick for Mauritius which I adore! Haven't been back in 4 years cos of Covid but hope to return next year. Thanks for the tip about the ice cream which is new to us so will have a look for it and think of you when we eat it. Safe travels, Zoe and Simon!!!
Thank you very much, we're happy you're enjoying our videos! We're also missing Mauritius already and would love to visit again in the future. We hope that you can return soon and try some Kulfi! 😊
I love the way you portrait the Quatre Bornes market. It’s definitely not a tourist hotspot but more of a local place to buy stuffs.
Just started watching your channel, kudos to you both!
Enjoy your day and drive safe.
Thank you! 😊
As a Mauritian I can confirm it is absolutely BURNING. The water is amazingly clear, astonishing food and you will have huge mosquito bites.

See you again 👋👋
Thank you very much! 😊❤️
Hey Zoe and Simon 😊 this is so random and funny at the same time. I'm currently visiting my brother in NRW (we are both from Mauritius ; He lives in Krefeld and I live in Paris but I did my Erasmus in Leipzig like 4 years ago) and we were looking for food videos from home as it's been a while since we went back to our island ^^ Wir haben gerade ihren RUclips-Kanal entdeckt and we've been binge watching everything! 😄 Have fun over there and enjoy the sunny weather, it's freezing out here in EU 😅 viel spaß und liebe gruße!
Hi, we're happy to hear you're enjoying our videos! 😊 We loved our time on Mauritius and we're now back in cold and windy Hamburg and we wish we could go back immediately 😁 Greetings to Krefeld - we'll be posting a few more food specific videos from Mauritius soon 😋
Such a beautiful couple ! And so wonderful videos! Thank you guys!
Thank you very much, we're glad you're enjoying our videos! 😊
enjoying your videos, planning on visiting Mauritius October 2024 for a couple of weeks and also Madagascar!
Thank you, that's nice to hear! Hope you have a great time in Mauritius - Madagascar is probably really cool too! ☺️
Hello Buddies. i love your facial expressions the most🥰😍
Mauritius 🇲🇺 🦋
🇲🇺❤️
Nice video
Well explaine abt mauritius
I am sitting in my bed in Berlin and just watching random videos about my homeland when I suddenly I hear, "Nach 200 metern links abbiegen" and am like " Ach du scheisse " 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha, sorry for the shock! 😁
Based on this video we just had a kulfi malai ice cream bar from the supermarket in Flic en Flac. Yum!!! There will be more. Thank you. 😁
Aw that's cool to hear, we're happy you liked it! 😊 Now we're really craving one too - too bad that they aren't available in Germany. Hope you're having a great time on Mauritius!
Hello, all breaches are public, you can stay there as much as you want, even if it's in front of hotels. Nobody will chase you away.
In which period of the year have you been there? and how hot was the ocean water?
We were there in December and the water temperature was nice! 😊
I can't live in Mauritius without being in Quatre Bornes, Rose Hill or Curepipe... and I'm not interested in the coastal villages where it's too hot, humid and people very different... they are worlds apart as exemplified by that contrast between Curepipe and Flic-en-Flac. It rains 90% of the time in Curepipe and that's the way I like Mauritius... cool, rainy and windy
Curepipe is definitely very charming too! We like a good mix between coastal towns and the often less touristy towns further inland. Both have their advantages and the overall vibe is different.
Was the GPS in German??? seid ihr aus DE???
Haha yep, wir kommen aus Hamburg 🙂
This guy has got the most Mauritian accent.
Nice video. However Rs750 per person for that three course meal is very expensive. The food is simple. If you are in flic en flac, try Ah Youn restaurant. Youbwill love their food.
Thank you, yes the menu is definitely on the pricier side, but we enjoyed the nice setting and hospitality 🙂 We'll give Ah Youn a go next time we're in Flic en Flac!
Would you consider living there in/on Mauritius?
We'd love to spend a longer period of time on Mauritius working remotely! 🙂
But i really wanted to see the sun set 🥺
We already selected the best shots that look good on camera 😁
Hi from mru
Hi! Thanks for watching 😊
Fyi beaches are public properties.no resort can forbid you from walking on any beach
Flic en flac is west coast
You ate Indian food not creole food.
I'm a Mauritian resident. For that three course menu, that was expensive!
