One of the best-protected vehicles in the IFV class is probably the German Puma infantry fighting vehicle. The earlier Marder (German for marten) infantry fighting vehicle from the 1970s was replaced when the first designs went into production in the early 2010s. Although the two vehicles are similar at birth, they have quite different capabilities, with the Puma having an edge in every area, including mobility, firepower, and protection.
