The model for the Ark is at the National Video Games Museum in Frisco, Texas.
That is very cool!
Criminally underrated game. I'm glad you enjoy it.
Space Zap for the VCS, plus a bonus stage. Winner!
I played Space Zap at a shop near my home in 1981. It had a tie-fighter that circles or spirals in, I forget which. I just watched a review of all games 1977-1980 and was surprised that almost all the early games were based on arcade games from the 1970s: Combat, Indy 500, Dodge 'EM, Sky Diver, Breakout, etc.
I only ever made it to the creatures that looked like Pac-Man, then I found out that was the last creature type.
Cosmic Ark is a great Atari 2600 game. To me, it is one of my favorite Atari 2600 games of all time, even though I just got it today. I picked it up for 1 dollar and 75 cents at a store called 2nd & Charles. I love the game! :)
I liked it a lot. It actually made me feel like I was in a big galaxy and going to different planets. The different critters added to that feel. Probably a top 20 title for me.
One of my all time favorites.
I've enjoyed this game since the day it was released way back in the day.. yes I am old.
interesting game
i dont like atari graphical design ( or possibilities for the graphics), but i can see the Game here, i just would add Thrust gameplay for surface stages, and some music to outter space levels to make more like rythm game, as "guitar hero" or "super crazy guitar maniac deluxe"
How did you get the star field effect working on a 7800? It shouldn’t work with the newer TIA chips.
I was probably using my early model 7800
Number 30? Oh No Swear... Meth is a bad drug! How else could you rate this so low! Nice graphics, good sound, imaginative gameplay... Creationists in space!
What's not to love?! All jokes aside, this is one of my very favorite games on the Atari VCS/2600.
No meth, but maybe I've been drinking too much Faygo Rock n Rye lately!
Besides, 30 out of nearly 100 is actually pretty good!
I still think it should be rated much, MUCH higher. But I was almost ready to cut you some slack, seeing "Faygo Rock n Rye." I thought that sounds like something I'd drink. But then I Googled it and discovered, much to my shock and dismay, it is NOT a kind of whiskey! I'd rather do meth and play Cosmic Ark!
This one gets repetitive real fast. However, graphically it's pretty nice.
sweet review..ive been waitin on this review for awhile..i would put it in mt top 10 but top 30 so far is still not bad..
thanks for reviewin this game ive been lookin forward to it sence ive watched your videos..
I like how you play the games with a different action figure each time. I like good ole Bib Fortuna. Funny name and kinda funny looking character, but the action figure is pretty impressive, especially with his robe and accessory.
I love Atlantis! I find it more fun than some of the other base defending games like Missile Command. Looks very cool too.
This Cosmic Ark game looks cool. It's unusual to get to play the aliens for a change. Pretty cool that you can shoot in all directions in the meteor shower screen. The music is indeed pretty good. Lots of variety. Cool that you beam up the creatures rather than killing them. Not that I've a problem with shooting stuff in games, but it's neat to see some variety.
thats another good one and one of my favorite games
Really overated game that completely rely on speed and reflex ! Same can be said for Kaboom , Dodge´em and Dragonfire ...
