      And this Technology is still sought after for some reason, every major western military power buys those stabilization tech from germany.
      Kinda confused that no one managed to replicate that in the US.

      It's good, but it's summarising a lot of details in a way that could lead to pretty bad misconceptions.
      Just to pick out one, this documentary mentions correctly that the Panzer IV was designed to complement the Panzer III, but it wasn't to kill "tougher targets". The Pz III was a tank hunter, the Pz IV was there to support infantry and destroy entreched defensive targets with it's short, low velocity 75mm assault gun, not the long barrel gun shown in the video.
      The only reason the Pz IV got the long barrel gun was because it's larger turret ring could support it, unlike the Pz III, and a bigger gun was needed to fight soviet tanks. This Infantry support tank, with it's armour focused forward in limited places (a singular strip of 80mm armour at the front centre, with paper thin 20mm armoured sides), was significantly less "all round reliable" than the Pz III's armour was (50mm front and sides, 30mm rear), on top of the tank also being less mobile.
      The Pz IV became the successor tank hunter because it had a bigger turret, not because it was better suited for the role of fighting tanks.

      @Proud Indian They really aren´t that complex and expensive, there´s a reason why 19 countries chose to buy the Leopard 2 in various models throughoutt the years. Something Soviet or Russian is going to be cheaper and less complex but arguably less quality and less protected

    • @leandro9311
      @leandro9311 4 года назад +45

      @Proud Indian In your order, the T-34 superiority in WWII is a myth, the earlier models where so unreliable the crews would strap a spare transmission on top of the engine bay when thers broke down, the optics where so bad gunners needed as much as double the ammunition to hit any target at distance compared to any other British American or German tank, the armor although sloped and eficient was made with low quality steel and etheir the forge was deficient or the welding poorly done meaning it crack or chipped if hit by high velocity rounds. The T-34 only started to be a rather good tank with the 85 model being produced in January 1944 and even then the high profile and exposed turret ring where obvious weaknesses. Now, Russia tanks not always used auto-loaders, only after the T-64 they did, the same for laser range-finders as they where only fitted in later models of even the T-80 wich only received a laser range-finder 2 years after being introduced at a time where NATO tanks where already having them from factory since the early 70´s. In regards to the Leopard 2 being better than the Armata or even obsolete i don´t know who said that because it certainly wasn´t me. But IF the Leopard 2 was better than the T-14 Armata, German wouldn´t start development of the Leopard 3, is as simple as that, Russia has reached a point where they have catched NATO tank development and as such the NATO tank development countries like Germany are starting the development of news tanks but even then the Leopard 2 in the A7 model is still not obsolete specialy with the continous development of ammunition wich Russia as also just catched by introducing long rod APFSDS ammunition as standard across the tank force while NATO haves those long rods since the 80´s and early 90´s as standard i must say

    Germans are wonderful when it comes to harnessing and teaching production engineering and manufacturing concepts, models, complex dynamical systems, and theories.
    The industrial creativity and innovation, and product development in some areas are second to none.
    No wonder the German living standards rose so quickly after WW2 because they diverted all energies, into positive areas, giving them a global comparative advantage and a business edge, in designing, all kinds of finished capital, and intermediate goods.
    That helped to lift the PPF Production Possibility Frontier as we study Economics.

I even have newspaper clipping of Hitler arresting Rothcild, his banks being seized and shutting down the Freemason lodges in Germany and most of Europe. The international debt based currency system was replaced with the Reichsmark. The value of their currency thru national socialism was put on the labor of the Germany workers who got paid, free housing, healthcare and others. In the history of governments, Germany was the only nation to get Socialism right. From 1933 to 1939 Gemany was thriving. So much that Time magazine put Hitler on the cover as "man of the year".....twice.....keep digging..you might find the truth if you know where to look. Like the national archives.

      I did have to chuckle when I was learning tank history and I saw the British, despite being the pioneers of the tank, completely devalued it and essentially handed the manual to Guderian. As regards British WWI tanks, many broke down and others stalled in the rough terrain. A number were captured and used by the Germans. Most "breakthroughs" were sealed and then eliminated by counterattacks. The Germans also discovered that the good old 77mm field gun could knock out British tanks. Development of specialized AT weapons like the T-Gewehr and early 37mm guns followed. Early tanks were also very susceptible to mines. British propaganda would have you believe the "panic" stories, but the Germans adjusted pretty quickly.
    Mind you, British propaganda would also have the uninformed believe that the Germans were being destroyed by attrition. In reality, as John Mosier points in the "The Myth of the Great War," using official German and Allied casualty figures, it was the other way around. Plus, German stormtrooper tactiice based on mobility and firepower were being worked out as early as 1915 and were alleadt=y in widespread use by the 1918 German offensives. The US Army saved the Allies.

      A 42 year old tank still being one of the best out there really says alot about the great german engineering. The Leopard 3 will once again be the best out there when it gets out of testing.

      go to kursk dig around in the mud, and eventually youll find a completely destroyed tank, all you'd need to do from there is take it out of the mud, clean it, repair it, and have enough money to do that

    Mobile protected firepower will ALWAYS be an integral part of warfare. Those who say tanks are no longer relevant in modern warfare are simply incorrect. The form of mobile protected firepower may change slightly from what we have become accustomed to, but it will certainly remain a powerful force on the battlefield for generations to come.
