If they are really listening to fpv, they should be able to release Session 10 lite
the issue with that is it requires completely new PCBs to be designed and manufactured, this uses mostly the same parts as the regular model so is significantly cheaper R&D wise.

@@Bruno-cb5gk That makes sense BUT, what doesnt make sense is the price tag. Why is it the same as a full hero 10 black when it has a lot less parts and features? No display front or back no battery, no big waterproof casing etc... I can get (in germany) the hero 10 from the official site for 380€ including 1 year of gopro subscription, but buying the Bones only is 530€ (currently only available for USA) but the point still stands. Im confused.
@@Busy-B. yeah the price point is definitely confusing.
Hope they include more than one power cable in the box, should not cost them anything really and most of use have multiple quads and want to be able to change between them.

Honestly, 3 is good numbers to include. Not 2 nor 1… and it should be silicone…
If the target market is FPV the form factor seems a bit weird. Why all the front facing area? The only area that needs to have front exposure is the lens. The rest of it is just extra wind resistance, and more surface area to hit obstacles in a crash. They could either make it deeper (like the Session) or even have the guts lie flat on the top of the quad with the lens angled up.
I agree. But since the board of the hero 10 is the size of this footprint, they would have had to re-design the pcb to make it a better form factor. Sadly that's probably not worth it for them, since this WILL sell and it even has lower material costs then a regular hero 10..
I agree and I expressed the form factor (and plead for the return of the session), but I still think this is a great step. It’s a very niche market and I don’t blame them for outright starting from scratch. My guess is they’ll see how this does, and evolve it if they see it as a success.
The hope is that GoPro continue to listen to what the fpv community is asking for.
Nice they finally noticed. Now if they can just re-release the session the world would be happy again. A $299 session 11 black with optional battery or external power option. ND filters and GoPro app connection as a cherry on top.

Is this flat design good for smaller quads? If i was designing this gopro i would try to make it more aerodynamic round/square like session style

ahahah for real though, I thought by making an "FPV ready" camera, GoPro meant a modular HERO that could be taken apart into its naked form without complications. manufacturers don't seem to understand weight reduction. unironically could've just shipped me working PCBs in a plastic bag and I would have been happy. that's usually how everything else in FPV works.

Simply because it's the first of its kind. People will spend the extra $$$ for less stress of ripping apart their brand new GoPro 10 with a very good chance that they'll mess up and break it.
The alternative is you buy a full camera and do it yourself, so you're saving time and the risk of paperweighting a GoPro if you don't have the experience.
The work you do in/for the fpv community is amazing keep up the high quality development!!
After the FPV market single handedly disrupted the used GoPro market they’ve finally payed attention, better late than never. I think you got this one right GoPro 👍
I have had automatic update set to "off" on my iPhone because I didn't want to lose protune. So glad they put that feature back on the app.
Hyped for this, hopefully they'll have future models that are even more tailored to FPV to be more aerodynamic. 🤘

but I wonder about the Best Buy warranty ? is it still valid for these too ? break em, replace em warranty ?
1. The price. The batery and screens are removed, still costs $399.99
2. I get it, the price includes reelsteady? What if I get two, can i sell one licence back?
3. Could swallow the price, but the formfactor is terrible and it's the main issue. Just terrible. How hard is it to make an aerodynamic brick that does not drag to the left? make it a square, please.
4. I'm going to complain for 10000th time, how complicated is it to have custom labels for the friggin profiles? I don't use all of my profiles daily, I forget the neuances they have.
I agree with the form factor, I gave them the same feedback. But… I’m happy with the direction they’re going. Maybe one or two versions later, the form factor will get better
Yeah this is dumb, my hero10 black was $350 with a year of that warranty. Why would this cost more, or even the same??
Glad to see finally GoPro came to its senses and figured where their market is - except few wing suit guys hehe. Wish it was somewhat water resistant though, just in case you run into rain or dive down waterfalls.

No front or back screen, no GPS, no battery which is less cost and way less production time with no waterproofing and putting it all together. This is half the cam for the same price lol. I didn't really recognize that until now. Wowza! What a rip off. It should be at most 1/2 the price of a regular GP10. I'm puking green for greed lol. Now the real question is, are they using a-stock or b-stock or c-stock boards? Hmmm.
Hmz... the 66g does put my x95 over the 250g limit for flying over people in the EU :/

Ooof 66g better be durable. Whats the weight of the insta360 one rs without the battery just running off a usbc to balance lead pigtail? Last I remember it was somewhere around 60g and was waterproof. Interesting to see this though.
By connecting to a UART on the flight controller, can the Bones recording be turned on and off by assigning to a switch via Betaflight? Also, has anyone use silicone conformal coating to help make this more water resistant?
How is it if you drop it in the drink? Do you use hypersmooth? If you do then can you still use Reel Steady?
I’m pretty sure it won’t survive water (there’s tons of cooling passages). But everything else works great

okay problem with the new Reelsteady 2... can't seem to find out if you can use it one more than one computer period!!! Meaning I can't disable the license from my laptop and then use it on my desktop, Hopefully I'm just not doing something right... if not then they need to let people know before they upgrade!
Update... okay even though it says I needed to purchase to export I tried, and it let me export, next time I opened and tried again it didn't give me the warning.
Glad I caught this. That it was like a thin version you can clip onto a hat or shirt. Didn’t realize then they said it was for the ultimate fpv shots I didn’t immediately realize it was quad fpv. Still cool how they are willing to make a dedicated camera for that type of community.

Yesterday during an FPV meet I saw it on GoPros announcement, now I've already seen a review. Great that they chose you! Now that's a naked gopro that I would also use. And a reason to abandon my gp7 and buy a newer now. DJI a2 is great for most my use, but it cannot hide jello as the gopros can... greets, Mario

@@kibbycabbit a fpv store isn't offering the warranty. It's the same price as a normal gopro. I will get a normal hero 10 from best buy with the warranty then.

Use it to trigger start/stop record. You can use buzzer pad or LED, and then configure it in BF (PINIO)
