To be fair, there's not a ton to represent from the Jaguar.

1:27 some of my earliest flashes of life, the actual beginning of my existence included this wood paneled legend....being barely alive, Haunted House was my jam back then, my mom played pinball and that sound atrocious pac man game. I'm positive some of those sound effects made it into my first nightmares 😂😂😂....then when I got older and that controller and the Sega one fit each other 🤯. A mid week drop and a comedy show tonight. Epic Wednesday!

Getting this was a no brainer for me because of the addition of multiple versions of Berserk. Been hoping for that for awhile. Red Baron was cool too. Reminds me a little of Snoopy vs the Red Baron. Haha.

Red Baron looks fun. I had never heard of it before but it makes me think of the Star Wars arcade game with the vector graphics. That was very popular back in the day.

Back in the day, i always knew it as the Atari VCS. It was only after i bought my Atari 600XL, that the Atari VCS was re released as the Atari 2600 to fit in with the XL series 🕹️

4 versions of berzerk 😂 I am going to wait for the second dlc and hopefully can get together. Wishing for Atari ST history and games, Gauntlet and Gauntlet 2. Just terrible we didn’t get the 7800 version of Desert Falcon.

I've never seen Destroyer before, looks like it would actually be a fun simple game. Red Baron looks pretty cool for that era. I'm kinda glad I waited to buy a physical release for Atari 50. The Steelbook release seems like a very good buy.

  • @peterthx

I want to ask Evelyn Seto why in 1982 there were not one, not two, but THREE 2600 cartridge packaging changes. So from the beginning of '82 to the end, there were FOUR packaging variations of 2600 games! And *then* in less than 6 months into 1983 they changed yet again starting with GALAXIAN! Things settled down after that with minor variations for things like the Sesame Street or Muppets titles and the next major change was in 1986 starting with JR. PAC-MAN.

No Desert Falcon for the 7800? Ah well. Also sort of wishing Ballblazer for the 7800 was included but wasn't terribly optimistic about that possibility
Sky Diver, however... that is damn fun

Back in the day, everyone just called it simply, "Atari." It wasn't until the Atari 5200 came out did I remember people starting to call the original VCS system, the "Atari 2600." It was almost like a retronym that brewed up. Ultimately, it is the name that people remember best, because that is what people forever going forward called it.

I really wish they'd strike up a deal with Activision, to add many of the best games for this. Activision played such a huge roll in Atari's history that it always seems weird to not have any of it included. Pitfall!, Kaboom, Crackpots, Skiing, River Raid, Boxing, Barnstorming, and much more. Though I feel very much the same about many other games not included here. Games such as E.T., Pac-Man, Indiana Jones, Halloween, Superman, The Empire Strikes Back, Donkey Kong, and so on. They are such a huge part of its history.

I bought the Atari Vault +dlc on Humble Bundle a few years ago for under a couple bucks. One of the best purchases for the price. The only thing really missing that this collection has is the Atari 7800 and Jaguar games which are very few in number.
Maybe I will eventually pick up the Atari 50 collection on a sale but I’m not going to pay a lot of money for a collection of games I mostly have already plus a couple I don’t like Ninja Golf and Food Fight.
I would like to see a giant collection of Mastertronic games for the Atari 8-bit. A lot of treasures there.
