    • @drewbydoobydoo2918
      @drewbydoobydoo2918 7 месяцев назад +70

      She didn't cause it alone. I don't think Ranni meant to kill Godwyn, as it arguably made all of her plans more difficult. I think she meant to kill Marika, as she has much more clear motivations to do so. She doesn't have many motivations to kill Godwyn. Miquella was already rejecting the GO, and her and his visions were perfectly compatible, so Miquella could have convinced Godwyn to stand down. We find a Black Knife Assasin outside of Marika's bedchamber. On the NoTBK, the ritual may had begun, but Marika was missing, so someone had to die with Ranni, and Godwyn was there.
      Marika made plenty of mistakes that led to all of it, and Marika herself became slave to the Elden Beast.
      Also, Marika did not shatter the ring immediately after Godwyn died. She was devestated, yes, but not insane. She shattered the ring after Miquella disappeared, which occurred well-after the Godwyn's death.
      I think Marika learned of Ranni's plot, which included several of Radagon's/her own children/the descendants of her own people (the nox). Miquella and Malenia were likely indifferent to Ranni's true plot, and Miquella had rejected Marika's Golden Order regardless. Her son Godwyn could not truly die, stuck inside a souless husk alive, because she removed the rune of death in the first place. She rejected and banished her loyal first lord because she wanted to build her own legacy, seperate from his. The only people left whom believed in her order were a couple of Omens that she had rejected and thrown into the sewers.
      She realized that everything she did on behalf of the Beast (not even truly the greater will, which was perfectly fine with cooperating with other outer Gods) had torn her family asunder and destroyed everything she worked to build. Shattering the ring may have been an attempt to kill the Beast, which we know is heavily injured when we fight it.

  • @thecommentguy9380
    @thecommentguy9380 7 месяцев назад +197

    There's also a possibility that she wept for Godwyn not for his death, but rather the knowledge he had to die for the Golden Order to fall. We know she betrayed Maliketh, but we never see how, but the fact the black knives were somehow able to steal fragments of the Death-infused sword is most likely the indication. Another thing we know is that she set all of her children to be ambitious, to be what they want to become, or die as nothing.
    Marika probably had the longest plan to shatter the Golden Order, and have it started with Ranni, who above all wanted to rid herself of the Golden Order's control. The fact Godwyn died probably wasn't random either, as the demi-god looked up to by many and was essentially the perfect son of the Golden Order, who was able to create a strong bond with the ancient dragon, Godwyn was most likely the prime candidate for 3rd Elden Lord. His death made the spot open for others to take, so the war broke out with house Caria likely trying to take over, mount Ghelmir trying to burn it all down, the Haligtree fighting the Redmane for personal reasons because they were not interested in the Golden Order.

    • @bondbarrybonds5774
      @bondbarrybonds5774 7 месяцев назад +3

      Your timeline doesn’t add up. The war with the Carions happened before Radagon became Marika’s consort. Godwyn was alive when Radagon and Marika had the Milenia and Miquella

      @thecommentguy9380 7 месяцев назад +8

      @@bondbarrybonds5774 i said carians but more specifically it was the redmane under radahn, because the actual carians were under siege by the cuckoo knights of raya lucaria during the shattering (or before it)
      Godwyn was indeed alive when marika and radagon had malenia and miquella, except the plot took place much later, which everyone already knows. Point is marika was likely aware of ranni's desire to break free and gave her the opportunity to do that, to steal death and rid herself of the body that her two fingers controlled

    I have a theroy about the red spear through her chest. Because it looks blackis redish enough i believe its a spear made from the death rune, and juat like how blaidd (who was given to ranni from the 2 fingers to keep an eye on her) turned on ranni when she betrayed the greater will, i beilve that when she destroyed the elden ring, Maliketh was sent to capture and imprison her, and since she holds the elden rune within her body , he put a spear through to stop the elden ring reforming and her coming back. But when we show up with a minimum of 2 elden shards, its enough for the elden ring to latch on and reform itself, which helps Marika/Radagon escape imprisonment. (Just a theory, but still i believe it holds a little weight😂😅)

      @javierabonza569 through many different items, character bios, notes you find, etc. The biggest thing that tells us this is Ronni and the girl who gives you Torrent (I forgot her name cause it's been a while). Ronni seems to have 2 faces when you look at her up close, but she also has the body of a doll. Radigon might have had an artificial body as well because when we fight him, his body seems to be made of clay or some sort of mineral. After defeating him, the Elden Beast uses his body to make a weapon. If you zoom in on the sword hilt, it's formed in the shape of Radigons corpse, but if his body was falling apart and crumbling, and after defeating the elden beast, his body returns still crumbled, who's corpse did the elden beast use? Marikas corpse. That explains why her body is nowhere to be found throughout the entire game. This is gonna sound like a bunch of string theory bs, but whatever lmao 🤣

      @@the1andonlybelac it's no BS bro I like hearing other people theory. Ok so from what I know ranni is in a dolls body because she wanted to "rid herself of her flesh" get out of her empyrean body. In order to do so the she made the black knife plan. That's why Ranni died in body while Godwyn died in spirit. For me she never showed signs of another personality. As well as the other Empyreans none of them show signs of another persona, that being Malenia, Miquella, Ranni and supposably The Gloam eyed Queen. But hey I might be missing something lol I just finished my first playthrough with All Shardbearers in 175 hrs 🤣

      @@javierabonza569 Another theory I just made up for fun.
      The Lands Between, as the name implies, are a plane outside the usual planes of existence. This means, to freely leave them, you need a bright and radiant soul/spirit that was cut from his physical anchor (the physical biological body)
      This can also imply Godwyn's Soul never truly died, just the connection to the physical anchor, his body, was severed so he left the Lands Between to another Dimension/World/Plane of Existence. To leave the lands between herself in physical form Ranni had to do the same in reverse - destroy her physical body/severing the connection to her biological anchor/vessel but anchoring her soul into a lifeless (in a biological sense) mobile vessel.
      The only thing that's now missing would be for someone to defy the Greater Will by slaying the Guardian of the World, the Elden Beast, as this would rewrite/pause the metaphysical laws of the Lands Between preventing Ranni from leaving.
      It had to be Godwyn because his virtous strong Soul would allow her to act as a shining beacon to guide her in whatever dimenion(s) she'd travel to with the protagonist.

    I understand Ranni, out of the Empyrians, she was the most likely to become the next Goddess, however I have a theory Marika cursed Miquella and Malenia so they lose their status.
    Ranni became an object to the 2 fingers and she was probably held into chains until her master came about.
    I bet she wanted to free herself but needed the use of Destined Death; since she couldn't do it alone she got the help from the Black Knives but I doubt she was the one to choose Godwyn as the victim.
    Also, Ranni only wanted to be free from the 2 fingers, what her siblings and cousins did was their own fault, if everyone wasn't blinded by ambition, Ranni would've most likely just killed her 2 fingers and flee to the Moon.

Marika is already implicated with trickery via the whole Radagon and Marika is the same person thing. And we know she betrayed Maliketh, and given that he's going on and on on not letting Destined Death be taken from him again we can presume the betrayal was most likely her stealing back the rune of Destined Death that she told him to guard, presumably to give to the Black Knives.
      Also the background was written by George R.R Martin, there's no way that he wouldn't include a twist like Marika being behind the assassination but Ranni double crossing her to pull off the whole only killing Ranni's body and saving her soul via sacrificing Godwyn's soul plan.
      None of it's a smoking gun, but it's pretty heavily implied that she's involved in some manner.

    I don't think Marika's motivation was grief, instead I think over time she questioned the golden order much like Ranni did but had a more longer and sure-fire plan than her. For example, she's the one who set out the Tarnished, including the First Elden Lord Godfrey since he's also Tarnished, on their long march until they return, marking the coming of the next Elden Lord who slain the Elden Beast. Melina's dialog hints to this when she reads Marika's words in those churches you find, so it's hard to say she did it out of grief rather than questioning the whole thing

Children of Marika and Radagon all start with ‘M’ Malenia, Miquella, Messmer, Melina… and the children of Radagon and Rennala all start with ‘R’ Ranni, Rykard, Radahn… and then we have the golden lineage stemming from Marika and Godfrey, where they only publicly had Godwyn, and all descendants of this bloodline have ‘God’ at the start of their name, in game we know of Godfrey, Godwyn, Godrick and Godefroy.
      It is confusing at first glance, but the naming scheme once understood, actually makes things easier to keep track of.

    Yeah she loved Godwyn so much that she had him killed... There are many clues on the fact that she orchestrated the night of the black knives with Ranni. Also many forget that the night of the black knives happened long before the shattering, so I don't think they're heavily correlated, or at least it wasn't the final reason

      Technically not really Godfrey specifically… she sent him and his warriors. Lmao she kinda pulled the ultimate bitch move by kicking him out, giving him the opportunity to reclaim his throne, but also giving equal chance to all of his warriors, basically cucking him. We literally cuck Godfrey. As a Tarnished, he’s basically our commander and we swoop in and beat his ass and steal his wife.

      Problem there is his spirit is dead. It’s his body that’s arguably still alive. Ranni killed her body, her spirit lives on in the doll.

    She likely married Radagon first before removing the rune of death.
    The Gloam Eyed Queen is obviously Melina. No explanation needed there. However, she is with the unalloyed family, consisting the aeonian butterfly, nascent butterfly, and smoldering butterfly. Radagon is a clone of Marika, and due to that, their children were each assigned these butterflies, with Melina representing the smoldering butterfly.
    The rune of death was first owned by the Gloam Eyed Queen, and since Marika was the one to remove it from the Elden Ring, the likely chance is that she gave the rune first to her daughter, trusting her to keep it safe. However, Melina had a different idea, which resulted in her smoldering fire being combined with destined death, to create blackflame, capable of killing gods.
    Marika likely feared this power, since Melina's apostles already killed countless gods, and wore them as a trophy. Mrika was also a goddess, which resulted her sending Maliketh to fight Melina. She somehow lost... How tf do you lose such a winning battle?
    Anyways, Maliketh took the death, the apostles were abandoned, a fairly new generation of apostles were created which relied on their duel rather than the scroching fire, and Maliketh just... gave death to whoever served him.
    Oh yea. If you want clarification on how Radagon is a clone when Marika is a woman, the Fire Giant cursed Marika with some of his own DNA, which turned Marika's hair red. And if you go around the Lands Between often, red isn't really praised in any location but Redmane. It symbolizes a beast which a queen can't be.
    Aftermath
    Ranni and Rykard decided to steal a fragment of Death
    Rykcard created the blasphemous claw in case the plan failed and went to war.
    Radahn, wanting to take the name "lord" someday, paused the movement of the sky to prevent Ranni from her path. And no, he did not do it to stop the fallingstar beasts, since a large remnants of them still remain around the map with a burning crater which should have cooled years ago.
    Ranni succeeded, which resulted in her killing Godwyn for maximum dmg on the golden order, and herself to rid out her flesh. You know this story.
    What you don't know, is that Melina somehow returned(Star Wars be like:)
    Ranni brought back the Gloam Eyed Queen, but with a missing fragment of memory and power. She later became a servant who would seek out a Tarnished to help herself and Ranni fix the Golden Order. It is likely Melina disobeyed Ranni's Orders, and just stayed with the Tarnished till the end. She did not like the idea of Ranni abandoning the Lands Between just to create another one on the moon. This results to 4 of the common endings you know.
    Holy shit I am a nerd at this game.
    I played this game for only a year. I should not know this much.

      Interesting theories for sure but do keep in mind, a lot of this is just speculative theory, the story is written vaguely intentionally. We’re not really supposed to know the whole picture, we only know for certain what’s relevant and presented to us.
