This is why I love this channel. This is the kind of title that is so over shadowed by other games on the system, that I never would have heard it without you. Thanks for the review!
I’ve always liked this one. The 2600 may have some more complex flight-sim style games, but for a basic system like the 2600, the arcade stylings of Air Raiders hits the right notes for me.
Very cool. I was surprised and impressed by the pseudo-3D effect of the multiple planes having different movements based off of how you are flying. This looks to be one of those rare Atari titles that both is fun and has a high degree of technical prowess.
When I saw the thumbnail on RUclips I thought it was a version of B-17 Bomber very simplified without voice of course and no bombing things and just shooting planes in front of you and not having to choose which direction to change to. The taking off part sounds like it too frustrating to make the boring game play worth playing.
Nice review Phil! Personally I have this one via emulated game ROM currently. Haven't tried it yet, but another friend commented on his own video that it's almost like an Atari VCS/2600 Top Gun in a sense. Interesting how it's the only M Network console port to the Atari VCS/2600 that was never on the IntelliVision. I didn't know that before.
I didn't get into the details, but my research indicates Mattel may have passed on porting this to the Intellivision due to some of the similarities with B-17 Bomber, although both game were made independently of one another.

That’s a nice-looking game. Adding that to my shopping list. Sounds a lot like Snoopy and the Red Baron if I close my eyes.

Now how did this one fly under the radar - no pun intended. Never heard of this one.
Good review of this game! I always thought this was not a bad game for the Atari 2600 system!
Checking in. Great Review.
This game is very, very roughly equivalent to the Intellivision "B17 Bomber". It's a stretch to believe this, I know.

@@thenosweargamer1449 You should've given that in the vid! I love historical tidbits like that.
@@theusher2893 Chalk that one up to a mental slip as I put the review together LOL. I only remembered that fact when I read the comment.
@@thenosweargamer1449 All good man. I just appreciate the quality content.
Pretty cool looking game
Hmm m-network .. don't think it'd have a pal release, unfortunately
I thought it was that super rare game. Name sounds familiar
Your color is off for this one. The cockpit is green, not brown.
Sounds and looks Boring, glad they did not waste time and money releasing it on Intellivision.
I like that he says since they're not shooting at you that you might be attacking passenger planes. Does seem a little boring.
