That Milwaukee drill is a beast. Makes a great drill press. Portable drill press.
Mag drill HORROR STORY ......... About 8' up a ladder on the side of a tank, drilling with a great BIG old B&D mag drill that must have weighed 75#. When a mindless CLOWN on a towmotor runs over my power cord, tearing the plug out of the receptical.
No, I didn't have the drill tethered, and I didn't drop the drill, but I DID tweak the HELL out of my back when that drill came loose.
ALWAYS tether that tool.
Seem never to run out of good material for another great video. Thanks for taking us along.
Really enjoying your videos, Andy & crew.
I enjoy watching this. Because you take the time to show me step by step.
Looks like a nice little unit. Thanks for.the demo Andy.
I drunk bought that exact vevor mag drill last winter, I’ve been nothing but impressed with that unit, the oiler is in the way so it got tossed. Have owned a Milwaukee mag drill for years and at this point I use the vevor more especially for smaller holes
Drunk bought haha...
I've drunk quite a lot of stuff too😂😂😂
Thanks Andy for all the videos 👍
I always liked to have a stack of pallets under the area where I'm drilling, both to set the drill on when moving it and also for a possible emergency landing. I've always thought that there should be an interlock so you can't turn the magnet off while the drill is running but nobody seems to do that.
Those are pretty good drills, they are rated quite high! I dont own one,but have used one,and it was great!
Hi Andy !
good demo!
Thanks Andy for your time and have a good day bud ! 🙋♂️
I bought a Fein,it came in a really nice case which sold me on it since it'll ride around in my service truck
I love it when you get new stuff here that snap-on
That looks like a good mag drill thank for the information Andy as always great video
Great video Andy, very informative as you explain what you are doing and why.. I'm like the look of the mag drill. I've been looking at them for some time now and this one is the sort of thing that would suit me, as I'm only a "diy" mechanic so I wouldn't be using it every day like you said in the video, the only factor left for me witch you weren't sure about would be price...
Great Demo Andy, thanks. John
looks a good drill thanks for the video andy
Thanks Andy. Great demo. The things that come in the mail!! lol!
Sharing knowledge: When I'm having issues mounting a mag drill on a piece of work (repairing railroad bridge steel structures). I'll clap on a piece of 1/2" steel plate first. Then set my mag drill up on that so the mag drill has a flat solid base to mag off of. Best wishes with the new tool.
In another video I watched of these drills, a guy did reverse the handle on it, so you can actually do it, but you have to undo it, so it's not a super quick and simple thing to do, but can be done in about 3 mins if you wanted to do it.
I reversed mine
@@FarmingFixingFabricating Oh awesome!!
I just got mine delivered about an hour ago, and it's lookin pretty cool!
Thanks for the vid!!!
Another good one Andy KEEP THEM COMING 🐄 🚜 🇺🇲 🌽 🐘 👍
I don’t do much drilling but I find new engine oil works a treat
Interesting. I like the JD hat 'yer wearing Andy. Nice colour combination.
Enjoyed the video Andy 😊
Andy it’s not a bad thing to do these things on your channel don’t act so sad man it’s nice to see people use stuff bc we know if we should buy one or not haha thanks for your videos man awesome content !!!!!
I have bought many items from Vevor, I'm about ready to drop my Vevor 1.5 HP well pump down the hole. It's all stainless and seems built well.
Hmmm. Sounds interesting. I had to replace a submersible pump that has a cracked plastic top fitting. Happened to have a unit handy, but wasn't new. Maybe a Vevor is worth getting on hand.
Great info, thanks for sharing this
Thank you you are a very good teacher and Boces or class your shop and I know the kids need to learn of lot of stuff you do at the farm and tricks you do and troubleshoot to get to get it running get it back home to work on it today I and I used to troubleshoot my old 71 GMC pick up know the new pick up I don’t know we’re to look with out special tools you need today
Seems like a good drill hope it works out well for u
I can certainly see where being able to have handle on both sides could be a bonus
I Have a similar mag drill as the Vivor for work and with Cobalt alloy annular cutter drills it cuts mild steel like wood and Hardox like normal steel!
The only thing missing on the cheap drills are a speed setting to slow them down for drilling harder steel.
They do have a variable speed drill as well with reverse
Yeah Andy. I've never drilled thru my work surface under drill press either. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Safety glasses work great up on your hat!
Uh oh
Another good video
Chris Duffy is a Vevor fan drill seems to work well
Another great video Andy uh get those safety glasses on there bud
it looks like the milwaukee for the win
They have many versions of the drill on the site
Hopefully you have better luck with that drill than I did with the vevor electric heavy duty handheld pipe threader. Paid $400 for it and the 1st one cooked the motor during second thread, got a replacement through Amazon and the second didn't make it past 8 threads. Only cutting 1/2" threads
That’s too bad
I can see a couple of uses for a smaller mag drill. But the drill depth isn't deep enough. And it's hard to beat the Milwaukee. Mine is 40 years old and going strong.
Ohhhh yeaaaa
Andy , Yelling at the Screen , you forgot to reposition the plate for the second hole ✌️, But i guess yah didnt hear me 🙏
Hi Andy, I want to sound thick headed and say that with my experience on the Milwaukee mag drills that there is nothing better, BUT when trying to climb a ladder or rig it vertical, there’s nothing like a mag drill like that only weighs about half of what the Milwaukee weighs. I just wish the little mag drills went down to 250 rpm also
There are some in the step above the cheapest segment that offer variable speed settings, which is almost needed for hardened steel or you'll have a high risk of burning the expensive cobalt cutter... guess how I know.
There are some variable speed ones
When is the Andy Tool Show coming to U Tube Make you get a good looking co host Cheers
Well he's already Hollywood Andy so it would make sense 😂😂😂
Must out safety glasses on to save eyes when drilling
And Farm On
Andy
Their info claims 2922lbf of magnetic force. "Understand the Power: 2922lbf / 13000N of robust force is created by the electromagnetic thickened base, featuring pure iron anchors the mag drill press solidly works at any angle stably during the drilling process. Equipped 11pcs drill bits can meet your various boring needs for a wide range of hole diameters. "
Does that drill come with extra brushes?
Looks like ya all will be building another silage box shortly
That drill has same issues that almost every reciprocating saw has. Speed is way to high so it wears out the bits and or blades faster.
That old Milwaukee mag drill might be 25 years old, but it's 10x the machine of the other one.
Yes but a cheaper smaller and more agile one is easier to risk and actually use in needed situations, I guess that big Milwaukee mag drill was quite expensive 25 years ago...
@@TheBibliofilus Even the new Milwaukee's are expensive if you get one similar to Andy's.
First feel like I did a wheelie an survived
👍🚜
Jarrod looks like he is into the Fixing part, which child is going take over the Fabricating part.
Never seen Alex and Sarah help build silage boxes?
@@8DeereFarm I’m pretty sure they did a lot of welding last year on those boxes. I could be wrong.
The girls are good fab builders
Those girls did majority of the welding on the last 3 silage boxes he has built
Lol thier a decent mag drill and thier so cheap even if u put it in a service truck and bouncing around
Thay d-Mags are very heavy.
Those warning labels on the truck frame are for people that don’t know what they’re doing and can’t read.
Ia a qal
Ff&f should partner with Duffy Ag who will Partner with anyone who's willing to partner with him. A great big partner party sharing partners.
Ok
IT IS A PIG WITH LIP STICK/ MADE IN CHINA ILL BET/ SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY A QUALITY MAG DRILL./ I HAVE LEARNT FROM EXPERIENCE WITH BUYING TOOLS YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR / ANDY DID THEY SEND YOU A BOX OF CANDY TO BOOT WITH THE DRILL, THEY SHOULD HAVE WITH THE EFFORT NEEDED TO UNPACK IT /YOU WHERE COMPAREING CHALK AND CHEESE.. CHEERS HAPPY DRILLING
That being said, it did drill quite well, didn't it.
What isn’t made in china If not directly, indirectly ? Lol
Hey there Andy, I hope this finds you well? 🙏
That Vevor sounds like my ShopVac, and it sounds as if its turning a whole lot more RPMs than your Milwaukee, so as to make it seem like its more powerful than it really is, which means it'll smoke a bit faster than Hunter B can smoke a pipe. 🔥
That truck looks awfully long, do you have a new box ready to mount? 🤔
I hope you have a good one my friend! 🫡
