  • In this comic short from D.W. Griffith, young lovebirds Frank (Billy Quirk) and Alice (Mary Pickford) are torn apart when Frank mistakenly plants a kiss on the lips of Alice's sister (Florence Lawrence). Frank resorts to a dramatic and desperate measure-- or at least pretends to-- in order to re-secure Alice's attentions. She is, of course, more than happy to grant them.
My 8mm copy of the film lacks the usual introductory text roll present before most all prints that were distributed by Blackhawk. This is due to the previous owner splicing another Blackhawk intro text onto what should've been 'Sweet and Twenty's. I was able to scan two or three frames of the correct intro text, which appeared right before the title card. It states that the exteriors were filmed in Greenwich, Connecticut.
As I lack most of the intro text, I also lack any info it could've provided as to the original print source. My educated guess is that my print was copied at some point in the 1950s or 1960s from a paper print positive held by the Library of Congress.
The silhouetting effect present around all frame edges is present on the print itself, and was not added by me in post.
